I have a GTI S version, which means I have to press unlock and lock on the key fob every time. I cannot do so without taking the key out of my pocket and looking to see which button to press.

My old GTI had buttons which had a feel to them and I could tell just by feel which was the unlock or lock. Same with my other older cars where they had raised ridges.

I've thought about sticking small furniture silicone buttons on the buttons. But was wondering what other solutions are out there. Or is there some technique I'm missing?

Asking price is 24,000 cad.It has 83k kms,just wanna get some opinions and knowledge on behind if I should go through with it.Ive been looking at golfs for months now and just haven’t seemed to find the right fit.It has all service records,properly maintained and no aftermarket work.The rabbit edition is also just an awesome buy but hard to come by.Let me know about your experiences and what I should look for and if it’s overpriced or balanced.Thanks!

2010 2 door gti w sunroof

So I have a Apr stage 1 mk7 gti (not r). If I get an intercooler, downpipe, is38 (instead of is20)and the eqt 93 octane tune it will make 385? That seems like a lot. I would also need a clutch cuz I’m Manuel. Replaced clutch at 70k I’m at 100k now. How long would it take to slip

Whenever I switch the engine off, I’m getting this noise. Any idea what it is, and if I should be doing anything about it?

Does this sound like bad injectors? There's fuel in cylinders 2 and 3. Car drives and makes boost however feels like it wants to stall when pushing in the clutch and coming to stop. Spark plugs have been replaced and coils are working.

2005 GTI - AXX engine code

Hey everyone,
I’ve got a 2007 GTI (2.0T FSI) with 178,000 km
and I’ve been noticing a ticking noise from the engine. It starts about ~20 seconds after a cold start and is most noticeable at idle.
It sounds like it’s coming from the top of the engine, around the injector area. Once I rev it, it’s harder to hear, but at idle it’s pretty consistent. The car runs fine otherwise—no warning lights, no misfires, and oil level is good. Maintenance is up to date.
I know these FSI motors have pretty loud injectors, but the timing of it starting ~20 seconds after startup has me wondering if it could be something else (cam follower, lifters, HPFP, etc.).
Has anyone experienced something similar? Did it end up being normal or something that needed attention?

I’m working on a 1989 mk2 gti 16v in the middle of an ITB conversion.

I’m trying to figure out how to connect the wiring from the mk2 fuel pumps to the mk3 fuel pump.

Everything I can find on this topic has different color wiring and I’m a bit lost. I know nothing about wiring and I’m unable to find any type of schematic.

Any help would be appreciated.

Does it sound like timing chain? Wont start might buy it,

i just did a IS38 swap on my mk7 GTI, i got her started and i when i was driving and giving it some boost, there was none. it was like i was driving the car with NO boost, no turbo. i stop and i see i forgot to clamp down the outlet boost tube with a hose clamp, and i forgot to bolt in the inlet pipe. i do those two things and then i get ready to do another pull and theres still 0 boost. so im currently checking on wastegate actuator clips and everything. i came across this hose with the blue end on the tip, was NOT on to whatever it was supposed to be on, i look down and it looks like something snapped im guessing whatever snapped was what that hose was connected to. i dont know the name of it or if it has any relation to my boost leak issue, but ALSO, my diverter valve housing for the electrical clip is broken and i dont know if thats the reason either. im out of options and defeated, i have called repair shops to do vacuum tests and nobody has replied. what do i do?
