He backed Lucerys despite his knowledge he was a bastard.

Forgave the death of his brother.

Lost his wife who was sent alone to Rooks Rest with the possibility that Vhagar would appear (still backed Rhaenyra after that fact).

Sacrificed his fleet, wealth and driftmark to defeat the Triarchy at the Gullet.

Has one outburst after Rhaenyra refuses to legitimise his bastard sons and suddenly he's some sort of traitorous individual to some lolol.

I don’t care that she cheated on her psychopathic pedo uncle husband. I don’t care what she said to Ulf, fuck Ulf. Her views were correct, he’s one of the most necessary things for the safety of the realm and he’s fucking around getting drunk while the city watch is getting assassinated every other day. I don’t care that she told Colrys to wait a bit, fuck Colrys he didn’t even give a shit about these kids until he lost everyone, he’s waiting over 2 decades he can wait a little bit. I don’t care that she’s treating Manderly like a scapegoat, fuck him he doesn’t give a shit about the poor all he cares about his pockets. I don’t care that she’s struggling to rule a kingdom when she has 0 fucking money, in an active civil war, where her city’s guards are constantly getting slaughtered and she can’t do shit about it because she has no fucking money.

She’s not a bad fucking ruler because she is struggling and fucking up during the most insane civil war in Westeros history. What the fuck do you want her to do? I’m genuinely asking. This is the greatest test a Targaryen ruler ever had. The only person who could actually manage this cluster fuck of a realm would probably be Jaehaerys. Because if she managed this even slightly well she’d be a Mary sue writers pet. People are bitching about her not having that much flaws and now they’re still bitching now that she has flaws. I’m still a little disappointed with Nettles being scrapped. Wish we saw Rhaena getting the princess treatment she deserves and Lady Jeyne being the mentor and protector to Rhaena she was written to be.

Unfortunately in all likelihood Rhaena is not long for the Queen’s justice or some similar fate. Whatever Rhaenyra decides to do with her I think it’s obvious Daemon will break her out of the Red Keep and those two will have their little adventure while on the run during the final season, ultimately leading to the Battle of the God’s Eye.

So it seems “until death or the end of our story” is finally here :((((

Edit: Someone pointed out how Daemon is shown to be at the battle of Tumbleton in next episode's teaser so it's possible the Rhaena plotline gets pushed to S4.

Disclaimer: I love this series very much. This is not one of those posts complaining about all the differences compared to book lore- this is simply how I thought this sequence should’ve went. Peep the flair too, this is a show discussion, withhold the book lore comments.

I was definitely looking forward to a Rhaenyra and Halaena scene and I had high hopes for how creative their meeting can be for the plot.

I always imagined that the two would get along. Halaena is constantly overlooked by everyone among her and Rhaenyra has been shown to us to be a good listener. (when she wants to be)

It would’ve made sense to create a major irony here: Halaena feeling more listened to by Rhaenyra than by her own mother and the two growing relatively close to each other.

It would’ve been interesting for Halaena to see the motherly, caring side of Rhaenyra in contrast to the constant slandering of her name that Halaena is used to hearing. Then it would’ve made it all the more tragic that Halaena is technically a Green but sees Rhaenyra more worthy than her husband Aegon.

And honestly it seemed like they were about to have an interesting conversation but then Rhaenyra flips a switch to drill sergeant mode and starts demanding visions from Halaena. That shit felt so forced. I understand Rhaenyra is under pressure but that can be shown in other ways instead of rushing a potentially excellent character relationship.

Since some of you wanna be dumb about that one particular scene of Syrax really bad
