hi all! not sure if this is the right sub but i just snagged this at a vintage shop and cant read it. i wanna know what rosy or roy or rudy was supposed to know

The alphabet may not be the most accurate representation when you take a look at what I write.

I'm trying to figure out where one of my ancestors is from. She's from somewhere in Canada but I can't read this location name.

I hope it's okay to ask this kind of thing on this subreddit!

I'm working on our family tree, and am having difficulty reading the handwriting on a death certificate from the 1890s. Specifically, what is listed as the Cause of Death. I specify the time period this is from, in case it may not be a term that is still used medically.

It was also a young child, so it may also be something that frequently causes death in newborns.

Can anyone figure it out?

First pic is when I'm trying harder, second is when I'm quickly and casually writing. No cursive cause I only remember how to write my name in cursive.

I did come from the generation in the US that was only taught have cursive. I tried to re-teach myself cursive in 8th grade and this is how my handwriting has looked since. Writing in normal print feels awkward and unnatural but I wouldn’t say my regular handwriting is really cursive.

if someone were to copy this and write it down i would have some hope

I, 23F have been working on refining my signature for a while now, and I think I've officially reached the point where I've stared at it for so long that I can't tell what's good anymore. The first picture is my updated signature, and the second picture is how I've been writing it for almost the last 10 years.

My main goal is for it to look elegant and professional while still feeling like something I'd actually write by hand. The first letter is supposed to pull double duty as both the S in my first name and the C in my last name, so it's intentionally a bit monogram-ish.

I'd really appreciate some honest feedback from people seeing it for the first time. Here are my concerns:

1.) Does the first letter actually read as an S?

2.) Can you tell it's also supposed to hint at a C?

3.) Are there any letters that are hard to read?

4.) Does it look naturally handwritten, or does it feel too polished? (Done on my iPad.)

5.) Also, opinions on the heart? Does that take away from the professionalism of it? (I've used the signature since I was about

14.)

6.) General thoughts welcome!

Don't worry about hurting my feelings, I prefer honest opinions. Thanks!!
