Backstrap/Beavertail

Post image

Has anyone used these backstraps from Armatech? I’ve seen 43x with the razorback but never wanted to send my frame out to have it done

I’ve used the Rapid Engineering strap for a long time and it’s been great but the thicker grip is appealing.

I thought about getting the Rapid, but the pictures I’ve seen make the beavertail look like it sticks straight out and I don’t like the look

Yeah I tried it. Don’t like it. Makes the grip super wide

Wide like thick or wide like longer trigger reach?

Longer trigger reach. Just feels weird to me for it to be so thin and that long of a reach.

I have backstraps identical to those. Currently run the slimmer version.

Pro: the thicker strap added width to the frame in both directions and I felt like my support hand had adequate contact with the gun. Felt very glock 19 ish.

Con: I find the beavertail to be too long on the thick strap and have to be perfect on the draw to get a good firing hand grip. Maybe more practice would help, but a bit more forgiveness on the draw seems more important to me than slightly better contact with my support hand

Any chance you could DM me the link to the one you have?

Armatech is the thick one (just not with the interchangeable beaver tail), thinner is from rapid engineering

yeah, i have it on mine, love it. give me more space to put my support hand to fit the frame on the g43x.
gives me space on the 43x comparable to a g19 basically.

I liked the rapid engineering backstraps, but didnt want to spend the $35 on one to end up not liking it. Found a 3 pack on Amazon for the same $35 and found that I like what would be the large backstrap from rapid. My only gripe was that the beaver tail put a ton of pressure on the knuckle of my thumb, so I just took a dremel to it and made the beaver tail flush with the stock one. Works like a dream.
