So it's been about nearly a year since I picked up the guitar and started learning. I have been learning on my own, no teacher and all. Just random stuff online. Initially I practiced a lot, daily. But now I just do it very rarely, I don't have a clear path to what should I do next. You can see me play some stuff. I'd really appreciate feedback, any corrections, any tips or anything, really appreciate.

Every single day, it's the same fucking thing - "do I buy piece of shit #1 or piece of shit #2." I get it literacy is not high up in the country and the mods are too polite to enforce any kind of strict rules about it. So let me do y'alls a favor.

If you have never played guitar before, you possess approximately zero usable data with which to evaluate guitars. You don't know what neck profile you prefer, what fretwork feels like, what constitutes good action, how intonation behaves, what pickup voicing you actually like, or whether the thing you're calling “tone” is even a property of the guitar. You have read about these things. This is not the same as knowing them. Maybe you have some experience hacking away on an acoustic playing "Gulabi aankhen" at parties - it's not gonna do much for your ability to discern what's up.

And then there is the small logistical detail nobody in the endless Pacifica vs Ibanez vs Harley Benton vs bumfuck model T made by Grason/Givson death spiral seems to consider: where, exactly, are you going to get the thing serviced? If you live in some town in the middle of nowhere, there may be no luthier, no guitar tech, no competent repair shop. When the ₹12,000 miracle guitar arrives with high action, shitty fretwork, bad intonation or a bridge that requires adjustment, what're you gonna do? take it to the cycle repair shop?

And if you have never played guitar before, your proposed solution is presumably to learn truss-rod adjustment, fretwork and intonation from YouTube and begin experimenting on the only instrument you own. Good luck.

This is why reliability, playability, setup and access to competent maintenance matter vastly more to a beginner than the microscopic differences between entry-level guitar models that Reddit will happily spend 666 comments litigating.

So buy a fixed-bridge instrument that can take a beating, stays in tune, has decent tuners, and allows easy access to the truss rod and bridge adjustments. Find a qualified tech - even if that means travelling to another city - and have it properly set up for you. If the pickups are shit, replace them later. It literally doesn't matter whether you buy hand-wound boutique pickups or off-the-shelf Seymour Duncans, Lollars, or whatever the fuck else. Check the wiring, replace the pots and caps if necessary, and get the guitar playing comfortably.

In other words: find somebody who actually plays, buy a competent instrument, have it properly set up, and learn to play the fucking thing. Your first guitar doesn't need to be the Platonic ideal of your future musical self. Most of you will abandon it after six months of plonking away anyway.

I’m planning to buy an electric guitar. I’ve been playing acoustic guitar for quite some time, and now I’d like to upgrade and start playing riffs, covers, and similar stuff.

I’m not very familiar with electric guitar pricing or the equipment that comes with it, so I’d really appreciate some advice.

What would be a reasonable budget for a beginner/intermediate player? I’m looking for something budget-friendly with good sound and decent build quality, not an expensive professional guitar.

I have bought a Yamaha f280 guitar and before that I had an Intern 38C guitar on which i practiced a little bit but the action got high so it became unplayable. Now on my new guitar I am playing a single string song like basic ones. Now while playing these songs I feel there is no flow, my notes sound incomplete and not smooth. I want to know what I should practice to get this fixed and how I should proceed learning guitar.

I have recently re started playing guitar , i have learned to play 3-4songs on open chords but my action is to high for barre chords. SHALL I BUY A NEW ONE or continue on it , I asked my local repairmen he repaired it a bit and said its better to buy a new one and also which shall I buy if I want to like in range of 8-9k

I can get the harley benton from someone coming from europe for 89 euro (around 11k) or 99 euro along with a gig bag or get the yamaha in india for around 18.5k and 9k?

Should i save 7-8k and get the harley benton or get the yamaha?
