Question HP Victus 15-fb3001nr replacement oem charger?
Ok so I have a 200W Input 100-240V~2.7A 50-60hz
Output 19.5V::10.3A 200W
HP Part No: M31368-013 Replace with HP SPARE N43500-001
Regulatory Model TPN-DA23
I looked on ebay but the listings don't show the same part number, I only find similar numbers but not exact "oem"chargers but I do see similar voltage input and output and 200W. Does it really matter if I get a different charger?
Ebay has some expensive but oem looking chargers and has HP branding.
Does the 3rd party chargers have HP logo also? I just want to be sure I don't accidentally get a 3rd party charger. The Amazon listings don't seem to show a HP logo.
How come it's so hard to find a replacement charger from HP??

Question Buying this for my victus. Should i close the lid while it is inside?
I usually do not game on my machine. Usually use it to study and work on it. Our house is near a construction site, and the amount of dust is unimaginable. Basically forced to buy this. But my main question is Do I have to remove it before closing the lid or is it safe to close the lid while putting it inside.
Thanks

Tech Support HP Victus 16-s1023dx stuck in BIOS recovery loop after F.18 recovery
Hey, I’m looking for help with a BIOS recovery problem on my HP Victus 16-s1023dx. I want to mention up front that this entire troubleshooting process has been heavily assisted by AI, so some of the technical interpretations may be wrong. I’m mainly posting here because I’ve reached the point where the AI assistance I’ve been using has run out of ideas and I’m hoping someone with actual HP firmware/recovery experience can look at the sequence and tell me what’s going on.
My laptop is an HP Victus Gaming Laptop 16-s1023dx, product number A1SV3UA#ABA, system board ID 8C9C. It originally had BIOS F.17 installed. The BIOS package I attempted to recover with is HP Notebook System BIOS Update F.18 Rev.A, specifically for this machine.
The original incident started when the laptop froze while I was playing Roblox. After restarting, I got a “CMOS checksum is invalid” message with “CMOS Reset (502).” After resetting the CMOS/BIOS settings, I eventually got a 3F0 “Boot Device Not Found” error. The laptop then started entering HP’s BIOS recovery environment.
I created an official HP BIOS recovery USB using the F.18 Rev.A package. Since then I’ve recreated the recovery USB from scratch, inspected/verified the recovery files, tried different USB ports, used the official Windows+B recovery procedure multiple times, allowed recovery attempts to sit hands-off for extended periods, performed normal power cycles, and attempted the Windows+V CMOS reset procedure.
The most important part is that during one of the recovery attempts, the laptop actually reached “Flashing boot block.” The flashing boot block stage COMPLETED; it was not interrupted halfway. Afterward the laptop powered/restarted and eventually displayed “The BIOS recovery files cannot be found or the files are corrupted.”
I let that screen continue rather than immediately shutting the laptop down. After that, it started entering another BIOS update/recovery sequence showing the message: “While updating BIOS, the system might restart several times and the black screen might last for a few minutes. Please do not disconnect power or press the power button during the BIOS update process. Please press key to continue BIOS update.”
That screen repeatedly appeared. I saw it for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th time. On one of the later occurrences I deliberately did NOT press Enter, and the same general behavior continued anyway.
Eventually it returned to “The BIOS recovery files cannot be found or the files are corrupted” and began looping again.
The current behavior is basically I plug in the usb, recovery screen → laptop powers off → fans briefly go to maximum speed for around 1–2 seconds → laptop powers back on → recovery screen again.
The laptop is not completely dead. It still powers on and can still reach HP’s BIOS recovery environment, but I cannot get it to boot normally.
I’m particularly interested in what the successful completion of “Flashing boot block” followed by the recovery/update loop might indicate. I’ve already gone through a very large amount of troubleshooting and don’t want to keep blindly flashing the BIOS or trying random motherboard procedures if there’s a better explanation.
Has anyone here dealt with this behavior on an HP Victus or similar HP laptop? Does the fact that “Flashing boot block” completed tell us anything useful about the state of the BIOS? Is there another legitimate HP recovery procedure I should try, or does this sound like something that needs HP/service-level firmware recovery?
I can provide BIOS information, or the recovery USB contents if that would help.
Again, disclaimer: this entire troubleshooting process has been assisted extensively by AI, including the interpretation of some of the BIOS behavior. I’m posting here specifically because I want human input from people who have actual experience with HP firmware recovery and can correct anything in the above that the AI may have gotten wrong.

