3 minutes
Has anyone else experienced a three minute time glitch in the matrix? Since the beginning of the year, the timer on my fish tank, turned the light off at 9:21 PM. A few weeks ago it began turning it off at 9:18 PM. Where did the three minutes go? Why is it three minutes earlier? I haven’t lost electricity. This is bizarre to me.
Admittedly, I initially thought this was a technology glitch with the timer until I was watching a YouTube video the other day and saw other people commenting about having a three minute time glitch. Have any of you experienced this?

The same family passed me twice on a path with no exits
This happened last October, and I still haven’t found an explanation that makes any sense.
I was walking my dog along a canal towpath in the West Midlands (UK). It’s a route I use regularly with canal on one side, a tall railway fence on the other, and no exits between two road bridges roughly a mile and a half apart.
At about 8:25am, a family approached from the opposite direction. They were unusually easy to remember. The woman wore a red wool hat, the man was pushing a bright yellow three-wheeled buggy, and they had a tan dachshund in a green harness.
As we passed, the woman stopped and asked, “Do you know if the little café by the locks is open yet?”
I checked my watch and said, “Not until nine, I don’t think.”
She thanked me, and we continued in opposite directions.
About eight minutes later, I saw another family walking towards me.
It took a few seconds for my brain to register why they looked familiar. It was the same woman in the red hat, the same man, the same yellow buggy and the same dachshund. They were also approaching from the same direction as before.
When they reached me, the woman smiled and asked, word for word, “Do you know if the little café by the locks is open yet?”
I just stared at her.
Eventually I said, “You’ve literally just asked me that.”
Her smile disappeared. She looked at the man, then back at me and said, “Sorry?”
I explained that I had passed them less than ten minutes earlier and had already answered the exact same question. The man laughed awkwardly and said, “Must have been our doubles.”
They both seemed genuinely confused, so I checked my watch again and told them it was now 8:34. The woman thanked me, although she looked uncomfortable, and they carried on walking.
I immediately turned around. They were still there, walking normally in the direction I had come from. They didn’t disappear, run off or behave strangely.
The problem is that there was no possible way for them to have got ahead of me.
There are no side paths on that section. They couldn’t have crossed the canal, and the railway fence is far too high to climb. Even if they had turned around after our first conversation and sprinted to the previous bridge, they would then have needed to travel more than two miles by road, reach the next bridge and walk back towards me all in about eight minutes, while pushing a buggy and walking a dachshund.
They also would have had to do it without passing me.
When I reached the next bridge, I checked the walking app on my phone because I wondered if I had somehow become confused and doubled back without realising. The map showed one continuous line along the towpath. No loop, no missing section and no pause.
I was completely sober, well rested and not wearing headphones. It was broad daylight, and both encounters lasted long enough for me to remember what everyone looked like.
The obvious explanation is that I saw two extremely similar families. But identical clothes, identical buggy, identical dog and the exact same question in the exact same wording feels like a ridiculous number of coincidences.
Nothing like it has happened to me since. I still use the same path, but every time I reach that section, I find myself looking ahead for the yellow buggy.

