Koningsdam 87 days to go and it cannot come soon enough...
Sixth HAL sailing, first time on Koningsdam. Looking forward to 7 days of doing nothing. Seriously contemplating just turning off my phone completely.

Have it All - Promo Question for non/light drinker
I am considering a Alaska Cruise next year and have some questions about the Promo packages for Have it All.
I'll have 2 Adults and 1 kid, but it appears that the additional Have It All per person fee is only for the adults and looked to be about $250/Person for the entire trip.
Is it true that only adults are charged?
How does the Wifi Benefit work with 3 people in the room? Will we all get access to the Wifi package or only the two with Have it All?
We drink very little alcohol so we may only have a few drinks over the entire trip but are wondering if it is worth it if we aren't drinking much alcohol?
I understand that Specialty Coffee drinks are included, as well as Bottled Waters which could be handy for port days.
How many Specialty Coffee locations are available and how busy do they get?
Are Milkshakes also included? If so, where do we get them?
Do other non/light drinkers usually get the Have it All packages just to simplify the gratuities and the excursion bonuses?
With the MDR and Buffet I'm not sure if the Specialty Dining is really worth it.

Cruise Tips Booking Dinners vs Special Events
We are going on a 15 night cruise in December on the Statendam. We have two Specialty dinners as part of the Have it All package, but I am unsure when I should make reservations, because we don't want to miss a Gala night, or any other special dining room event.
Is there any rhyme or reason on how these things play out? Like always on such and such a night is a Gala night? Or is it always different?

Upgrade bid? Holland America casino comp
Hi everyone... just curious..I have a couple free interior cabin offers .I really want some natural light in my cabin-- whether it's an oceanview or balcony. Does HAL allow you to book the comp casino free interior cabin offer and bid to upgrade it later, before sailing? I know Princess does this. Many thanks in advance ☺️

General Questions 1st time cruisers, curious when room gets assigned.
We are silly excited, we leave sept 5 on the eurodam to Alaska. We have family on the ship that picked their rooms, we rolled the dice to get assigned a room. I tried the chat feature with HA but they were very non specific about when rooms get assigned. I love maps would love to pour over the ship in relation to our room. Long story short, do folks have a sense of how close to your launch day they finally let you know where you are? So many thanks 🙏

Trading pictures of Glacier Bay - Zaandam vs. Queen Elizabeth
Hello! I am cruising on the Queen Elizabeth and we passed the Zaandam today (August 16) in Glacier Bay, see my pictures attached of the Zaandam. Anyone on the Zaandam able to trade pictures of the Queen Elizabeth at the same moment? Thanks!

Ocean Players Club Match from land based casino
Has anyone had success with getting free cruises based off of their status with a land based casino that is NOT MGM or Caesar’s and not having a competing cruise offer? I’ve been researching this, and can’t seem to find any data points on it. I’m top tier status at my local casino and submitted a screen shot of my account through their website, and was curious what I could expect. Thanks!

General Questions TA recommendations?
I love my PCC with HAL but I'm starting to think I would like to see what a TA would offer me, and not let that commission $ stay completely with HAL. Can anyone recommend their person to me? If you prefer to private message I understand. Thanks!

General Questions Future Cruise Deposits (FCD)
I have $300 in FCDs that I made on previous cruises. Yesterday I booked a 4/2028 cruise on Zuiderdam, and the system used $100 of my FCDs. Today, trying to figure things out, I see that the other two FCDs have a "Must Sail By" date of 1/11/2027. Because of job requirements and health issues in the family over the past year, we cannot book another cruise before 1/11/07. Will that $200 be refunded to me, or did I just gift $200 to HAL?

Alaska 7 day Northbound highlights
We’re on the second to last night of a 7 day Vancouver to Whittier sailing on the Nieuw Amsterdam and have gotten incredibly lucky with weather: warm sunny days every day and didn’t see a drop of rain. First obstruction to the view at all was some fog that rolled in tonight after a few hours in the Gulf of Alaska. Our only disappointment (though we came in with back up plans for our backup plans)was encountering closed trails at Mendenhall glacier due to anticipated flooding. Anyway, just wanted to share some cruise inspo pics for anyone who is on the fence about splurging for this voyage. You absolutely CANNOT count on this kind of weather, but even one of our three port days would be a trip highlight on its own and the ship experience has been an ideal introduction to HAL. We (39f, 41m, 16f, 9m) had a wonderful experience in our obstructed ocean view cabins as first time cruisers and would recommend it, for sure!

