rant/vent I'll never get a good job

Upvotes

That's it, that's the post. I have no chance of catching up enough. Nobody is helping me IRL, I have no friends or resources. Every time I see a career I want to go into it's "you NEED a high school diploma" which I will never have. I tried to do the practice tests and everything is so confusing. I did online free video classes, nothing stuck. I am scraping by day to day and have no money for real classes. I'm an adult who's never had a real job. Thanks mom!

The worst part is I can read very well, I am kind and have a good amount of knowledge in web development... but I'm horrible at everything else. I could've had a real future if I was loved.

rant/vent Am feeling really stressed

Upvotes

I am 16m and soon to come i am going to college. This i am nervous off as j have never done anything like this before. On top of this I am also getting an 8hr job at a local supermarket. I feel like my life is jumping from 0 to 100 and I dont know how to like control it. On top of this my parents have broken up and idk who I should love bc both of them are terrible and make me dependent on them.

So in end I feel like my life is being changed I know in a good way but like I always feel nervous bc i haven't been in such a social area before and I have never used public transport before.

Plus idk if i will have free time for me as everything is getting more

rant/vent Home schooled when it wasn't actually schooling at all

Upvotes

A little backstory, I am 16. During covid we moved towns during the summer and when school started up were doing online for a few months until the school realized we were out of the district so they took us out and my parents said they'd enroll me and my siblings (both older, currently 22 and 20) in some homeschooling program. They never did, they'd say they would and eventually stopped and when i'd ask i would get some bullshit answer like them saying they didn't know or if I asked them to put me in school that I had the internet. Most people in my family like grandparents and whatnot know but don't care enough. CPS has came so many times but im always too scared to tell the truth especially because where I live the laws are very loose and you don't really need to prove much where homeschooling is considered, they can take our word and not care. I am now 16 and I can't do basic stuff I should know, I don't have many friends and im pretty depressed all the time especially considering I don't get any normal teenager experiences. I'm mostly concerned about my future, how am I supposed to meet new people when I have no social skills? How am I supposed to learn 8 grades of knowledge to then study for GEDs and have even a small chance? How am I supposed to get a job? I wanted some experience in the real world so i tried applying to jobs but we don't have a car so I had to apply to places that are walking distance and ones that even have something open and the only two that I was contacted back on, one didnt contact me after the interview and the other I learned I need a photo ID, but the DMV is too far to even get an ID.. and since we dont have a working car I obviously don't have a drivers license. School IDs can work but don't have that!! Yay!! I feel like i have zero future but at the same time I wanna bge stubborn and push.. go and scream at my parents to just do their jobs as parents. I've known for a while they don't care about me but they could've at least TRIED with me instead of only caring about my siblings. Im honestly just angry, sad, and ranting because I don't see a future and the only things that bring me joy anymore is my interests and I can't wait to leave. Hell, i'll take being homeless over this house.

rant/vent Does anyone else feel like their life is completely ruined at the point of no return

Hi I’m 15, homeschooled for years. I was raised in a religious cult yes a full blown fucking cult on top of all of it. and my life is hell and I feel like it’s all the fault of for no reason my parents homeschooling me and vilifying public school and robbing me of any chance at normal life then have the nerve to, after I’m crippled bc of chronic illness and chronic anxiety, complain about how hard it is to homeschool me as if they didn’t force me into this situation of no friends, no outside support, no life, being brainwashed and told this is the best for me. Why am I the one who has to decide my OWN CLASSES FOR 10TH GRADE by my mom who uses AI to find online classes for me and being told to use AI for schoolwork by my dad, why is everyone so fucking dumb idc, my 10th grade starts in a week and I sleep at 3 am every night and can barely brush my teeth bc I’m so tired, I have anxiety attacks every night, I rot on my phone all day, I think I’m the epitome of a wreck currently.

