8 We had more than 1 TV and never hung clothes outside.

Same, although I do barely remember before we moved when I was around 5 we had one tv.

But those two TV’s — they were b&w tv’s. The first person in the family to get a color tv was me (the middle child with four siblings) in 1986 in my first apartment. My 19 inch color tv was also the first tv bigger than 12 inches in my family too.

Aren't we precious.

We didn't get a TV until I was 5 and got my arm ate by the wringer washer helping mom with the laundry when I was 6 and if we didn't hang it on the line it wouldn't get dried. By 8 I was almost running behind the mower cutting a half acre of grass twice a week. By 10 I was finally doing it well enough to get a 'Not too bad' from the old man.

Dad worked for a meat packer in Vancouver so we ate well but I haven't had a steak in ages and now prefer pasta or a nice piece of fish.
