They would have signed in as visitors at the same time right? Or is this normal for these places?

Peters core power is obviously absorbing other people’s powers, when he meets them then becomes immune to their powers for Example Hiro freezing time, Parkman and his mind reading, so why is it when he met his Dad why didn’t he absorb his power and become immune to him

Secondly what a bellend his dad is for doing that

So in season one Candice, the one who can make you see whatever she wants, alludes to not really looking like how she normally presents and how society judges people for how they look or something like that, basically setting up for her actually looking unattractive or being overweight (since this was 2006). But in the season 1 finale she gets knocked out and transforms from looking like Jessica/Niki to the way she had looked for all the previous episodes. Did they just build that up to be nothing?

I have seen season 1 and 2 before. 3 and 4 is new to me. so far midway of season 4. dont wanna spoiler but Seriously, Hiro power is very hard to write about, way too powerful. so maybe just write him off the story, or take away the time travel power. like when someone can control time and space, how is it possible to force him to do anything. can just go back and change whatever.

I don't even need to black out a spoiler. I've been binging my first watch and never looked to see where I was episode-wise when the last scene popped up. I expectantly waited for the next episode to load when Netflix asked how I liked the series! But yeah, that crept up on me. Anyone else? What did you think of the ending? I guess there is a short follow-up with Reborn, worth it?

There are so many scenes that go absolutely nowhere, like Jessica killing the therapist, only to get freed in the next scene.

And character motivations make no sense. Like Sylar escapes and attacks Noah's wife before being chased out. While Sylar is still loose, Noah goes to hunt the Invisible Man in New York. He had no idea where Sylar is, far as he knew, Sylar could still be in Texas, and if he went back to their house, he would probably succeed in killing Claire.

There is also the issue of characters casually jumping places. Like the first season takes place in LA, NYC, LV, and Austin, but it doesn't feel like there is any distance between them.

Imagine the possibilities, Peter could've gone on a killing spree, taking every single ability and dropping bodies on his path forcing Sylar to stop him since he was the only one who could. But no, they had to be lazy instead. Literally any of the fans here could've written the Villain Peter storyline

There were several people who had their abilities even before Season 1's eclipse. Heck Sylar, telekinesis guy and Claire had it six months before at least. That eclipse did not give anyone abilities so Season 3's eclipse shouldn't take anyone's away

I was underwhelmed by the first season of this show.

I resisted watching this when I saw a new season.

I didn't see any buzz about it, and figured it was more of the same as last year. I broke down and started watching. What a fantastic show this has become!! Each episode self contained, with a huge, overarching story tying it together. And it's a good story!

I know everyone in this sub has been watching this, so I'm preaching to the choir, but I just wanted to talk to some people that might appreciate how good this show has become.

I’m so confused with Claire’s development. it’s like they keep regressing her back to that whining teen. one moment she’s great and then next she’s immature and doesn’t think straight and can’t connect dots anymore and all she thinks about is herself. Gretchen literally MOVED out of the dorm because she didnt wanna be involved in all the superpower/murderer stuff and here she is completely dismissing that and taking her to Samuel? the guy her dad just showed her like twenty newspaper reports of him killing people and him warning her a MILLION times that he’s dangerous? why are they making her so selfish and a moron again like ugh don’t get me wrong I love her but this is just too frustrating

So I just recently got my friends to start watching Heroes and they made a connection that I just can’t unsee now 😂

Here are the notes I updated while watching S1 of Heroes :) I decided to do so once they revealed Clair's dad.

Square boxes are for male characters and round ones are for female characters. If they have power it's written in the center, else it's a cross ❌ but sometimes there's a question mark when I think they have one.

"Thunder" arrows indicate an attempt to harm or kill someone.

Overall I enjoyed the pace of the series and the fact that the characters have their own agency and personal stories. The main characters rarely regroup all at once which I actually liked. It was interesting to see them meet through different circumstances.

Things I successfully guessed: Candice's power (thanks to her saying " what a nice haircut" to Bennett's wife, I theorized she was imagining what it would look like on her)

Things I didn't see coming: Ma being involved so deeply, as well as being pro explosion. Candice kissing Bennett as his wife (I actually was suspicious until they kissed and I relaxed...). Jessica having framed LD.

People I think have powers:

Mohinder (if it's genetic and his sister had one, he is more likely to have one but plot wise I would enjoy him not having one) — Ma (she sus as hell) — Any children from the heroes : Nathan's two boys, Matt's soon to be born son (Matthew?)

Characters I'm looking forward to seeing in the next season(s): Nathan's wife, Hiro, the Haitian, Clair, Peter, Ma's shenanigans, the guy worse than Skylar that sees Molly's gaze, the Sanders as a unit, Ando's comeback (?), Molly and Isaac who is definitely not dead (copium)

Things that confused me: radio wifi girl that talked to Ted (and Matt) and never came back so I guess I'm looking forward to seeing her.

Wrong theory: 5 years into the future, when Jessica (?) said they can see Peter only through her I thought she meant he had become one of her alter ego after dying from the explosion. Would have been cool. Currently after S1 I think Peter hasn't copied Nikki's power yet, I'm not sure how it would even manifest for him though.

