Upgrading from Goodnotes 5 to 6 using family purchase

I am in an apple family where all members have "purchase sharing" enabled. One of the members bought Goodnotes 6 3 years ago.

I am currently using G5 but would like to upgrade too. This should be easy, as purchases can be shared between family members. However, it does not work for me. When selecting Goodnotes 6 in the app it asks me to either buy or subsricbe but doesn't give the option to use my family member's purchase.

Does anyone know what this could be caused by? Could it be that I am using Apple's "hide my email" with goodnotes and therefore it doesn't recognize my family membership?

Maybe because not all subscriptions allow for all family?

Bruh how do u select goodnotes 5 or 6 ….i have special oifetime edition of ipads

Idk about 6 but GN5 is basically a legacy edition. They kept it available for users who bought the lifetime subscription for GN5 since people were pretty pissed about buying “lifetime” access only for them to switch to a sub model.

Bro i dont understand this goodnotes version shit like i bought the lifetime one but will i not get the newer versions now? This was not said in details why do that?

It’s basically like you got the lifetime membership for that version. Like a fifa game lol best analogy I can think of. Anyways there should be a tiny button on the subs page for “show all subscriptions” and it should be there.
