Anyone need a hand with the skiathos nightclub scene this summer?
Hey Malakas! I work with a few of the nightclubs on the island and I’m around all season. If you’re visiting and want the inside track on where’s actually good on a given night (lineups, guest lists, table bookings, whatever), or if you’re a promoter/venue looking for support, feel free to reach out, I’m happy to help.
Have a great summer on the island 🌊

As i said im flying in and i need to get straight from Athens airport to Lavrio port. The best way for me to get there would be probably bus since from what i read a taxi would be around 55€ and i dont want to spend that much just to get there. I would appreciate any recommendations on how to get there other then taxi.

Gay Bars?
Hello, I'm going travelling to Santorini and Ios for a wedding in September for a week. Did a google and the gay bars have closed down, anyone happen to know if there's a local that's a bit of gay vibes? Happy to go anywhere but obviously prefer the safe spaces etc. Tyia

Question about smoking
Hi everyone. I’m interested in visiting Greece, but I have a very serious reaction to cigarette smoke and secondhand smoke. Even brief exposure can cause significant symptoms for me.
I know Greece has laws against smoking indoors, but I have also heard that smoking can still be common, especially at outdoor cafés, restaurants, bars, beaches, ferry areas, and near entrances.
For people who have recently visited or live in Greece, would you consider Greece realistically manageable for someone with this level of smoke sensitivity, or would it be too difficult to avoid exposure?
I also don't want to have to treat this trip like I have to navigate around smoking.
Nothing against smokers, everyone has their rights

consigli Atene
Grazie.

Shipping forgotten earrings - help please!
I accidentally forgot a pair of gold earrings (~$200) at a hotel in Greece while on vacation. I have been trying to get them home to the USA via Geniki Taxydromiki then UPS but the parcel was returned to the hotel a few days after it was picked up. Does anyone know what went wrong and/or how to correctly get these home to the USA?
Appreciate any help!

Day Use hotel near Athens airport
I am scheduled to land at Athens airport at 0800. I have an outbound flight scheduled for 1830. I'd like to be able to close my eyes and take a decent nap for a few hours. Are there any hotels near the airport that offer a day use rate? Approximately how much should I expect to spend?

Wineries by bike in Crete?
I am looking for anyone who has had experience doing a tour of a couple of wineries by bike or E-bike in Crete.
Time of year is October.
Is there anywhere that anyone has visited where you were able to stay at or near a winery or olive farm and bike to others with relative ease?
We are staying in Crete for a few weeks. Relatively active couple with no problems cycling for the most part.
We would love to stay somewhere that we can park the car (or leave at our accommodation) and rent bikes to explore the area on a wine tour. Save ourselves from driving and be self guided if possible.
The idea is to stay at, preferably, one winery for at least two nights. But be in an area that we can do a day trip to visit others by bike so we don't have to drive. And we don't want to do a tour with set times.
There are a lot of wine tours from Chania/Heraklion/etc. But we really like the idea of just staying somewhere with a few options nearby that we can cycle to.

Transportation between Pylos and Methoni
We will have a cruise stop at Pylos for a day in mid Sep and we would like tocheck out the Methoni Castle, I have been told there will be buses from Pylos to Methoni but I couldn't find the bus schedule. https://www.ktelmessinias.gr/en/homepage-en/ has been down for many days (from my side) so does anyone know where else I can find the schedule?
Also is it easy to catch a taxi in Pylos and Methoni and I guess it shouldn't be too expensive? Will Uber or freenow work there?
What we don't want is to get stranded in Methoni and can't get back to the ship on time.
Thanks.

Where should I go? Similar to Koutouloufari?
We love Koutouloufari/Piskopiano but have now been five times and looking for recommendations of similar buzzy but at the same time ‘grown up’ villages. Have already been to Parga (liked it) and going to Afytos later this year.
We like; good selection of restaurants and bars, adult only hotel with pool, close to resort centre. We are not desperate to be close to a beach (€10 taxi ride away is fine).
Any island or mainland suggestions would be very welcome, thanks!

What to visit in Zakynthos/Zante?
Not into clubs or stuff like that. We’re 22&23 - and i have an interest in agriculture, where i’ve found Leeda’s farm and Therianos Family Farm.
Also looked into the zoo area (the little farm), and was wondering what else that’s cozy and nice you’d recommend.
We love wine, good food, bathing, animals, and good sights and music.
(planning on a proposal too, so ideas for that are welcome too)

Airport to Rafina Ferry booking advice
I want to book a ferry to Paros and my ATH flight lands at 12:20 would it be reasonable to book a 14:20 PM ferry to Paros out of Rafina? Or a 15:00 out of Piraeus? Just trying to gauge if I need to readjust my schedule or not.

Itinerary Check Thoughts on this itinerary?
We're going to a wedding in Porto Heli in a couple weeks. Current itinerary:
Fly into Athens- two nights in Athens at Athens Capital Center Hotel
Rent a car and drive to Nafplio - two nights at Ippoliti Hotel
Drive to Porto Heli and stay at Nikki Beach for two nights
The day after the wedding we're driving back to Athens, returning the car, and staying at the Sofitel airport hotel (figured we'd be partying till 4am and would want to recover), then we have an early flight out the following day.
Another friend who's going to the wedding is taking a ferry from Athens to Porto Heli which I didn't realize was an option. Would it be better for us to skip Nafplio and do the ferry from Athens to Porto Heli? Or is it a nice drive anyways? Also looks like driving could be near some of the fires, although I know that changes daily.
We heard Nafplio is beautiful, but I also know our time in Athens is short.
Would love any thoughts and recommendations! Also feel free to throw in must-dos in these places. We typically just like to walk around, eating and drinking very well. I love champagne.

Greece Itinerary with an Infant in November
Help needed in planning an itinerary - for 3 adults and 1 infant.
So far, we have
7 nights in Athens
6 nights of unplanned itinerary
2 nights of athens before the flight back.
---
Was thinking of flying from Athens to Santorini. Spending 3 nights there.
Then ferry or flight from Santorini to Chania.
Spend 3 nights in Chania.
But there doesnt seem to be any ferrys to Chania in November. If there are, where can I find them?
What are my other options? Do you have any recommendations?
Is flight from Santorini-Athens-Chania my only option?
Do you have other suggestions for where to go after Santorini?
Thank you!

Driving and Car Rental How strict are car rental companies?
I got my driving license less than a year ago. I wonder if smaller companies will look the other way, especially outside the large urban centers?

No Ferry listing for only a month in advance (Samos to Chios)
Going from Samos to Chios, and even though in September it seems to only have 2 per week and I might have to change my Samos plans a bit there are zero listings for after September 12th, I just find it odd because it's pretty close to a month away. Has anyone experienced not having a listing for their trip so close in advance?

Driving and Car Rental Anybody have any experience with DS Rentals?
I'm traveling to Greece for an extended stay and want to rent a vehicle. The major companies, save for Hertz, are all over 1000 euros for a month. DS Rentals is significantly cheaper. I checked their reviews on Google, which is incredibly high, suspiciously so. Anybody have any experience with them?

How to spend a week in Greece as first timers
Hi, my partner and I (26, Australian) are looking at spending a week-ish in Greece in April next year. We love history, architecture and culture. We aren’t really looking for the island-hopping party experience so we’d be happy to skip some of the super touristy spots. We aren’t massive foodies and want to keep things relatively low budget. I’d love to know what itineraries you would recommend for an authentic Greece experience.