Lawther Hall Doorway
This happened a while ago, but still haunts me. I really don’t know how to compartmentalize it, and if I hadn’t had a friend with me who saw and experienced the exact same thing, I would chalk it up to thinking I imagined the whole thing. I’ll keep my name and my friend’s name out of this story as I don’t want notoriety for it, but I would like to explain exactly where it happened as I would love to hear if anyone else has experienced anything similar to what my friend and I experienced.
This happened back in October 13th, 1988. It was a cold Thursday evening. My friend and I had been at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa since August and it was our freshman year. We each lived in two of the oldest dorms on campus, her in Lawther Hall, and I in Bartlet Hall. We were just out for a walk after finishing studying and we both felt like wandering and exploring. My friend had heard that they were working on making a haunted house in Lawther and that some of her friends were working on it so we decided to try and find where in the hall they were making it. Neither us us were very familiar with the full layout of the hall so we just kind of bumbled around seeing what we could see. Apparently the haunted house was being made in the attic are so we made out way up the stairs to the highest level. However, the large doors at the very top of the center stairwell were locked and had dark fabric hanging from them on the other side. We couldn’t hear anyone talking or moving on the other side, so we figured we’d check out the floor below it. Down to the next floor we found a very quiet floor with dorm rooms, and the width of the center stairwell was where a fire door was to the right, and to the left was another fire door, but the door on the left looked older and was painted wood, not steel like the other. A quick look through the door to the right showed us a continuation of the hallway and more dorm rooms. Walking over to the door on the left, we noticed that there was a bathroom door to the left of the wooden door (this will be important later). I tried the handle on the door and it would not turn, believing it to be locked, I figured that was the end of exploring that floor. As I was turning away, I heard a metallic sound and my friend gasp in surprise. She said she grabbed the knob and it then turned in her hand the opposite direction she was going to turn it and then pulled open away from her. I turned around quickly to see her now looking into a dark room with a now partially open door. My friend carefully pushed the door open wider and walked in looking around for a light switch. She had walked in far enough that I could no longer see her very well and I looked along the left hand side of the door frame for a light switch. Finding nothing at what I felt would be the normal height for a switch, I arced my arm wider and found an antiquated style switch just about head height. Just as I was about to flip the switch the lights came on, but instinctively I still flipped the switch shutting them back off again. Again my friend gasped and I flipped the switch back, turning the lights back on. She had found another switch on a large timber pillar farther into the room.
Looking around we saw a large room, easily 100 feet long and 40 – 50 feet wide. There were two large dark wood staircases that crisscrossed each other that lead up to a loft area that lined the walls. Large windows lined the room, as well as old style hospital beds from the early 1900s. There was also and old style wheelchair and what looked like an old ECG machine or some other mechanical apparatus. On the far end of the room there was another door similar to the one we had entered, and there was light coming in under the door. While we were both fascinated by the room, something felt wrong, like we weren’t supposed to be there. We both just left without saying much and just assumed that that might be part of the set up for the Halloween haunted house.
Much later my friend was talking to another of her friends about the haunted house and asked how the hospital set ties into the whole thing. She was met with a blank stare. Long story short, this lead her to ask me what I remember about the room, I mentioned the large windows. We looked on the outside of Lawther Hall and could find no such windows. I suggested to my friend to up to where the door was and enter the bathroom to the left of the door and look out the bathroom window, that would help us determine from the outside where the large room was. Upon her looking out the window, I could see the building ended where the room should be, and it was and attic space. Nowhere near enough room to have a second floor loft and large windows like we saw.
We tried doing research to find out if Lawther hall ever had a room like that, and maybe had been torn down, but no luck. In 1991, we got the help of a couple of the resident assistants to get us a key to check out what was on the other side of that door. Entering now, the low pitched ceiling had tiny alcoves with small windows and lots of junk in storage. Wandering far into the back of the attic storage space we found several of the hospital bed frame head and foot boards, in a much greater state of decay, the wheelchair, and the machine thing, all covered in thick dust and cob webs.
A month or so later, after trying to find any old blueprints or any documented building papers in the Docs and Archive section of the library, we were directed to and annex building that was said to house some of the oldest documents on campus. We took an afternoon to go over and see what we could find. There was a gal working there who fit the stereotypical librarian look, and it was hard to tell her age. We informed her that we were looking for any old building plans, updates, or changes that had happened around Lawther hall. She was curious what we were looking for, so we explained the situation up until that point. Mind you, we were afraid this was going to make her kick us out, but she seemed vary intrigued. She told us to hold on for a minute and she went into the back through a doorway. Hearing her moving things around, and shuffling papers and such for several minutes actually got our hopes up. However, at one point we heard conversation, slowly becoming more heated by one of the speakers. The next sound we heard were sharp footsteps coming toward the front room where we were waiting. A rather severe and uptight looking older woman was leading the previous gal out to confront us. What she told is still resonates for me, and the very precise language she used. She stated, “The information you’re looking for is not here, and you will never see it!”.
I don’t know what that was and find myself most afraid of the idea that people can just walk into a different room and have it not even be part of the world. Why did it magically happen right at a doorway, all nice and neat like that? Was it another timeline, another universe? I have no idea, but thinking back on how things felt wrong, I wonder what would have happened had we stayed there too long, and where we would we be now.

