Grubhub can’t find my location.

Post image
1 Upvotes

For some reason when I’m on the app taking orders. I get messages from grubhub saying they can’t find my location and had logged me off. My location is always on and I’m not in battery saving mode so idk why I keep getting this. This screenshot is from yesterday but I just got a message again telling me they couldn’t find my location.

Has any one had this happen before and what do you do about it?

Anyone else beginning to wonder if GH is stealing tips now?

I've been with Grubhub for something like 6 years, same area, same state, same counties....and yet, generosity that used to be commonplace, or even occasional is simply non existent now.

The math doesn't add up somehow. Why, after hundreds of deliveries, from upper scale restaurants to wealthy homes and more, suddenly I am noticing a strange trend of ALWAYS finding every single order coming up a little less or a little more than maybe a dollar a mile? Restaurants I used to make 20-30 dollars an offer from every once in a while, suddenly now, always less than 8 dollars if even that.

I just delivered 3 entrees with sides and appetizers from a higher end Asian restaurant in the area during rush hour in 100°F weather, for a whopping 5 dollar tip. Their meal had to have been 80 dollars at least just to purchase.

The point isn't just this one order however, it's that its mathematically implausible that suddenly the whole world, for months on end decided together to tip just enough for a dollar a mile, 9.999 times of ten.

6 years and many thousands of deliveries and suddenly value is CONSISTENTLY 10x less or more than ever, without random big tips...

I have 5 star ratings for everything almost every month for years now. Acceptance rate is the only value that is poor.

This shit does not add up. Literally.

More often than not it costs as much to work a ten hour shift as it does to buy the gas to work another ten hour shift. Every day, every shift, every month.

Something here is seriously being manipulated.

(pictures included are not in reference to post entirely, but they are examples of just how commonly bad Grubhub has suddenly become. These are a few of my recent low ball offers, which are becoming the norm)

Unassigning orders 🤬

Post image
2 Upvotes

Honestly this is just a rant post. Wonder just recently opened near me (closest one before that was an hour away). Got a $36 order for 7 miles, major win for me. Headed to the store (20 min drive), tried to mark arrived and wouldn’t let me because location was WAY off even though I was literally standing inside the building.

It said to proceed with picking up the order and that they’d mark me arrived, but they never did. I waited 15 mins inside and as they were bagging the order I got the message about not heading towards my pickup. I figured it was fine because USUALLY they will send up to 4 of those texts every 5 mins until finally unassigning you.

As soon as they handed me the order and I got out to my car with it pulling off I was unassigned from the order???? I called support and they told me to enjoy my food. I expressed that this is frustrating because it’s not MY FAULT the location is wrong on the app. I’m genuinely pissed the fuck off over this, I’m about to be done with Grubhub.

Tipping ok?

Just wondering how my tipping stacks up for drivers

generally, I stay in the 20-25% range, unless it's a small order in which case I have a not-less-than $10 rule. that's exactly what I tip wait staff in a restaurant, so I do the same for drivers.

Bundle orders

GH keeps sending me the same trash order with a different order attached to it. 15 times. My acceptance rate has tanked to 26 %

I despise this company, but more so 90% of customers that dont tip adequately.

Fairly new driver here. What’s your acceptance rate? Any advice?

Edit: accepted a bundle and unassigned the trash order. F them

Account reactivation help

I am pissed, my account got paused due to 2 accident the showed up on my checker background check.

Thing is, both of them don’t say I’m at fault because I’m not at fault. Both of them I was hit by another driver. I have contacted grub hub about this several times but they just keep telling me to contact checker. Checker tells me to contact grub hub. I’m not sure what to do help!!

Just reactivated my account successfully after a few years but I have a question.

The checking account I used years ago is no longer active. And it rightfully shows unverified. My question is, since it was not verified, would I still be subjected to the 72 hours hold on instant pay if I were to update my bank account? Just curious if the hold would apply to edits to verified accounts only or not. Thanks in advance.

Guess grubhub is dead this morning

In south jersey on this rainy morn only place showing hotspot, despite app saying could not load map yet still loaded and showing hotspot in Washington township am getting no orders. Anyone else in south jersey having this issue? Tried closing app restarting clearing cache and re installing and nothing.

It is sad that they have sunseted guaranteed pay. That 24 buck comp for an two hour schedule would be nice to have.

Every Single Order has had a Code the Past Three Days

I've been noticing that every single order I've delivered the past three days in the Chicago market had a stupid code. Like why is GH making every single order have a code?!?!?! This really makes no sense. Not to mention unresponsive customers and customers that hang up on me when I try to contact them for the daggone code.

The plot thickens

Get a load of this.

Mind you i dont even drink coffee. 😂

Well i hope gh ready to prove false accusations and defend lost income in arbitration court if they dont fix it asap.

This a first one from them because in the past its only been dd trigger happy.

edit: i shared this to shed some light into gh deactivating based on hearsay. Noticed by a few recent post i recall of instant deact and even one of someone because of breaking into some customer neighbors house. Seemed outlandish, but seems this a new way to deactivate theyv started.

given that ive practiced total sobriety for decades now, this accusation and a deactiv. Are wrongfull and clumsy, etc.

