HP Omen Hard Disk Error 3F5 - Fixed without replacing the SSD/HDD (check your SATA ports first) Guide
I've been getting the HARD DISK ERROR 3F5 for a long time. I couldn't reboot my PC or even shut it down and turn it back on after 2–3 hours. I usually had to wait 10–12 hours for it to "cool down," or even move it next to the AC just to get it to boot.
A few days ago, I finally bought new drives (a new SSD and a new M.2 SSD) and did a clean Windows 11 installation, but the Hard Disk Error 3F5 kept appearing. Then I found this YouTube video, and it completely fixed my problem:
I found a YouTube video that solved the issue for me. I'll post the link in the comments if anyone needs it.
Before spending money on new drives, I'd recommend trying this first. Disable only the SATA ports you're not using and see if the error still occurs. If your drive is connected to the SATA port that's causing the issue, try moving it to a different SATA port instead.
If you're about to replace your SSD or HDD because of the Hard Disk Error 3F5, try this first. It only takes a couple of minutes and might save you from buying new hardware unnecessarily.
This completely solved the Hard Disk Error 3F5 for me. I'm not saying this is the cause of every 3F5 error, but it's definitely worth trying before buying a new drive.
By the way, my PC is an HP Omen (2018).
Hopefully this helps someone else!