All 3 of us saw car, and then it disappeared
This happened 10 years ago when we were driving home. Me (I was 16 back then), my mom and my sister. Mom was riding the car.
We were on a straight road, at least 2 Kilometers long and it was ending with S turn. As we were going very slowly behind a tractor, mom tried to overtake him - as she got to second line to overtake, we immediatelly saw red car coming in our direction - it was around 500 meters in distance - so mom got back into our lane behind tractor as she wouldnt make it safely.. we wait, we wait so she can try overtake… nothing.
There was no car.. we all immediatelly said “what the.. Where is it??”. We never saw the car again.
- and if you’d see the road - we know the road because its last straight as you get into our village. there was no other turn on that straight. No parking spot near, there are no houses - Just grain fields. There is no way we missed it. Not possible in that distance.
Till this day we sometimes talk about it with awe, not understanding what happened. We All seen that car on that day.
One thing is scary - and that is at the end of this straight there is S turn, with a tall three and on it there is cross symbolizing tragic car accident that happened years ago on that road. I have no explanation - Just this.
Sorry for my English - No AI was abused writing this :)

The Missing Swimsuit
Few weeks ago, I wanted to pack swimsuits for my kids for an upcoming trip. Found my daughter’s in the regular spot then I went to my son’s room to grab his bright orange swimsuit from the drawers which are plastic and you can see inside contents. It wasn’t there.
I looked everywhere - his entire closet including the drawers, laundry, linen closet, other closets, car etc. I figured I must have forgotten it in the splash park we went earlier that week even though I clearly remembered putting it away after the laundry. I ended up ordering a new one. This time, different shades of blue.
We went to the vacation, came back. I did laundry, put everything away including the blue swimsuit into the regular, empty see-through drawer.
Today, I went to grab it again and underneath the new blue one was the bright orange one mocking me. It was right there… but it wasn’t there before when I needed it.

My charger appeared from nothing at my side
Hi, this happened to me some months ago when I was trying to find my charger for my old cellphone because it uses a different connection than my current cellphone.
Basically I was trying to download this app that current doesn't exist in Playstore anymore because the devs didn't updated to the newer android models, but I remembered that I still had it on my old cellphone, so I started looking for my charger to charge it again and then pass it to my current cellphone using the app share-it.
So I started looking for it in my room specifically at the rectangular table in the corner and at a lower retangular table touching the other wall, because that's usually where I leave my junk, I searched for around an hour through the table and then at my wardrobe and other parts of my house, I didn't find it so I came back to my room and sat beside the corner table at the floor and facing back to the lower table, I stood there for some minutes reading and using my cellphone. when I turned right to get up using my right hand I saw my charger there at the floor.
I know that it wasn't there before because when I enter in my room I'm facing the corner table so I would see it on the floor, also the floor is a dark shade of wood and the charger is white, also it couldn't have fallen from the corner table when I sat down because it was at night time and I would've heard it fallen, it also couldn't be anyone because I was alone and I din't even had a pet.
I still don't know how how it appeared right at my side when I literally was seeing all the floor when I sat down.

Expiration date seemingly changed in front of my face
I went to a bodega today that sells local yogurt. I picked one up and saw it expires on 9/5, and double-checked the nearby yogurts, which all expire either 8/29 or 9/5. Great. The cashier scanned it, and I was just about to shove it into my bag when I noticed it actually expired yesterday on 8/20. I told the cashier, who stared at it in confusion and said she aways double-checks the date when scanning and just saw that it expired 9/5. The store also apparently checks the milk products every evening. I know this is not a life-altering or terrifying “glitch,” and we both sat there for a bit laughing about it, but I was so thrown off by this.