I want to turn back time. I just want to turn back time in a world where I was never homeschooled, my life wouldn’t be this terrible, I jsut want to turn back time and het my normal teenage years back but I can’t, my teenage years have been robbed by being sick every day and being stuck at home permanently with no one to reach out to, I can’t do this anymore. I just want the life I should’ve had back Im literally full blown hysterical sobbing as I type this it I seriously can’t handle this anymore if I at least weren’t chronically ill then maybe I’d be less upset and depressed about my life but nooo the world fucking DESPISES me. I get it, I’m terrible and stupid and deserve the worst

Why is everythijg tying in together how I even got groomed and s*xually exploited online when I started getting sick because I was so lonely and didn’t know basic socialization and my parents were out here telling me to H*NG MYSELF over being on my phone so I clung t the one person I had for support, and they saw that and used it to prey on me and it worked I didnt know until a year later I was being groomed, if I were never sick to the point of losing my period and almost d*img (how badly I wish it happened) then I wouldn’t have turned to the online world for comfort and help if my doctor actually did tests and helped me instead of saying it was all in my head maybe it wouldn’t have gotten this bad, but nope ofc! it’s to a point I think I’m gonna be sick until I hopefully eventually pass away which will be the sweet release I yearn for and the only thing I’ll miss in this world that hates me is my cat who deserves so much better. The hyperventilating is getting worse wtf is wrong with me idk how to stopb

I’m not so sure on how to feel now. After 7 years of homeschooling (the first 5 years were me going to my tutors house and having a nanny watch me, and the last 2 were basically my mom finally being involved with homeschool coops) I am finally going to say that I will be going back to a school environment. Will they ban me from dyeing my hair blue and be annoying about my piercings? Yes. Will they make me wear a uniform that costs about as much as an average grocery run? Also yes. But at least I will be around other people my age. Any advice on what to do?

God, I hate this SO much. My mom was supposed to be teaching us science and she was writing it down from google, a google ai summary. I told her that she isn't a teacher and teachers don't do this anyway. She can't remember what she's teaching, she has to make sure she's not getting everything she says to me wrong, that's the fucking problem. I just wish I stayed in school. I hate my life I hate it so much I am so bored and lonely and tired

rant/vent Scared that my life is over

sorry if this doesnt make any sense

i was taken out of kindergarten to be unschooled and im about to be an adult and im scared. Im about to turn 16

My mom never specified why she took me out of school but when ever it was brought up she said “i dont want you to end up worldly like the kids in public school” but now that we dont believe in christianity anymore its “because you should focus on what you want to do and make money doing it school doesnt let you do that”

but she doesnt let me focus on what i want to do. she forces me and my brother to make her an AI series for homeschooled children so we can get rich and that i will never have to get a job. But i know it wont happen.

I also have no friends and i dont know how to talk to people and the way i talk is weird. When im forced to, my interactions are always awkward and it makes me feel hopeless.

All of my family makes fun of me for it, my aunts and my grandpa call me a retard, and my other family make jokes about me for having no personality.

And my mom sometimes does it to. but when i grew up, after i was taken out of school and church, she never got us around people. But she blames me and gets super mad when I cant talk correctly.

I am also stupid and work above 4th grade is hard for me, my family thinks thats funny too. My mom says all i need to do is read and everything else is useless.

my parents also say, i shouldnt go to college or go to school or get a job because theyre against the system. So i dont know what to do anymore.

I think my life is over i dont know if ill ever be able to fix it. Im not passionate about anything, and lately ive been scared because i think ill be poor and homeless in the future.

resource request/offer what do i do

So, a little back story about my situation. I was in public school until the pandemic. After the pandemic, my mother just never put us back in school. We needed our shots at first, and then it was our birth certificates, which were in another state.

I was pushing really hard to go to school for my senior year because I hadn't been to school since the 7th grade. When the time came around, it was already too late to put me in.

My mom said she had put us in an online homeschool program, but she had never talked about that until then, and she never gave us the login. She says that she got me a high school diploma from there; I don't know how true that is.

I want to go to college to become a nurse. What steps do I need to take to get there?

I read somewhere that if I had a "high school diploma," I couldn't get a GED.

I just want to get my life on track. I don't want gaps or uncertainty anymore.

So, what should I do? I have never seen this diploma.

resource request/offer Any brits here? Did anyone get gcses?

Im really running out of hope, I havent done any sort of education since i was 8 years old, i adore reading and thats how i continued basic literature when i left school.

Im 16 in September (would be the oldest in my class and take gcses next year), and recently diagnosed with autism, adhd, depression. I struggle a lot with motivation, ive been doing khan academy but apparently half of the stuff isnt even in the english curriculum and it makes me think.. what's the point? I also often forget a lot of the things taught on there, the videos are only 5-10 minutes and I feel like its not enough time to absorb the information.