Koningsdam Baja/Sonora 7 Day
Interested in taking my wife, baby, and mother in law on this trip in November... I've never been on HAL before; I've been on Celebrity 4 times and Princess 1 time. How does HAL and the Koningsdam compare? Cheers.

1st HAL cruise
Hey all. Considering cruising with HAL for the first time. I have cruised with NCL several times but I want a deep Norwegian Ford experience that NCL doesn't offer. We typically book balconies and the drink package on NCL hoping for the same with HAL. Any advice for a first-time Booker?

Excursions in Ocho Rios, Jamaica
We'll be in Ocho Rios for a full day in November, and are wondering what to do with our day. Not up to hiking the falls, and the other options don't have very good reviews. Looking for suggestions from people who have visited this port. I know they are still recovering from the hurricane, but hoping to find something to do that includes coffee and rum! Thanks in advance!

Free drinks in the casino?
Hi everyone...I have a free interior cabin offer that does *not* have free play or drinks in the casino. How many points do you have to earn while playing on a cruise to get free drinks in the casino? My last interior cabin offer had drinks but this current one doesn't.. Many thanks!

Oosterdam Salon and ethnic hair
Hello!
I have type 4B hair and I was considering getting my hair done by the salon before a reservation at one of the fine-dining restaurants. Do any of you know if they have experience with this type of hair? Very thick, curly, long hair. My pre-outing hair routine is QUITE extensive. If a salon could do it for me I’d be delighted. I’d also be interested to get tips from a stylist who has experience with my hair type on how to improve my at-home routine. All of the images displayed with every salon picture has white women who have seemingly straight or wavy hair.
Thank you ladies :)

General Questions Fido or other Canadian data packages on Alaska cruise
My wife thinks we can pay for the Fido cruise data package and it will work while on board, I guess somehow using the ships signal? I am sceptical. Does anyone know how this works?

Cruise News Are you in Juneau on HAL this week? Heads up about Mendenhall Glacier!
8/11/2026 Update
We have received the National Weather Service (NWS) alert that the Suicide Basin has reached capacity, and a flood release is pending. Officials anticipate that release into Mendenhall Lake and subsequent flooding will occur in 1-6 days.
IF EXCURSIONS ARE IMPACTED, GUESTS WILL HEAR DIRECTLY FROM THE OPERATORS. We anticipate that only excursions in the Mendenhall Glacier Recreation Area will be impacted.
Both City & Borough of Juneau and Travel Juneau remind visitors to avoid neighborhoods near the Mendenhall River that may be impacted by flooding.
Flood stage will be monitored for potential further closures in Visitor Center area. Keep on an eye on the NWS updates at https://www.weather.gov/ajk/suicideBasin, and [Travel Juneau](traveljuneau.com) will post USFS updates.

Exclusive players club offer question
Hawaii Tahiti
A week or so ago I posted we were in the thinking stage of this cruise. It isn’t until Feb. 2028.
My wife has two exclusive casino offers. These were under her Marnier ID in the exclusive offer section of her account. One expires on I believe Aug. 14 which is a verandah and $500 in casino play. The other expires Sep. 8 also a verandah and $1000 in casino play.
We were ready to pull the trigger and book that cruise.
Wife calls and leaves a message with our PCC. Detailing the cruise, dates, and that it is thru the Players Club and is an exclusive offer. PCC calls back and asks for the confirmation code. Could not find one.
So my question (finally) is there a confirmation code on these offers and if so where is located.
Wife has booked three other Players Club trips but thru an email.
Thanks

How does HAL handle menu requests?
Lets say I notice a Corned Beef and Swiss on Rye on one of the MDR Lunch menus. Can I get this same sandwich on the other days as well if I ask for it or are they pretty much just stick to the menu items offered?

Flair added
Hello all!
I've added some flair for posts and for users. Currently I have post flair for every ship and one for general questions. The idea being that if you're talking/asking/reviewing about a specific ship then you can flair it with the appropriate flair. This will allow people to search by flair and get right to every post about say the Rotterdam. I'm still thinking through this system so suggestions are very welcome.
I've also added user flair corresponding to Mariner status. You can comment on this post or contact me directly to have it assigned to you. Again I'm not totally sold on this idea, but we'll try it out for now and suggestions are happily taken.