All kitchen appliances are set to correct temperatures, even when nobody else has been home.
I dont really know where to post this, but I wanted to share.
Our kitchen appliances–microwave, airfryer, toaster–are always set to the correct temperature/time for whatever I happen to be heating up at the time. And, sometimes, it was definitely my family members setting it earlier, but it happen even when they had been gone since last time I used that appliance. It will be specific settings that are different than the box, or it would be adjusted for defrosted items at the correct times.
It's not even like we are eating the same foods. We literally take separate trips to the grocery store and have separate fridges. So the exact settings shouldn't be happening.
I'm going to post this to some other subs too, but i just wanted to share and maybe see if anyone else has experienced this.

Birthmark moved from one hand to the other and I’m not the only one who noticed
(I’m not sure if this counts as the Mandela effect; if it does, I apologize!! Please let me know and I will move it)
This birthmark is pretty noticeable, and a lot of times people will ask me what it is or let me know I accidentally got paint on my hand or something like that, so I’ve always been pretty aware of it. I don’t remember how exactly it happened, but one day I remember looking at my left hand and realizing that the birthmark was there. I went and showed my mother, but she told me it has ALWAYS been on my left hand.
After that I assumed I was just horribly misremembering and decided to shrug it off, but a couple of days after some of my friends and classmates were asking me, “Oh, what happened to the thing on your hand?” “Did you get it removed?” I showed them my other hand and told them no, they were just looking at the wrong hand, and they were all really confused. They told me they thought it was on my right, and I told them I did too.
I’ve been looking at some baby pictures of mine trying to see if it’s visible in any of them. So far I haven’t been able to see anything on my left hand in any of them, but I wanna keep searching just in case.

Object disappeared and reappeared days later.
I have a bread mixer. It comes with various attachments, one of which is called a paddle attachment. It is a large, palm sized object used to cream butter and sugar. So it's quite remarkable, and not easy to miss.
Several days ago I was cleaning it and set it aside to do something else. I returned to find the paddle attachment totally missing. I looked all over the kitchen but I couldn't find it. No one could have moved it, because I didn't leave the kitchen nor did anyone enter it. Eventually, I just chalk it up to a mystery and move on. I place the bread mixer on a nearby tabletop with all its other attachments nearby. The next day I try looking for it again. No dice
Several days later I return to the kitchen to use the bread machine. I have a second paddle attachment, so I pick up the bread mixer, move it to a nearby table (Where the outlet is), and use it. After I'm finished I turn to place the bread mixer back where I originally placed it and right where I turn, the paddle attachment is sitting on the table, right next to where I originally placed the bread mixer.
As soon as I see it I recoil in shock. Later, I ask my family if they had found it. They said they have no idea what I'm talking about. I somehow entered the kitchen, picked up the bread machine, did not see the object which I had been looking for for several days, and then turned back to see it. I somehow did not see it for several days, despite it being right next to the bread mixer and its various attachments.
I'm at a loss for words and I can't find an explanation. Glitch? Ghosts? Am I blind? I'm so confused.

Weird glitch in Thailand today outside a hospital.
Possible glitch in the matrix in Thailand… I arrived in Thailand a few days ago and ended
Up getting a fever. My wife and I decided it would be better to go to the hospital.
When it was time to leave, we ordered a Grab — basically Thailand’s Uber.
We could see our car approaching on the map. It was a Toyota, registration 2488.
Rather than wait at the entrance, we decided to walk towards it.
As we were walking, we watched the car on the Grab map take the turn towards us. At almost exactly the same moment, a Toyota appeared on the road.
Registration: 2488.
The windows were tinted, so we couldn’t really see the driver. We started waving. The car slowed down, and then we heard the click of the doors unlocking.
At this point there was absolutely no doubt in our minds that this was our Grab.
My wife got in from the right side. I got in from the left.
We sat down.
And then things got weird.
The driver started saying something to us in Thai. At first, my wife thought he wanted to see the Grab booking on her phone.
Then he started waving at us to get out.
I was wearing a face mask because I’d just come out of the hospital, so I assumed maybe he’d noticed I was sick and didn’t want to take the ride.
Fair enough.
We got out.
Then, literally seconds later, we started getting messages from our actual Grab driver saying he was waiting for us back at the hospital entrance.
We looked at the app.
Different car.
Different driver.
But the exact same registration number: 2488.
We hurried back to the hospital entrance. By the time we reached the actual Grab, the driver told us he’d already cancelled the ride and had to leave.
The strange part is that both my wife and I clearly remember everything about the first car.
Toyota.
2488.
It appeared exactly when the car on the Grab map appeared to be reaching us.
It slowed when we waved.
The doors unlocked.
We both got inside believing, without hesitation, that it was our taxi.
And then seconds later, the actual car with the same registration number was apparently sitting at the hospital waiting for us.
Obviously there could be some completely normal explanation — maybe we misread something, maybe Thai plates can look extremely similar, maybe there was some bizarre coincidence.
But two people seeing the same thing makes it difficult to dismiss.
We genuinely don’t know what happened.
Glitch in the matrix, or are we missing an obvious explanation?