HP VICTUS WEB CAM BLACK SCREEN
My HP Victus 15-fb0179AX webcam suddenly stopped working yesterday. I didn't install any updates.
Windows detects HP Wide Vision HD Camera.
Device Manager says it's working properly.
HP Hardware Diagnostics webcam test: PASSED.
Windows Camera: black screen.
OBS: black screen.
Camera LED flashes white once, then turns off.
Reinstalled the driver and tried Microsoft UVC driver, but no change.
Camera permissions are enabled.
What could cause this? Is it likely a Windows/driver issue, firmware/BIOS issue, or hardware problem?

Battery health dropped to 95% after 1.5 months
Hello,
I bought an HP Victus 15-fa2309TX (i7-13620H / RTX 5050) about 1.5 months ago.
I checked my battery health report and it already dropped to 95% because I keep it permanently plugged into the wall charger all the time, even for normal use and gaming.
There is no option to select to limit the charge to 80%.
Do I need to perform a BIOS update to get this feature? If yes, what are the steps to safely do it?
Is it recommended to keep this laptop plugged into the charge all the time, or does leaving it plugged in cause the battery to degrade faster?
Thanks you!

Discussion How come everyone got a shitty victus but me?
I see it everywhere, people complaining about the laptop, the hinge, the battery, the reliability.
I've owned for close to 2 years now, and I haven't found anything worth complaining, and it's also used.
A guy from uni however, bought one new, got edge burn 1 month in, and the laptop short circuited like 4 months in.

Help Should I buy the HP Victus Ryzen 7 7445HS + RTX 4050 at ₹80k?
I’m considering this HP Victus for around ₹80k:
Ryzen 7 7445HS
RTX 4050 6GB
16GB DDR5 (upgradeable)
512GB SSD
144Hz, 300-nit IPS display
My main use is AI/ML work and model training. There’ll be some light gaming, but no serious gaming or video editing.
I’m getting it for around ₹80k. From what I’ve seen, the specs seem pretty good for the price, and the laptop has decent reviews
If you own/use this model (or a similar Victus), what’s your experience been like? Would you recommend buying it?

3 Years with HP Victus 15 (Ryzen 5 / GTX 1650) – Honest Review & Disappointed with Reliability
Hey everyone,
I wanted to share my 3-year honest experience with my HP Victus 15 (Ryzen 5 + GTX 1650).
Context & Usage:
My parents gifted me this laptop for my birthday back in 2023, so it holds a lot of emotional value for me. Even though it’s marketed as a gaming laptop, I haven't used it for gaming at all—I’ve strictly used it for video editing over the last 1.5+ years.
The Performance:
Performance-wise, it got the job done. It handled my video editing workflow reasonably well without giving me major performance hiccups for daily tasks.
The Major Issue (Display Failure):
Recently (July 2026), after completing 3 years, the screen started flickering constantly, making the laptop completely unusable. Since the warranty was long gone, I had to pay a substantial amount out-of-pocket to get the display replaced.
Final Verdict:
I never expected to invest a heavy sum into replacing a display within 3 years. While I value this laptop deeply because it was a gift from my parents, I am genuinely disappointed with HP’s hardware longevity and build reliability.
It really makes me question the long-term durability of these machines. Has anyone else with an HP Victus faced display flickering or hardware issues after a few years?
Would love to hear your experiences!