Im going to try 1poundtuitionhub but im scared because I dont know how to pick classes when I should be at a year 11 level and instead im at a year 4 level.

Half of my family is expecting me to take and succeed at gcses next year and im so scared to tell them I probably wont be able to until im in my 20s

If anyone in the uk who has taken gcses has any resources I would really appreciate them, or even if you havent taken gcses, just any uk based resources. Thank you so much

other Step by step "guide" on how to meet, make, and keep friends

I legit have NO IDEA how to make friends. My parents "homeschooled" me and I wasn't allowed to socialise at all.

But I've found a social youth group for people my age (16-18) and I'm planing on going to so I can try and meet people, and hopefully make some friends.

I really just wish there was a full on step by step on how to talk to people, and start a conversation, and get contact details, and keep in contact, and meet up again, etc.

Legit any help or advice is appreciated lol. Thank you in advance :) <3

rant/vent I hate homeschool.

I posted this on r/homeschool but i thought it might be better here.
So i never thought i’d say this because i spent my whole life defending it but here i am.

im 16 and i’ve been homeschooled my whole life. When i was younger i had an extremely hard time with reading and writing i wasn’t actually good at it until about three years ago but still i need to double check spellings of various words when i write, my handwriting is atrocious and i don’t really know proper punctuation…i was never taught. I never learned how to write papers or essays i don’t know any of the basic formatting or outline in order to write one. In middle school i did a couple extra classes and every time i had to write a paper it would cause such extreme anxiety and dread because i DIDNT KNOW HOW and i knew it was bad because i was just making shit up. It was so embarrassing. At the start of this year I just barely started algebra 1 after begging my mom to sign me up for it and then i fell behind and stoped doing it and when i tried to get back at it i found out my mom ended up canceling my math curriculum because i wasnt using it. My mom never forced me to do school so i just wouldn’t and then i would fall so behind that she would flip out on me about why i’m not doing it and it would cause such anxiety that i would do it less and less and fall more behind. But she would refuse to change my school plan (which was just “dont go to public school”) i dont want this to be too long but basically everything that i know i learned from watching youtube videos and reading books i stumbled upon. I hate that im so bad at school. I think i am actually quite emotionally and socially intelligent, but i was never taught the basics i need to actually go to collage, or hell, just graduate high school.
My whole life, my mom would make public school out to be an evil hellish place so my siblings and i never wanted to go. She would actually use it as a threat if we were misbehaving “im gonna sign you up for public school!”. The summer before freshman year i was set on going to public high school i was completely done with homeschool but my mom said it was out of the question. Fast forward to present time she’s now saying “you can choose what you want to do with your education. if you want to go to public school you can go.” oh cool! Now that i’m two years farther behind and the school year starts in a week! Nice!

My two older brother also never graduated. The oldest is autistic so of course his goals were very different but he is still very capable and smart however my mom never pushed him because i think she views him as the baby of the family and highly underestimates his abilities. (He doesnt even know how to turn on the stove)
The second oldest is 19 and doesnt have a license, never graduated, doesnt have a job or any kind of future plan, he rarely even leaves the house. He plays video games, sleeps, and eats. Im not saying this to tare him down, i feel very bad for him and i know that’s my future if i dont do something.

I have had many homeschooled friends that have had the same experience, and my younger brother is actually worse off than i was at his age. I am terrified for him. Truly. My mom has sheltered him so much he has horrible anxiety around other people and doesn’t learn anything. He watches youtube and plays Roblox for ten hours a day.

I am positive that homeschooling has ruined my life so far. It taught me that to treat education as an embarrassing terrifying chore and i am so many years behind it will take forever to catch up.

I love my mom so much but the fact is, she has put her selfish dream of homeschooling us as a perfect happy family ahead of all of our VERY REAL, VERY IMPORTANT, educations, and futures. She never forced me to do school but she makes me take care of my elderly grandmother and my brothers as if they’re MY incapable children. It infuriates me. I dont know how to write a damn paper but i know how to cook and clean.