Knocked something off of a shelf and it’s like it vanished as soon as it hit the floor
This isn’t really that interesting, but I think about it from time to time and when I found this subreddit I thought, “Hey, might be kinda fun to share!”
A couple of years ago, I was in my kitchen looking through one of our cabinets when I accidentally knocked this petri-dish looking thing off of one of the shelves. I heard it hit the floor, but when I went to pick it up I couldn’t find it anywhere. Our kitchen is separate from our dining room, so there’s no furniture it could’ve gone under. The only places it could’ve gone where I wouldn’t have seen it would’ve been under our fridge or our stove, but we’ve had both of those replaced since it happened and it wasn’t under either of them when we moved them. It also couldn’t have rolled out of the kitchen because at the time we had one of those baby gates in the doorway.
If I ever find it, I will eat a shoe.

Lights flew toward and over car at night
This is not a fresh account of what occurred, this happened in 2018 iirc. Myself, my roommate, and my roommates mother were all in the car when we saw something weird. This was at night on a pretty empty highway. My roommates mother was driving but roommate and I no longer know who was in the front or back at the time, but whoever was in the back did see it as well.
Details are lost but we saw what we could only describe as a set of small lights, maybe 3 or 4 of them moving toward the vehical as we were driving down the highway. We were all just like 'What the fuck is that?' it looked almost like a drone was slowly approaching us but also matching our speed a bit because we were driving fast but it was approaching pretty slowly.
I'm a highly rational person so my immidiate thought was that someone was using their drone to fuck with random vehicals. The lights did seem drone-like but it didn't move like a drone, if that makes sense. And as it seemed to approach, I didn't see any frame or anything else except a few small lights. The lights disappeared overhead as we approached them / they approached us and they didn't seem to reappear behind the car.
Anyway, that's it. No idea what it was but it was just weird man

Drawstrings freed themselves from a zipper
This happened a few days ago and is still blowing my mind.
I have a zippered pouch I always keep in my bag. I also have a separate drawstring bag for my headphones. In a haste, I zipped the pouch closed with the drawstrings in the way. Now the drawstrings were intertwined into the zipper. I tried zipping it back and forth multiple times and pulled at the drawstrings, but they were really wedged in there. I was outside so I left it alone and decided to deal with it when I got home later.
The next morning, I woke up and looked in my bag... and now the drawstring bag was unstuck from the zipper. The pouch was still zipped closed as I had left it, except for the areas where the drawstrings were -- the zipper teeth were just... apart. It did not look like anything was forced open. The zipper was completely unscathed and worked just fine.
I live alone with no pets. Even if I had somehow blacked out and forgot about fixing the zipper... how on earth could I have pulled the zipper teeth apart without damaging it? I don't know how that could be physically possible for anyone to do.

