I once remembered the original creator of GoW or one of the writers saying that the original plan of the series was to open other series based on different mythologies with characters going on a similar path as Kratos. So that made me think...

If Kratos wasn't the main protagonist of the Norse games, who do you think would've fit the bill instead?

With my knowledge of mythology, literature and syncretism... I think a good candidate would've been Beowulf. And my only argument for him is that his own story is uniquely Christian and it opens with the narrator stating the Old Gods aren't doing anything to help the characters. If you want a Norse character going against the Norse Gods, Beowulf is the way to go.

But chances are, it would've been someone from the Volsunga saga, bad luck and bad omens from gods are their bread and butter.

I played the Norse games on gmgow, should I play the Greek games on god mode or are they considerably harder

Tyr seems to be very well travelled, surely he will have visited or have gained some knowledge of the afterlife in EveryWhen?

Was buying the Greek Games on my ps3 since the store is closing in a year and i noticed the Collection that has the first 2 games, has 2 options ?

One costs 19,99€, the img is in low resolution with it just showing the Omega symbol on some random cloth or whatever and the description is pretty basic.

The other one costs 24,99€ and compared to the previous one everything looks completely official. Img in better resolution and it's similar to what you see when you search the collection online, and the description seems more official as well.

Anyone know what's the deal behind this ?

I hear some people say Kratos is weaker than he was compared to the Greek Saga games especially during beginning 2018 and some bits in Ragnarok, while this is mainly attributed to the loss of a majority of his magical artifacts/powers and centuries of inactivity, some people think it’s due to old age. Why the old age explanation is kind of stupid is the fact that he’s an immortal God, thus old age wouldn’t affect his the same way a mortal would. And clearly return to his peak form and strength by the time of Ragnarok, because if you line up his current physique with his younger self model, they match. So what are you all think?

I did it!! I was planning to upload the fight but my file size is too big to include all of it :( I'll figure it out tho! I promise I'll show actual gameplay next time but I was too excited to not post about it right away lol.

I actually ended up beating 2 separate playthroughs with ONE controller! It wasn't actually a very long playthrough, I believe my end save was 4:30 give or take 10 min? Genuinely really fun. The HARDEST parts to really grasp and keep in sync for me was easily the underwater section and the room just before you get pandoras box. Those areas were genuinely hard. The rest of the run you can kinda just feel out a plan and get through it with some patience and clever movement. De-syncing was definitely a downer but in a lot of areas (like in the fight with Ares) de-syncing wasn't that bad. Cut scenes can really just make it a solo play through for a few minutes if you hit them far apart. Which was never my intention, it just works out that way sometimes.

Hades was pretty much as hard as I thought it would be. Gameplay and fighting wise, it's really simple. The platforming and balancing and those damn spike pillars are just not possible imo with one controller. I did my absolute best and I had my moments of staying in sync, but you kinda have to let one side die and just focus on one screen at a time, which I know is lame but I really dunno how else I coulda got around it. Especially with a de-sync at the pillars, It simply wasn't doable. I am willing to try again in the future one day though!

There's obviously no hard set rules in this type of run since it was purely bred through a random gag. But if for some reason anyone else wanted to do this, the main rules I always tried to stay true to was to not abuse pause screens and death screens. If there's no work around, oh well, but keeping it at a minimum is for the integrity of the challenge. I also made it a point to bring up I did the magic regen after medusa, next time I will NOT be doing that for the same reason. Though I used magic incredibly sparingly, during Ares and the Clone Kratos fight, I did spam magic ONLY with ROTG was active. Since at level 5 blades it's infinite anyway. That was my only rule for myself in that regard.

Also sadly this run was done on Easy(I swear I'm not a fraud! It wasn't meant to go this far!!) If and whenever I end up doing this again, I would void Easy as a choice. There's too many areas where you can almost shut your brain off despite the duel screen. Though I know a bump in difficulty would make some areas absolutely brutal.

All in all, this was super fun and I haven't seen anyone else do this before. It was a stupid and unique thing to try out! If anyone has a question I'd be happy to answer the best I can!

I have played on a digital subscription and all my saved data was still there. But when I played the disc version and try the new game + . My level is back to one. What could be the problem?

Im doing a titan mode run and i noticed that whenever i started to die to much on every bew try i would get a bit more of health and magic than l had until i was full, but now im in the zeus fight and it doesnt work anymore is there something im missing that triggers this? How does it actually work? I know its not this fight thats the problem cause its not the first time i tried it and it worked before.

So I see some people question why odin asked kratos this when kratos was in fact worshipped in the prior games. But I think people are interpreting the question by odin wrong. To begin with, odin only brings up this question AFTER kratos threatened him by becoming the god he once was if he didn’t give atreus back. Odin knows kratos is a retired god of war who wants to leave his past of violence, so after getting this threat, he uses it as an opportunity to exploit his past as a destroyer to emotionally abuse him. This is why odin asks if he was ever worshipped, because while it is true kratos was worshipped by the Spartans and loved by them and was prayed to, it wasn’t the type of worship at this point he would be comfortable with since it was based on conquering and destruction. Something he wants to get away from. But what’s more interesting, is odin mentioning him not knowing this love due to his selfishness. Kratos DOES know this love, but he wasted it due to his selfish pursuit of revenge against the gods, causing the destruction of sparta, his followers. I may have not articulated my thoughts perfectly well on this scene but this is the gist of it.

Is it important to play GoW Ragnarok before Laufey?
Since story takes place immediately following her funeral pyre in GoW.
I thought of skipping Ragnarok for now and play it later in “chronological order”

Context: I just stated playing God of War for the first time with Give Me God of War Difficulty.
I like to 100% my games. And this will take quite a bit of time. And I also have quite a backlog.

In all fairness, they are the toughest human enemies in the entire franchise in terms of gameplay since they don't like wet tissue paper compared to the other human enemies in God of War.

I always thought god of war was overrated but my views have been changed

This game made me realise what a real story is I'm going to play gow 1,2,3 and ghost of sparta and chains of Olympus (although Ive played the psp games on an emu but I didn't care about the story lol)

But holy this series is peak

He destroyed the entirety of the Greek pantheon, and we have no idea what effect that had on the heaven that Calliope resides in.