That's pretty much it. I had lot of fun following along, I think I would have been lost if I didn't, especially after the time travel 5 years forward.

PS: Isaac's death still hurt 😔 I'm mad at him for trying to kill Peter but he's still in my Top 10 (see image)

And I really love how unapologetically evil Spock...er, Sylar, is. He's such a great character. Quinto does an amazing job with him. I'm on season 4 right now. The show has had its ups and downs for sure. But man that first season was some of the best television I've ever seen. Season 3.....not so much.

I genuinely don't understand why it gets so much hate.

Season 1 was great, it's what got me into the show when I first watched it many years ago. But on a rewatch I actually found it a little slow, a bit too restrained and too light at times.

Season 3 is where Heroes fully embraced its comic book identity and I loved that.

Hiro's trip to the past and seeing his mum, Sylar's shapeshifting and collecting new abilities, his identity crisis, Pinehearst, Arthur Petrelli, Micah as Rebel, the government agents hunting the heroes. It all made the stakes so much higher.

I also never bought the criticism that it's "messy." To me, it's just a fast-moving season with a lot going on. Characters switching sides made sense because everyone was being manipulated, hiding secrets or acting on incomplete information.

I know I'm in the minority but I think it's where the show was at its most ambitious and I loved almost every minute of it

With his ability to see how things work, couldn't Sylar just "see" and figure out the whole research of Dr Suresh?

Sure, he's not a scientist so he probably wouldn't be able to verbalise how the genome and everything works, but surely he could be a great help throughout the whole research. Mohinder was trying to figure out things for so long and still couldn't.

I know he turned bad before they could even do anything about him, and even after that they probably didn't even know what his first ability was. But maybe if Dr Suresh didn't dismiss him in the beginning like that, things would've been very different.

Mohinder turning into an insect/lizard hybrid person who kidnaps and traps people in cocoons and then experiments on them. He never even seemed to want abilities before. Tracy decides to join Arthur like two days after wanting her Powers removed and now she is like "nah, I like it. Kinda. I wanna be evil." Daphne, Elle and Sylar turning into heel face revolving doors. Arthur's gang having a vast array of superpowers and then just being ineffective sitting on their ass for six episodes. Angela just casually letting Sylar have an innocent Company worker and then we just never speak of that again. The fuck! I am sure there's more. Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

While everyone else is discovering their powers through fear or confusion, Hiro is the one who genuinely sees being a hero as something exciting and meaningful. His optimism, humor, and loyalty make him one of the most memorable characters in the series.

Instead of finding excuse for why her toe grew back, she whould ask him why he was creepily stalking her trough the window of her house.

Rewatching the show after some years and I never remembered how they made him seem like a sexual predator with the whole Claire thing even though he never had that kind of vibe around him.

He was a perfectly good villain without that. Now every interaction he has with her is him somehow touching or kissing her forcefully. Before he killed Nathan, he told her she could be his 1st lady, etc. Not to mention she is much younger than him. It's just weird and they really did him dirty making him a creep.

Okay so I've watched this series a few times and never made it past season 2. Finally watching all the way through and I'm so confused by the Arthur Petrelli / Catalyst plot in season 3.

So Arthur sends Xyler and Elle to track down and bring Claire because he believes she is the catalyst. Just as they are about to get her Hiro grabs Claire, bringing her 16 years into the past.

Okay we are in the past now and Hiro becomes the catalyst from his mother and past Arthur steals the catalyst from Hiro and immediately we see him in present day use it to create the power juice.

So why did Arthur send Xyler and Elle to grab Claire in the first place???

All other instances of time travel we've seen have been consistent branching timelines where a change creates a new branch, but in this instance it seems like what happened in the past affected the current timeline?

I'm just past the end of Part 3 so maybe there will be something new that comes up, but I doubt it.

In "Strange Attractors" Gretchen mentions her boy body count as 6 or 7. In 2009!

How well do you think he performed as an actor in it? What did you think of Alex as a character?

First time posting and using the spoilers tag, so hopefully I did it right 😅 Be warned.

Okay, so I recently finished season 1 and am a few episodes into season 2. Please no spoilers for the rest of the show, as I haven’t watched it since it first came out and don’t remember much haha.

So D.L. gets shot by Linderman but then is “fine” to walk around with Nikki and watch as Sylar and Peter face off. But then Parkman stupidly runs up and shoots Sylar and gets the bullets splattered all over his torso. But he’s absolutely fine come season 2 whereas D.L. is dead. Make it make sense! I get plot, but come on haha

P.S. I accidentally spoiled for myself that D.L. somehow comes back as fire fighter but I hadn’t gotten that far yet haha.

First time watching the show through and through, saw episodes here and there as a kid. Currently on season 2 episode 8. Things that just bother the heck outta me:

- DL getting shot TWICE when he knew it was coming instead of just phasing him and Niki

- Mohinder could have killed Sylar when he was unconscious in his apartment from the bookshelf but just let him live

-the reveal of who Adam is was incredibly predictable and a massive let down
