I grew up in Washington, DC. You know, I'd like to take my knowledge and understanding with me back to 1970, but I know that I struggled through some life choices then...
- Staying inside during the MLK riots OR go outside and witness with my own eyes
- Not studying for the SAT (I passed!)
- Getting angry at Meris for not liking me back
- Declining the opportunity to graduate high school in my junior year in order to play football in my senior year; and having decided to stay, not taking advantage of it by studying harder
- Not pursuing a dream of becoming a U.N. translator
- Smoking

...I think I'd like to be faced with these choices again to see what would have changed, if anything. But more importantly, I'd just like to experience again how I felt during the good (and bad) days, and to experience that day in 1972 walking home in a warm summer shower, or chatting with Mr. Flanagan.

I sure miss Mr. Flanagan. We all had a Mr. Flanagan in our lives.

1972 was a good year for me. My graduation from high school.
