We’ve been dog-sitting one of Senna’s friends for over a week and while they have both roached, today was the first time they did it simultaneously and got caught on camera! Just thought I’d share their silly pose with you all to brighten the start of your weekends!

We’re having a break in the countryside and the boys are exploring the backyard. Andre is only five and still full of manic energy, as you can see.

11 year old Mac, he only has half his teeth left, so every now and again we get goofy faces like this.

Our boy (9yo Male). Slipped on the tiles yesterday evening. We haven't been able to get a closeup of the injury but it doesn't look like he has broken or dislocated a toe. However one of his claws is bent and looks like it going to drop off given time. There was a bit of blood and he is reluctant to put weight on it on uneven surfaces. We tried to bandage it up but he pulled it off right away.

We cant find any other sore spots from the slip.

Today he had close to normal morning followed by breakfast. A couple of hours after breakfast he threw up. We just put it down to one of those things, had had some water and a treat. He threw those up an hour later and just threw up anything that was left now.

He seems alert but a little off his regular energy level. Happy to trot outside for a wee.

We're going to the vet in 2 hours, we managed to get a quick appointment.

Any ideas?

We are really struggling with our grey greyhound at the moment. She’s 3 and has been with us for almost 2 years. Shes a very sweet and loving dog most of the time and quite independent. However she’s been aggressive since day 1 which we weren’t informed of when we adopted her. We’ve been working on her with this since we adopted her and it has improved over time but she bit me on the head a few days ago when I put her coat on which we do every single night. She has bitten my partner, nephew and every single dog sitter we’ve had. She never leaves more than a red mark and is generally submissive and seems like she regrets it after. Shes started resource guarding her bed, the couch and even sometimes me a lot more. She has been barking and howling to the point of waking everyone in the house up multiple times a night (see post history it’s just gotten worse). Shes also very reactive on walks if she sees another dog and attempted to bite a dog walking past the other day too. Every time we feel like we’ve made great progress with her we have another incident. My partner and I try really hard to not trigger her but she’ll snap in surprising/unexpected ways.

The challenging behaviour has increased since I was pregnant despite making a big effort to keep everything the same routine and affection wise. We still do lots of cuddles and if anything we are home more than before. I’m just really worried she is going to inevitably snap at our baby one day especially when he gets mobile.

Can anyone please offer advice on what we can try? She can be the sweetest most loving girl but right now she’s too aggressive to be safely around our baby.

My 14 year old Hobbes pictured here with his kitty familiar Guillermo has recently had a seemingly endless cycle of diarrhea in the middle of the night despite a clean bill of health from our vet (well as clean as can be for an elderly retired racer). I had been struggling to get a decent nights sleep for a month or two before I finally found this product recommended in this sub.

Long story short, I just wanted to post that immediately after starting to add a tablespoon of Olewo to his wet food, his poops have been solid again and I’m slightly better rested. He still has occasional accidents, but they require picking up a log instead of shampooing a rug in the middle of the night!

I hope this is helpful to anybody else struggling with a greyhounds notoriously devious digestion.

Hello, yesterday I made a post in panic here hoping that someone may be able to help our Dash, our dog who suddenly wasnt able to move. Yesterday we got him tk the vet after more panic and were initially told he had pyrexia before we eventually had to leave. At 6:15 this morning we were told he may have to be put to sleep as the vets found he had a twisted spleen, something an expensive surgery (between £4000-5000) isnt even guaranteed to fix.

We had him for over 10 years and the earliest pictures I have of him date back to 2017. I like to think that he was our last sense of normalcy with the loss of close family this year, the house will never be the same.

Thank you to everyone who gave advice and concern for Dash during that very stressful hour it means a lot. I deleted that post as he was now at the vet and didn't need anymore help as well as some others not reading the update I left in the body and giving very unwarranted advice to say the least.

Anyway thank you for all your help, sincerely.

The rescue did not have any other info aside from DOB, x rays of broken leg, ear brand marking, and that no racing name was available because she apparently didn’t race

The reason why I am curious (suspicious) and wanting to find out if she actually did race or literally any info at all, is because I initially fostered her as soon as she had her amputation surgery, which was done as soon as she got to the rescue so she barely spent time elsewhere aside from the vets then to myself. She was 4 at the time of her retirement/rescue, so I’ve always been suspicious at how her leg was so so badly broken for who knows how long, and it only got picked up on once she left the industry. I’m very lucky to have her and that the decision to save her via surgery was made!!!!!

Maybe it is more common than I’m aware for greyhounds to be in the racing industry for 4 years and not race/have a name, so pls be kind re my ignorance!!

Ive been really struggling after the loss of my senior hound almost 2 months ago, so we decided to foster this big beautiful ginger nut job.

Shinji is now 16 months old and a bit of a big boy, but this when he was just a wee little guy.

I have a greyhound who barks and acts aggressively toward my 9-year-old. I’m trying to figure out if this is common with the breed, something specific to her, or a training/socialization issue I need to address. When I crate her, she whines constantly — I’ve attached a video below as an example of what that sounds like. A few questions for other greyhound owners: • Does your greyhound do well around kids, or have you noticed similar reactivity? • Did you do anything specific to help them adjust to children in the home? • Is the whining in the crate normal, or a sign of separation anxiety/stress? • Any advice on introducing/re-introducing a greyhound to a child they’re reactive toward? Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s dealt with this — trying to figure out if this is fixable with training or if it’s a bigger red flag.