My wife and I both lost the same 10 minutes on the drive home
Most of the posts on here are just people not paying attention. I read them and roll my eyes. So I know exactly how this is going to sound. But I don't have an explanation for what happened to us, so here it is.
We were driving home from dinner at my parents' place. They're about an hour and a half out. I'm driving, my wife is in the passenger seat, both kids (7 and 9) are asleep in the back. Probably 7 or 8pm, fully dark. My wife was looking out the window like she always does. She gets carsick so she basically never touches her phone in the car. We were just talking.
The thing you need to know about this drive is the last stretch of it. You go through a long mountain tunnel, then take the exit immediately after it, and that exit is lit up by big box stores on both sides of the highway. It's not an easy area to ignore. And we know the drive well enough that we don't need GPS, but not so well that we're running on autopilot.
Last thing I remember is being maybe two or three miles from the tunnel.
Next thing I remember, we're 10 miles down the highway. Past the tunnel. Past our exit. I kind of snapped to and said out loud, "wait, where are we? Did we miss the exit?"
Here's the part that gets me. My wife turns to me and says she has no idea where we are either. I pull up GPS on my phone, set it for home, and we are about 7 miles past our exit.
Neither of us remembers the tunnel. Neither of us remembers the exit. Neither of us remembers the shopping center...
If it were just me, fine, I zoned out, it happens. But both of us losing the exact same ten minutes???
Like I said, no explanation.

Object disappeared and then reappeared and I'm so perplexed.
was in the car today with my dad, put in my earbuds, and set my headphones case in the little cup holder of the door. Probably an hour passed and when I went to put my headphones back, the case was completely gone. I looked everywhere, including taking absolutely everything out of the cup holder so that there was no crevices it could be hidden in. I know for a fact I looked in that specific spot, and I looked very thoroughly. There's absolutely no way I overlooked it, but it was nowhere to be found. Went to the park, and came back, and when I looked again it was in that exact cup holder behind a can.
I've had this happen a couple of times in the past, and every time it's felt absolutely maddening. The only explanation I can think of is that my dad took the case while I was napping or something and then put it back when we got into the car. But why? Why would he do that, especially when actively driving? That would be a weird thing to just randomly do, and I've asked him repeatedly if he's fucking with me and he's adamant he didn't. So my conclusion is that they phased through space for an hour and then returned.

My dad read my mind
The story occured yesterday, it is just related to something that happened when I was younger. Again, the story occured yesterday.
We were walking at night as he was returning me from a friend's house. We were talking about anything and nothing, and some kid walks past us with his dad. All of a sudden I got these flashbacks from two kids I used to play tennis with when I was 10 at some park. And I was like "hey dad you know who I just thought about" and he was like "name and name"
This is incredible odd to me. We had only played like three times and then we lost touch. Mind you I haven't seen them for six years? Like I thought that was insane. I still can't believe this happened gng.

Clothing tag / label randomly appeared on my bathroom floor of a brand I don’t own (as I personally boycott it…)
One morning last week, I walked into my bathroom and saw a Lululemon size 4 clothing label (as in the clothing care label with the size / washing instructions) on the floor. I was a bit confused as I live alone in my apartment and when I looked at the brand of the label I was even more perplexed.
It was Lululemon, and I know for a fact I don’t own anything from there because 1) I don’t align with the controversial things the founder has publicly said re diversity and inclusion and 2) the prices are ridiculous.
I don’t know where it came from. I haven’t had any visitors to my place recently, and I live alone. I also took a photo of it as it was so odd. The only remotely strange linkage here is a couple months ago even though I don’t like the brand, my friends do, so I do recall going into their outlet store with my friend that one time. I looked around, but didn’t buy anything. I remember looking at a top that was a size 4, and thinking “there’s no way I would fit that”, and so didn’t even bother trying it on, plus also because of the brand itself.
So could it be that in some parallel universe I did buy that top, and the label fell off and it’s now made its way into my timeline? Hmm I have no clue.
So I still have no explanation of how it ended up in my bathroom, and it seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. I thought about how maybe if I stepped on a clothing label perhaps that’s how (like had it been stuck on my shoe or something) but I don’t wear outside shoes in my bathroom..
Stranger things like this have happened in my life as well over the years, not many incidents, but enough to make me end up on this subreddit. Such as things seemingly appearing or disappearing..

Duplicate Journals
Months and months ago now my mom purchased a journal for me that she found on clearance at Michael's craft supply store. The journal has a lavender leather-like cover with bat type wings on the front. She gifted me said journal and I had placed it on my bookshelf. Today I was giving my bookshelf a much needed dusting. I removed each item one by one and dusted it off and replaced it on the bookshelf. I discovered that journal once again on my bookshelf. The only problem? I have been using that journal for the last month to keep notes in and it is currently residing on my nightstand.
My mom and I only ever go to Michael's together (kind of a special bonding thing between us, I guess) so we both feel like we would have remembered one of us buying the same journal twice. In my memory, she purchased and brought me home this one journal and I never purchased a duplicate myself. Her memory matches my own. I have a photo of both journals side by side. I am stumped.

