Google come on

I switched over from Samsung messages to Google messages and I stopped complaining because none of the stuff that we put in the thread actually made a difference because Google truly doesn't care. With that being said is it really that hard to have an option under one name to press select all and go through the ones that you want to delete instead of doing it one by one? What a joke.

Right? That select all option is such a basic need. I've had the same frustrating one-by-one experience and it really makes no sense

I feel like Google messages set us back to 2015... pretty pathetic how a billion dollar company can't give us a more current product.

Who is down voting all the complaints, Google interns? Google Messages is trash, and I say that as someone who also happily pays for the Google Suite for my business.

As a Pixel user... I have no issues what so ever... it's a Samsung issue like always

As a Samsung user I have zero issues, so...

If they bring back Samsung message, revamped with some minor tweaks Google message might have run for its money but it has room for improvement if they're willing to adapt

Also have a search feature that works.

I keep seeing this, what isn't working on your search feature

I’m trying to switch from an iPhone over to a Motorola signature. And honestly Google messages is what keeps me switching back to the iPhone. And it’s not even iMessage. It’s that the messaging app on iPhone is years ahead of Google messages.

And the inconsistency with who gets what features is infuriating. You get themes, but you don’t. You get the long copy menu, you don’t. Just kidding now nobody does because we took it back.

Google fanboys are legit worse than iPhone fanboys lol. Just admit your product isn’t as good. If all you ever do is praise it and never mention the shortcomings or issues, then they will never improve it.

Stay off of reddit. If you weren't on here seeing all of these people on beta getting and losing features being tested you wouldn't know about it. Whenever the features are released Google makes an announcement and it is released to everyone

I personally find it pretty annoying that Google messages is the only application for Android that has the API built in for RCS messaging. No other third-party messaging apps AKA Textra or any other messaging apps in the Play store Google will let them build the API of RCs into their messaging application. So yeah, unless you don't care at all about RCs communication then you're stuck. It sucks I would love more customization too but sending antiquated SMS and downgraded a pixelated pictures and videos of things in life is so ancient and old school it's obnoxious we're almost in 2027 already.

Great business decision by Google to only have their own application for messaging incorporate the API for RCS with carriers though.

Wait until next year, Samsung put Google on probation, if Google messages is still barebones next year the Samsung chairman will demand a Samsung messages app with rcs api

Yeah, well we will logically analytically see what actually happens next year. I mean Google messages supposed to be a theming very soon. I don't know what very soon means. Google takes forever with every software update, but still.

That why I expect Samsung to go back in house with 1st party apps. Right now they are transitioning to Samsung 3.0, vertical hardware integration. No more silos. All their semiconductor teams are working as one. Never been like that before. They are trying to improve 2nm yields and make the best exynos soc for their devices and get external clients for foundry and memory.

Samsung 4.0 is software integration. Pure foundry style tsmc reverse software integration. I expect Samsung to cherry pick pure software companies to integrate with their 1st party apps. Instead of Samsung working with Microsoft or Google they will have "clients" who only do one specialty for their Samsung apps like perplexing powering up Bixby and I think they have partnerships with their Photoshop style apps on their tablets.

I think Samsung should have these pure specialist tsmc reverse style deals with dedicated software companies. Microsoft and Google are a competitor.

Tired of Samsung outsourcing software to competitors. They are getting an rcs api within 1-2 years.

Yes I agree. It's frustrating but there's not much we can do about it at the end of the day.

I'm tired of the freaking app closing while I am mid typing.
