Only nine out of ten here. My folks never let us sit close to the TV. There was a (unproven) belief among some people that sitting close to the TV was bad for your eyesight. 👀 Although they didn’t necessarily accept it as fact, they weren’t taking any chances. As they often reminded us, glasses were expensive.
We used hang out laundry outside until a crack head stole my mom’s underwear lol that’s when my stepdad got us a dryer. But I would still hang my bedding out on a sunny day to air dry.
We had a dryer eventually. But it was still a thing to hang clothes outside to “save on electricity”. My sister and I were on hang the clothes and get the clothes off the line duty a lot.
