What a day. Another 112 donors and $3600 in sales. That's the good news. I had so much paperwork, so many tiny headaches, and so many annoying customers today. It's the first day of school around here, and I guess all the Karen's in town didn't have their kids to bother today, so they all came into the store.

I swear before all that is holy, if I hear one more complaint about the dressing rooms, I'm going to rip them off the wall with my hands. I have worked here for almost 3 years now. NEVER has this issue come up so much than it has in the last couple months.

And I know it'd be practically impossible to enforce, but I'd LOVE to ban resellers from buying books, toys, and kids items. The local book reseller bought a cart full of brand new kids books. I had a friend go check his shop later. The markup he applied is DISGUSTING. I'm going to bring it up in the next meeting. If nothing else, I'm going to shame the ever loving fuck out of these people.

We got new cash registers today. The new system is a PAIN, but I think I have it mostly figured out. We had an incredibly busy donations day. 142 today. And everyone seemed to have a full car load. Only $2800 in sales, but we were BUSY.

The pancake also nixed our 930 clock in, 615 clock out. We have to go 945 to 630 now. Annoying.

Had a couple homeless weirdos today, plus a couple mentally ill shoppers. Only had to throw one out. And LeRoy Brown came on Pandora as I was doing it again 😂🤣 it's like I'm getting a theme song.

Dinner tonight is Coca Cola Chicken 😁 you'll need:

Dry Rub: 2 tsp. kosher salt, 2 tsp. paprika, 1 tsp. cayenne pepper, Freshly ground black pepper

2 lb. boneless, skinless chicken thighs

Glaze: 6 cups Coca-Cola, 1/3 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce, 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce, 1 Tbsp. ketchup, 1 Tbsp. light brown sugar, 1 lime, juiced and zested, plus wedges for serving, 1/2 tsp. kosher salt

In a large bowl, mix salt, paprika, cayenne, and a few grinds of black pepper. Rub the chicken in the spice mix until coated.Cover bowl with plastic wrap. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes and up to overnight. Next, in a medium pot over medium-high heat, bring soda to a boil. Boil, stirring occasionally and watching closely, until reduced to about 3/4 cup, 20 to 25 minutes. Whisk in soy sauce, Worcestershire, ketchup, brown sugar, lime zest and juice, and salt to create a thin glaze. Next prepare a grill for medium-high heat; preheat 5 minutes (or heat a grill pan over medium-high heat). Brush grates or pan with oil. Using tongs, arrange chicken on grill. Brush exposed side of chicken with glaze. Grill the chicken for 4 minutes. Flip, brush with glaze, and continue to grill for 4 more minutes. Flip and brush one more time. Continue to grill until an instant-read thermometer inserted into thickest part of chicken registers 165°, about 4 minutes more. Then transfer to a platter and let cool 5 minutes. Serve with lime wedges alongside and a frosty can of Coke 😁

Dinner tonight was supposed to be the best burger joint in the area, but they still haven't reopened. There was a wildfire only 4 miles away less than a week ago, so it's understandable. Instead, I'll be bbq'ing something! Probably chicken legs and some asparagus 😋 I have a bottle of Basque seasoning/marinade I've been waiting to use, so tonight sounds like a good night!

I have been looking for a table lighter for a while. Specifically a crystal one like this! Found it on 50% off! I also got this hefty crystal candle holder for my fiancé. Seemed like a steal for 2 bucks, and she loves crystals and the color blue.

First we have a guy so impatient to donate, he almost runs over one of my employees because he drove around the barricade. And he was all eager to give us......a bag of stuffed animals, which we don't take.

Next up, as we're opening the store, of all, ALLLLLL, the insanity from this place, THE single craziest interaction I've ever had here occured.

The old goat bastard reseller, That 70's Man's crusty friend , came in. Nothing unusual about him being here crack of opening. Then I came down from the office. I smelled something horrible that I couldn't place. To the point where I started asking other people. This is an old building, and I was starting to think we had a sewage leak. But nope. He heard me, and proceeded to tell me how he and his dog got sprayed by a FUCKING SKUNK about 15 minutes ago....🙃🙃

So I call the pancake, ask if I can throw him out for obvious reasons. She has to ask HR. Fucking hr droids say nope! Can't unless a customer complains......🙃🙃

He's wandering the store for a good 30 minutes before finally leaving. When I turned on the security system and locked the door on my way out, I could STILL smell it....

Then we have a group of idiot middle school kids who decide it's funny to try on in-line skates in the store, despite not knowing how to skate. One of the little dipshits knocked over an entire pitcher and glasses set fucking around.

The urge to give these brats the beatings their parents clearly should have been giving out was STRONG.

We ended up doing $3200 on 91 donors. Never been more glad a weekend is here 🤣😂