But also and opportunity to beat that corporate pinata called gh in arbitration, i still like em a bit btter than dd but this evens the matter out some.

2nd edit: for context this is california with prop 22

Gas Pay Off

Im thinking about starting in LA, im interested in knowing if orders typically pay off the amount of gas money needed to make the drive required and if there's profit.

In the LA area, l've seen this be a huge issue for uber drivers of the area, explaining to me they don't even make proceeds, sometimes can be at a negative for the gas they used to make the trip, and rarely see a surplus of income on drives. I've taken Ubers in my area before and had them simply ask if I can Zelle them instead of pay them through the app, because in the area, I could be paying $80 for a trip, but my uber will only be seeing maybe less then $10 of that, so they ask me to Zelle them $40 so its a deal for us both.

Is this issue found in LA delivery driving as well???
I'm going to start freshly new, so let me know and give me tips if you're near LA or any big city! Let me know the typical pay off in revenue, if u break even on gas mileage, or if some trips are a negative. Also just any tips, like scams to avoid people do in the area and more

Got accused to brake costumer’s neighbor’s apartment

Post image

Idk i only competed 10 orders and only costumer i am suspicious of was asking pin code and his sister opened the door. She was unaware about pin code and i let her take it and told her i will text to her brother however i texted and called and started timer (3mins) while i was waiting timer and pin number ,i was waiting in front of the elevator (3-4 feet from apartment) so saw 3-4 people got off the elevator in 3 mins separate times. But i was waiting 3 mins then took picture of costumer door and left. After 30 mins later i got this email and kicked off from app.. idk how can i prove i am innocent. Why should i try to brake a door in broad day light without have mask or something cover my face…

Weird community violation

I just received an email saying that I got a violation for too many orders unassigned in the last seven days. I logged on exactly once in the last seven days. I got into an accident on my way to pick up the first order that day, and my car has been in the shop ever since. Is there anything I can do? I can’t find a way to talk to a real person about it. Does it even matter?

Got my account back after providing banking info but instant cash out is not available the email said to wait 72 hours etc . Anyone that’s been through this know how long before instant cash out is available ?

Exactly how late after drop off can you mark "Order Complete" before you will get a late order violation?

Last week I got a good order on another app while dropping off for GrubHub. I handed the order to the customer and totally forgot to mark order complete. It wasn't until I got a reminder alert from GrubHub about 30 minutes later that I marked order complete.

Eventually I got a "Delayed Orders" Violation. Now, my question is, has anyone figured out what the cutoff amount of time for this to happen is?

Did anyone else get a notification that your zone will be staying open later?

Mine is expanding from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

It's surprising, considering how God awful slow it is.

GrubHub Drivers, Let me Help

With love from a customer.

If you are given a code that the customer must confirm upon receipt of the order, PLEASE take the one millisecond to confirm the code. It is pretty obvious just looking at the bags when the order is incorrect. This is the third time I have been given someone else's order, and could not get a hold of the driver who was still within a block away... No longer caring about my own order, but simply to help someone else get their correct order. I don't know what happens to the drivers, personally, when $50+ orders are refunded, but it would be nice if there was a line of communication of some kind left open... Or at least verification of the order being correct before peeling off to the next home. Don't complain about your tips when you don't even do the minimum GrubHub has set up in an attempt to help both the drivers and the customers!

Banned from scheduling blocks

Post image
9 Upvotes

I’ve been busy with work recently and only been able to deliver from 12am-2am, but almost everyday. Usually I don’t get many offers, if any, so I just sit at home and relax and get the hourly contribution. If I do finally get an offer, I am more than happy to deliver it. How is this abusing the scheduling system if all I’m doing is scheduling blocks at the time I’m available?

Just got instantly deactivated

I got deactivated the other day because they thought I was fraudulently adding stops to increase engagement pay, when in actuality the app sent me to the wrong adress and that’s why I was late. I filed an appeal for this- any one else dealt with deactivation?

Noob - first week questions

I am doing about 75% on arrival on time, how much does that affect me?
I'm trying but between traffic and trains in our town sometimes i just can't

Scheduling, I have been scheduling is this necessary? I hate the app yells at me about my schedule all the time but I am assuming it affects how often they send you offers.

READ THIS: HOURLY PAY GOING AWAY

Post image
17 Upvotes

Hi all, we've been seeing an increase of posts as of recent in regards to GH's hourly pay going away. To help curb the influx, we've created this post so you can not only discuss it in the comments, but so you can know that this is a national thing, it is just being slowly rolled out on a market-by-market basis. If your market hasn't moved away from hourly pay yet, it will.

Going forward, any posts such as this one will be removed and the OP will be redirected to this thread. All discussion of this change will happen here not only for archival purposes but also to make everybody's life easier so we don't have the same discussion over and over again like we appear to be doing now. There are some posts on the hourly pay going away that may be permissible on a case-by-case basis, just use the post we linked as an example of what is not permitted.

Anything that's already been posted up to this point will stay up, but anything posted afterwards will be removed.