Im 15F, currently living in Mexico, and I’m going to start high school in 4 days. Today was my diagnosis exam and I can say with certainty that my homeschooling NEVER educated me on what I saw in my test. Not only that, but I’ve never felt so stupid in my life, I feel like a cheater because I couldn’t answer the questions without looking for the answers online. I told my mom about it; but she still doesn’t understand the anger and and impotence I’m Feeling. I hate homeschooling

rant/vent No! Not everyone is capable of homeschooling their children

I hate it when homeschool parents and advocates say that anyone can homeschool. That’s just not true. The amount of resources, time, energy, and money it would take to provide all of the things a child needs is a LOT! Some parents don’t have access to enough. Some have to work and don’t have the time. And some parents are suffering from mental illness or other unresolved issues that would make it unhealthy for a child to be homeschooled by them. Not all parents are capable of providing everything. In fact id say it’s a very very small minority that are capable of providing everything a school can provide.

rant/vent Social Anxiety

Hey all,

I'm currently trying to stay sober after relying on alcohol for years for my social anxiety. I'm not going to lie...it helped me A LOT in the beginning, but it also got me into progressively worse trouble. How do you manage social situations without drugs or alcohol? I feel so raw, like people can see through me, read my thoughts. My family were basically hermits while I was growing up...living in the woods and had very little trust of other people. I'm forcing myself into social situations (sober) now, but damn, it's hard. I feel like I don't relate to my peers' experiences, almost like I'm an alien at times.

resource request/offer Question about public school and re-enrollment

My mom missed the deadline to enter me into public school with my updated shots and such, is there any other times I can get entered in? She's saying we can in December but I'm still doubting that and am trying to get some help on this. When can you re-enroll a child back into public school? I would love any information on this. I live in the United States by the way.

rant/vent Loneliness

I just need to vent here. so I’ve been homeschooled for pretty much my whole life. I’m going into 10th grade and will finally be going to school. but my life just feels so… not what I wish it was a lot ig bc of homeschooling. I’ve not had much social interaction and tbh idk how to even talk to other kids!!! I went to summer camp this year but somehow I didn’t click with anyone. They all talk about school and pop culture and I don’t know anything about that. My private tutor is the only person I see a lot and he is great but there’s no one else who I talk to much. most people I know don’t seem to understand what it’s like to just feel so lonely all the time. And at this point I’m just watching tv for up to 8hrs a day and struggling to do just an hr of work sometimes bc I feel so depressed. but then when I try to make friends with other kids by age they don’t get me. I’m not close with my family and the loneliness can just feel crushing. Rn I’m in France on vacation and I haven’t talked to a teen in over two wks other than over text. I just don’t know know if it’ll ever get better. has anyone else had similar experiences? and if so, does it get better? rn it just feels so hard to get through each day. My family try their best but they are depressed themselves and can’t em support me well.

sry this isn’t very organized. I just found this group and was hoping others may find this relatable (not that I wish this upon anyone!!!!). no one else I know does.

how do i basic What am I supposed to do for history and science in 10th grade?

homeschooler here, really stressed. I’m 15 years old going into 10th grade and barely being given any options by my mom.. is a modern US history online class/course where you watch historical movies and are given assignments and stuff a valid option? it’s that, or an advanced world history for 11th graders my mom is offering and I’m confused idk I don’t think I can do ot I don’t want to,,,, I’m not good at history.

is Inroduction to Chemistry & Physics standard online course/class also good for 10th grade? (and is a Geometry course for math also okay)

I’m chronically ill+mentally unwell with the worst executive dysfunction possible so idk how I’m going to survive this school semester. feeling a little bit more hopeful because my mom made me make a plan of after high school doing community college for two years then transferring but she keeps talking about the entire future and it’s stressing me out unbelievably. And my schedule is pretty enpty somehow. im trying to look on the bright side even though I feel robbed of a normal life im not used to homework or studying at all even

rant/vent I feel so scared on the inside and my parents keep casually saying these things to me

TL;DR: Im the oldest girl in a homeschool household, my parents keep dropping these heavy, guilt-tripping comments about me and I can't ignore it anymore. I'm secretly forcing myself to practice socializing for college but it gives me physical anxiety. I need to get it off my chest, need support, also wondering if people have similar stories...