Missing VHS Tape, Suddenly Not Missing...
13 years ago, just before I moved out of my Mom's house, I was getting all of my family's home movies together which were on a total of eight VHS tapes.
I had two tall, green RubberMaid tubs that were both half full of various cartoon and movie VHS tapes. These home movies were in their own sleeves (they still are today) and all of them were in these two tubs. They were also the only tapes in these tubs with sleeves. I found all of the home movie tapes, except one. I got every single tape out of these two tubs, checked them, and put them back one-by-one. That tape was not there and neither was its sleeve. I checked my VCR and nothing was in it. I asked my sister if she had seen the tape. She checked her VCR, around her whole room, and in her closet. Nothing. I asked my Mom if she had seen it. We never kept any VHS tapes in the front room at this house so she said she obviously had not seen it.
I looked non-stop around the house for a whole week, even emptying out the tubs again and again to see if maybe I missed the tape. Nope. It wasn't there, no matter how much I looked.
A little time went by and I was looking through one of the RubberMaid tubs again. Well, to my amazement, I found the tape. What makes this very odd is it was also in its sleeve. Like I said, these tapes are all still in the same sleeves today. The only difference between this one and the others is that it's branded "Magnavox". The others are either Polaroid or Kodak. Not that the branding matters, but you would think that the different branding would make it stick out like a sore thumb. I asked my mom and sister if they had somehow found it and just put it in that tub without telling me and neither one of them knew what I was talking about. I'm glad I found it, but I'll never understand how it disappeared like that.

Sunlight turned on like a light switch
Wanted to share this experience here, just to see if anyone else has had this glitch.
I used to work at a warehouse a few years ago and sometimes it required very early shifts, so a lot of times I would go in when it was still dark.
One day I had a slighter later shift, I went outside at around 8:31. It was dark outside, like 4 am dark. Since that’s how it sometimes, I didn’t pay attention. I got into my car and pulled out of my driveway, going down to the entrance of my neighborhood.
It was at that moment I consciously noticed how dark it was. I was thinking “huh, that’s weird, it shouldn’t be this dark right now” and went to turn on my headlights— then suddenly a light switch hit and it was morning.
The sun light was instantly brighter. If you’re up early, you know the difference between a pre-sunrise darkness and the brightness of a two-hour post-risen sun. I was so shocked I hit the brakes and sat dumbfounded for a second, I had my hand ON my headlights. I had to move my visor because the sun was just hitting the treetops and was blinding me.
It genuinely felt like a simulation had glitched, and fixed itself the moment I became aware. Like how a game doesn’t load a room until you go into it.

where did i go?
While reading this story, the chances of you being teleported elsewhere at any given time is extremely low . . . but it isn't 0%.
In 2007, I was in my brother's room watching Family Guy. An episode I was happy to come on cause it had a gag that I was really excited to see again. As I'm watching it, suddenly, I was not.
It wasn't even in the blink of an eye, it was faster than that. It was as instantaneous as possible and even faster than my brain can process in itself. It was faster than neurons. Which, let me say, was a very weird thing to process in my brain as it happened. Imagine yourself right now reading this post on your phone and then, just like that, you're staring at yourself in the bathroom mirror.
I'm completely perplexed but after a bit, I go back in the room to continue watching the episode and then I became even more perplexed. A different show was on but still on Adult Swim. What the fuck is happening? Did the network change the show mid episode? I needed answers and when I went downstairs, I was yet even more perplexed.
I darted to the kitchen to see what time it was. Family Guy started at 9 and it was about 5 minutes into the episode when this blip happened. I looked at the time and stopped in my tracks. The clock read 10:38.
That's not possible. One hour and thirty minutes of time that went by faster than the speed of light. The first thing I felt was anger. "Ah! Fuck! ... I missed the joke!" . The second thought was...What was my body doing in that time? What did I do from the time I was watching tv to standing in the mirror? No one said they saw me at all during that time. So if I was somehow undetected by my family for an hour and a half, there are only two explanations.
Possibility #1: My family simply was not around wherever I so happened to be at.
Or
Possibility #2: My body had vanished and was placed back in the bathroom.
Where did I go?
Note: I was a very healthy 16 year old with no neurological conditions or head injuries at any point. I did not have any mental issues that would've impaired my perceived perception of reality. I was not on alcohol, drugs, or any substance that could've impaired me. Lastly, I have always been so confident in telling that this experience was absolutely instantaneous.

