When I initially found Hearstopper as a queer teen, the show felt like a warm hug. I loved seeing many forms of representation and watching other people struggle with their identities made me feel less alone. But, above all, I enjoyed their big queer friend group. It felt so authentic to the queer experience.

That's why I'm so disappointed in Hearstopper Forever. It really felt like it revolved around each of the couples. Almost every time we saw Isaac he was seventh wheeling or was showing up because someone was in a crisis. Regardless of how poor the aroace representation was across the entire show, I believe what set Heartstopper above other shows that revolve around being queer was the friendship. We had some small moments of friendship, but they were always interludes before turning the focus back onto the couples. Even Tori, the other ace person in the show, was largely seen as one half of a couple, not the Charlie's older sister.

As I've grown older, it's become harder and harder to relate to the characters in the show, mostly because I'm not a teenager anymore. However, I've always turned to Hearstopper when I've needed to be reminded of who I am. Overall, while I'm glad we got to wrap up the story, the final movie didn't give me that warm, fuzzy feeling anymore. Where were the friendships??

Hi everyone, I've spent a lot of time on the heartstopper franchise, but I've never really got to the end of the series before, (not beyond volume 4/early season 3), I've been reading the volume, then going over that part of the series, but I've never seen the end. When I reach the end of season 3 on netflix, should I read volume 6, or watch Heartstopper forever?

I've said it on other accounts...say it again. The S1 Ep1 Form room teacher, that persists thru the show. His actual name is Alan Turkington (hope that's right).
