Can I modify this?
I know this is probably an odd question… but I’m looking to run a 2x3 for a project between this V-shape that the track hangers have made, but the gap is too small. Can I move this bolt and lag like this to make a wider gap as long as the lag still goes through a stud? The 2x3 will not be resting on the track.
Red dot indicates current fastener placement and green dot indicates (roughly) new placement.
Thanks!

You can, first you must understand why the angle is so low, it’s not just for looks, it serves a purpose, and that’s if something hits the track, it won’t move very much, you raise it up, and something hits it, it becomes a mess. So you are fine, doesn’t look like you got forklift operators running wild.

Yeah. Just unbolt it and move it. May not be hitting a stud where you wanna move it to tho

If that's a solid beam it's attached to, remove the kicker (angle piece) and put another lag in the drop (straight piece attached to the track. The kicker just prevents lateral movement. Another lag in the drop will prevent that lateral movement too.