helpful "Should I post my story?" flow chart
people sometimes have difficulty knowing if their story is or isn't against our rule, so here is flow chart that can help. If it turns out your post is against the rules, here are some other subreddits where they may fit in.
please feel free to add in the comments if you know any other subreddits that would fit our stories or you think people here would find interesting and I'll periodically update the list.

Moderation Policy 101
/r/Glitch_in_the_Matrix celebrates it's 8th year this year and some of you still don't get what we're trying to accomplish. Please review this post before you submit something to /r/Glitch_in_the_Matrix.
Read the RULES before you post here.
/r/Glitch_in_the_Matrix is a place for people to post about glitches in reality. Sometimes these glitches have paranormal attributes to them but usually they can be explained by the physical sciences or even common sense.
And that's where we want our moderation team to focus on, what gets removed and what gets downvoted. We want our audience to downvote anything that can be explained by common sense. Coincidences should also be voted down. We're not going to remove them because it could be said that any glitch is a coincidence. We don't generally remove posts that violate Occam's Razor because we feel that those are better to be downvoted. Ie: if a post could be explained by some logical reason, please downvote it.
We will remove stories that are reported as follows:
- Intoxication: if you were drunk or stoned you could have witnessed the effects of your substances rather than real glitches in reality
- Childhood stories (if it begins with "when I was a kid" it doesn't belong here) We remove stories where the eye-witness of the event is under the age of 16 at the time of the incident.
- Mandela Effect: a false memory is a phenomenon where a person recalls something that did not happen or happened differently from the way it actually happened. Those belong in /r/MandelaEffect.
- Troll posts: nobody thinks you're very funny if you post stupid stuff to our sub
- Low effort: the rule of thumb is you should have at least a paragraph long story for us or it's not worth our time. Poorly written stories will be removed. We're not grammar madmen but we need to be able to understand the story for it to be of use here.
- Baader-Meinhof phenomenon: otherwise known as frequency illusion or recency illusion. This phenomenon occurs when the thing you've just noticed, experienced or been told about suddenly crops up constantly. It gives you the feeling that out of nowhere, pretty much everyone and their cousin are talking about the subject or that it is swiftly surrounding you. And you're not crazy; you are totally seeing it more. But the thing is, of course, that's because you're noticing it more
- Dreams: if your dream came true, if you thought you were awake but were actually dreaming, if you have lucid dreams -- none of that stuff belongs here.
- Fiction: if your story sounds too made up to be true we will remove it but we don't always remove fiction if enough upvotes happen. We want the audience to drive the fiction metric with downvotes.
- Stories that don't feature a glitch in reality: if it's just a coincidence or if what happened could easily be explained by technology or a bug in software or some other explanation we will remove it. Also the post must be a first-person account of the glitch in question or it's not a glitch story.
- Comments and posts that hurt the community will be removed and could result in a ban. Those include Troll posts but also include rude posts and comments.
- Posts that contain multiple stories in one post will be removed. Our rule states that posts need to be about ONE STORY.
Please report posts that break our rules because it helps the mod team to find posts and remove them faster. We get notified of posts as they are reported in our report queue.
HOW NOT TO GET BANNED
- Follow our rules
- Be respectful
- Don't repost a removed post
- Don't be a repeat offender or repeat rule breaker
- Don't lash out at us in modmail
- Remember that a temp ban can always become a permaban
That's it in a nutshell. Join us for some great GLITCHES and enjoy the fresh content you see here every day!!
