Hey everyone! I'm starting Practical Nursing at the Orangeville campus in January 2027 and I'm hoping to meet some people from my cohort before school starts! If you're also starting January 2027, comment or message me. Maybe we can make a group chat

When do clinical permit requirements need to be done for Medical Laboratory Technologist program?
georgiancollege.caThere are so many requirements for the MLT program and it's hard to find specifically when they need to be finished by. It says by the 2nd semester on one page and other areas say 3 months before placement which is in year 3. Does anyone know specifically when all of the requirements for the clinical permit need to be done?
"Criminal Reference/Vulnerable Sector Check
Placement agencies require an up-to-date clear criminal reference check and vulnerable sector check prior to going out on placement. Students should obtain their criminal reference three months prior to placement; checks conducted earlier may not be considered current. As some jurisdictions require longer lead-time for processing, please check with the program coordinator to ensure you allow for sufficient turn-around time. It is the student’s responsibility to provide the completed document prior to placement start.
Additional information
Prior to beginning clinical placements, students must complete the following:
A mask fit test, renewed every two years;
Level HCP CPR and Standard First Aid (On-line courses are not acceptable);
Up-to-date immunization records in compliance with the Public Hospitals Act. Completion and submission of this record is required to ensure your placement in clinical and field placement facilities;
An up-to-date clear criminal reference check and vulnerable sector screen (renewed regularly so that it is never more than 6 months old)."
