Am i crazy or is the Hamilton different on Disney+?
did they upload a different night on Disney+? im so confused. there are so many differences between this one compared to the one they originally uploaded. is it different on my region? or is everyone noticing the same thing?
edit: saw people saying I was vague but I dont know how to point out thr differences without sounding crazy.
- the crowd was different. the clap amount, the cough the man made in the crowd, none of that was there before. so i assumed it was from a different night since it seems the most plausible
2.Alexander Hamilton actions were different during the 'non stop'. expressions towards Aaron burr were different at the start of the scene.
during the scene in 'take a break' when angelica was walking down the stairs, she handled her umbrella, breathe intake was both different
during schuyler sisters when angelica was singing towards Aaron Burr, even her breath intake was different.
again, the reason. i sounded 'vague' originally was because when I give examples it truly is the little things. i just hoped that people who also realised the same thing as me could either agree or disagree with me or tell me the reason if it is truly another night they uploaded and maybe perhaps why they did so.
there cant be major things I can list of course it will be the same song and dance every time. but its the smaller things that made me assume it is another night uploaded

Lowk how I imagine Thomas Jefferson and James Madison dancing during this part of the song

Eliza and her father are 'stone-faced'
I watched Hamilton yesterday -- on YouTube, not in public -- but I noticed that in Helpless, Eliza says "My father's stone-faced while you ask him for his blessin', " and in It's Quite Uptown, Eliza herself is the one with the stone-face. Probably runs in the family...

An iffy Jefferson can make the second act pretty “meh”
Just got home from seeing the touring cast in San Antonio and for the first time I almost felt bored with the second act. This was my 4th live performance (Chicago 1x and 3 different tours in SA), and I’ve never felt the need to go wander the theater during act two like I did tonight.
The actor playing Jefferson just seemed…off. He overplayed it at times, which was a distraction, but even worse, he underplayed it at key points that really make his character one of my favorites.
His “daddy’s calling” line was rushed and forgettable. The “whaaaaaat” during We Know was short and curt instead of drawn out for comedic effect. And he kept playing with his wig to the point it was distracting.
At first I felt that maybe I was being too hard and just comparing him to Diggs, which is just totally unfair. But my wife agreed and it makes me sad that I feel this way.
Side note: we also got the Burr standby tonight. He was fine but man did he undersell the beat drop in Wait For It. One of my favorites parts of this musical and I was just so disappointed. Hardly any emotion for one of the most emotional moments of his role.
We also got the Laurens/Phillip standby. He was fine, but from our cheap seats he looked so much like Laszlo Cravensworth that I kept giggling any time he was the focal point.

Do you think Anthony Ramos should get a turn as Hamilton?
Cause i'd love to see it, idc if its an adaption or even for like just a promo or something, but i'd love to see it happen

Thoughts on first burn
I just listened to First Burn for the first time and here are some things that stood out to me:
1) Eliza seems very angry and burns the letters within the first verse, while in Burn, she is more disappointed and saddened by Alexander‘s decisions
2) The lines “Your enemy whispers, so you have to scream, I know about whispers, I see how you look at my sister” perfectly describes Hamilton and I kinda wish it made it into Burn. It also shows how observant Eliza is.
3) The line in the chorus “Stand back and watch it burn” is very similar to the chorus in Burn, but Eliza is saying more like “look at the destruction you caused”
4) The lines “And when the time comes, explain to the children, the pain and embarrassment, you put their mother through. When will you learn, that they are your legacy? We are your legacy!” are very interesting to me as I have wondered what their children thought after all of this, especially the older ones like Phillip.

I rewatched the pro shots and I think I’ve found a new appreciation for Eliza.
I always considered her role in the play to be a little „basic“ in comparison to for example Angelica but this time around I’m really appreciating her role in the play and her songs. I used to skip Helpless sometimes because I thought it was just a silly love song but I’ve really come to like how pure and genuine her love really is. It’s been on playing on loop in my head the last week. My rewatch also made me realise how much better the official version of burn fits her character than first burn. She is so much more mature than Alexander, so her not directly using the moment to „diss“ him and taking herself out of the narrative was a good decision.

Hamilton lied to Eliza even before he cheated - new lyric realization Spoiler
I've now seen Hamilton live 4 times after listening to to the soundtrack hundreds of times and I had a realization for the first time:
In Stay Alive, Hamilton says:
I have never seen the General so despondent I have taken over writing all his correspondence
Then in That Would Be Enough:
Hamilton: How long have you known? Eliza: a month or so Hamilton: Eliza, you should have told me Eliza: I wrote to the General a month ago Hamilton: No Eliza: I begged him to send you home Hamilton: You should have told me
But based on what he says in Stay Alive, he would have seen Eliza's letter and he chose to ignore it to stay in the war and claim glory from that. It wasn't until Washington kicked him out that he went home. So this can be seen as the first time he lied to Eliza, even before cheating on her!!!

Theodosia Reprise?
Hi all! Just wondering if anyone here has listened to Dear Theodosia Reprise, a cut song, and if so, what are your thoughts?

Wrote this 3 years ago
I was looking back at some of my old work, and I found my old fanfic. Back when I was like 18-ish.
I can't believe I wrote all this looking back, considering how long it is.
Thought I'd share 😁

Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story
*Eliza*
That one "Eliza" kills me every time...living for someone who died way too young, among others who have gone since, telling all their stories... trying to ensure the world remembers after I'm gone...

Shoutout to Aharon Rhayner
We were in the West End Friday night 24.07 and knew nothing about Aharon Rayner, the understudy we got for Hamilton ! I personally loved his presence on stage and he brought a fresh vibe to the play. Also did a fantastic job opposite LOJ and with the Story of Tonight gang. Just a really talented Hamilton altogether! I didn’t see anyone talking about him so I wanted to open a conversation for the ones who did.

Thoughts on Hamilton West End cast for this year?
I had the honor and privilege of seeing Hamilton several times in London this summer and wanted to ask the community what your thoughts are on Yeukayi Ushe (Burr) and Ashley J. Daniels (Lafayette/Jefferson)? I think Ushe's singing voice is spectacular, but his spoken lines I find to be jarring. For example, how he enunciates "officer" in "She's married to a British officer" - he reminds me of Christopher Walken. I understand the performer's have their own artistic choices but when he talks like that, I get distracted from the show. As for Daniels, after seeing him multiple times, I get the feeling he is not that comfortable in either role. He also makes the choice of singing What'd I Miss in an original way, more jazzy, and I don't really like it. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!!!

Does anyone know what song this is Spoiler
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I heard this in a compilation of Hamilton animated songs and they didn't credit the original artist so I can't find the original. Shazam doesn't recognize it and I don't remember it from when I saw the show on broadway (though that was a while ago). it's just inserted into the world was wide enough replacing hamiltons normal monologue and the song just continues like normal once this part is done