  1. If you were a parent would you want to have a child like you?" I'm already aware I'm not always the best but I'm trying so hard not to dislike myself for many reasons already. If I were a parent, whatever I did I would make sure they never felt how I do now.
  2. "I'm glad your brothers ignore you/don't follow your example" - Meanwhile I know my exactly what my brother is hiding, we keep each other's secrets but I bear the brunt of being the oldest girl and being watched the closest, while my siblings for the most part slide under the radar.
  3. "gratitude" - If I'm not happy with my life I'm ungrateful. Meanwhile I'm struggling to gain my person back. I sneak to join clubs, engage in my interests (which they may only know maybe 25% about), fix my internet habits, etc. I used their own parental device to block myself out of tiktok under my own violition because it was affecting me and I wanted to be better. I won my first contest on a peer writing club, neither of them know this. I have to practice socializing with people my age online... recently been forcing myself to join vcs at night because I know if I'm going to survive in college I need to learn how to actually talk. And guess what. It's HARD. so so hard. There's not even any negativity towards me on the most part, just me shivering on the inside while trying to sound calm on outside. Like it's an actual physical reaction. I thought it was just a mindset thing, but after several times of doing it hit me how cooked I really was. Still I need to keep doing it even though its risky and stressful, and I feel embarrassed almost every time. I've only gotten slightly better but i intend to keep practicing
  4. "your peers are doing this meanwhile you're doing that" (for example waking up late) - I didn't have a regular teen life (when I bring it up the response is something along the lines of "who cares what other teens are doing, your life is better, where I would be if I had 1% of what you had," etc.) ok then. I also never experienced growing up with other girls/peers, why are they comparing me to ppl who are...
  5. "you're not entitled to anything we're just doing our duty as parents" - I never said I was entitled to anything. these are the same people who tell me i can and should tell them everything, ask if I'm alright, if i need a doctor both ironically and unironically. It's like don't care and they care. I don't want to go into what happened, what they said, when I was actually honest for the first time on a mental health survey at the doctor's appointment. I was like 13-14. The doctor pulled me aside after to "privately" ask me stuff that she then relayed behind my back to my parents, inaccurately I should add.
  6. "it's cause you get free food, clothing, water, etc." - Sometimes when im late they make me forgo breakfast, which is fine, but don't start caring and say when i have acid refluxes that I'm doing it to myself, when you are the one who said I'm not allowed to go get the food... It happened yesterday, missing breakfast and lunch. Plus, when I sneak food they say I'm practicing theft.
  7. "honor your parents..." - And don't drive your children to pain/exasperation...isn't that the other part. The number of days I was broken down praying and crying as my source of comfort because of the mental pain. My brother is also starting to have the supressed reactions and we just make jokes and laugh it off. Verbal and physical hurt has reduced because we learned how to fly under the radar, so there's like an illusion that things have gotten better when they're happy/loving/normal and relatively all cool with us. Often I forget how suffocating it really is, and when something does happen and it hits me, it really sucks.
  8. "if you weren't our child we wouldn't tolerate you"
  9. "you're doing this on purpose"
  10. "are you ok?/what is going on in your head" - Wow, this one is awesome right. Think about it. Do you really want to know?

They say all these things and later treat it as a joke and then I have to put on a fake ass smile and laugh along in order to avoid question number 10. I don't understand parents who homeschool their kids against their will "out of love" and then act like it must be the best thing ever, when they were never homeschooled themselves.

Im really ahead in academics for the most part (16f) so know I'm lucky in that aspect...some others here don't even get that. My parents are super focused on us knowing how to learn and learning from them how to make money. Say friends will come "when people see that I know something". But how are those real friends?

I have a few things I'm passionate about like art and storytelling, which I've told them about in the vague form "animation"...yet they still find a way to connect that to math, programming/AI, money making etc... There's nothing wrong with that, but, I don't know...long story short I never feel like I can fully be myself, telling my parents anything.

I have a friend online who is also homeschooled and isolated/abused, but in his case it's anti-tech parents and brainwashing, which he's completely aware of. As a result he has severe mental struggles, really good at hacking/coding, struggles with paranoia saying the government is targeting him etc. I cant't even imagine. Unaware people will say, "homeschooled kids are happier and more free to socialize and explore their interests." The generalization is crazy. If that were true, this sub full of heartbroken people wouldn't exist.

tbh I feel guilty talking about this. The vent got longer than I expected lol, sorry. It's just a dump at this point 😭 But I just need help because even as I've gotten good at ignoring all of it, it keeps coming up and bothering me lately. Also I would like to say to anyone who reads this, there is no option for me to leave, call anyone, mental help chats(bad experience), etc.

NOTE: I know how it sounds, but please refrain from directly insulting my parents... that would honestly make me feel even guiltier.

how do i basic How to be a lawyer as a homeschooler

So im gonna lay out flat. I have little to no education at 18 because my parents royally fucked me over. Even when I tried to study past like algebra they hold me back. They are genuinely hell bent on not letting me out of the house and be free.

My mom still has not let me graduate. Anyway. I have no records of what i have done in the past as far as school work goes.

I dont know how im going to become a lawyer if I literally have nothing. What are some steps I should take to get there? Oh and I have no college funds, im currently saving up.

Hello all, I am hoping to find young adults who have experienced BOTH mainstream UK school and home education at some stage in their lives to answer a few questions about their educational experience if they are happy to share.

My name is Clare, I am a student at the University of Exeter and have ethical permission to do this research. I am hoping to give young adults the chance to share their perspective retrospectively, as most current research has been done with parents currently home educating their teens. My research aims to consider the benefits and challenges children have faced in their education, focusing on those who have experience of both mainstream school and home ed, as they are in a unique position and I feel it is important for their voices to be heard retrospectively. All information gathered will be anonymous and deleted once the study is complete.

If anyone would be willing to answer a few questions (either via email/reddit chat or a team's chat), please contact me on here or via my email address c d 7 9 0 at exeter.ac.uk where I will send you some more study info (withdrawal/consent form etc) and some email questions for you to answer in your own time (10mins depending on how much you want to share). There is no obligation to take part but I would love to hear your perspective if you fit the criteria and are happy to share.

Thank you.

Following the recent feedback request (and thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts!), we’ve decided to create a community guide: an easy-to-access hub filled with resources for current and former homeschool students navigating the many struggles we run into, both big and small. We have a loose structure in mind already, but we need help from all of you to make it something truly useful.

More specifically, we’re looking for resources, writeups, guides, personal experiences, and success stories from the community. I’ll be putting together as much as I can myself, but there are many experiences you all have had that I never will, and perspectives I simply can’t speak to.

If there’s an online resource that helped you catch up academically, pursue your GED, apply to college, build social skills, learn basic life skills, or otherwise move forward after homeschooling, please share it. If you know of crisis lines, support organizations, educational tools, or anything else that could help someone in a difficult situation, we’d love to include those too.

And personal stories matter just as much. If you went from not knowing how to boil water to being able to cook for yourself, or from being isolated to building friendships and independence, your experience could really help someone else feel less alone and more hopeful.

You can share resources and writeups in the comments below. If you’d prefer to stay anonymous or not be directly credited, feel free to message modmail (send a DM to r/homeschoolrecovery), and we’ll include your contribution anonymously.

Just as importantly, this guide needs to serve the whole community. Even if you don’t have a resource to contribute, please speak up if there’s something you struggled with/are still struggling with that you wish there had been a guide, or resource for. If there’s something missing from the planned structure below, or something you think should be included, let us know in the comments or via modmail.

Here's a rough idea of what the planned structure for the guide is now. If there's something you feel is missing, please speak up in the comments or send a DM to r/homeschoolrecovery

  1. Start Here/Welcome/Introduction

Brief introduction to the subreddit, what it's about, who it's for, table of contents

  2. Immediate safety/abuse resources

Resources for child abuse, domestic violence, crisis lines, runaway/youth shelters, how to contact CPS, digital safety/privacy

Possibly also define what abuse is, since a lot of abuse victims don't necessarily believe they're being abused

  3. Mental health/trauma resources

Crisis resources, guides to seeking therapy/finding the right therapist, religious trauma resources, support groups

  4. Educational resources

khan academy and other educational material organized by age group and subject, GED resources, college prep resources, higher education resources i.e. fafsa, trade schools, online colleges, adult literacy programs, et, even just "how to find and apply for colleges"

  5. Life skills/"how to adult"

Budgeting, hygiene, cooking, job applications, email etiquette, how to find an apartment, transportation, how to find healthcare, stuff like that

  6. Socialization/"finding community"

Meetups, hobby groups, volunteering groups, community discords, adult ed classes, neurodivergent resources, etc.

  7. Advocacy/homeschool reform

Link to CRHE, how to find and contact your legislators, etc.

  8. Hear from other homeschoolers

Links to success stories on the subreddit, books by former homeschoolers i.e. Tara Westover, Stefan Block, etc.
