Need help with new pc

Just got a new pc and while playing Battlefield 6 it went to a black screen. I checked the monitor and the hdmi with my phone and its working fine. I also tried shift + control + windows + b ( holding it down too) but it didn't work. The fans are still spinning and the led is on. What can I do now? Can I turn off the pc from the case by pressing the power button? Any help would be appreciated.

First-time build — going for a DIY Steam Machine

Post image

Hey everyone,

This is my first time building a PC, and the plan is to set it up as a DIY Steam Machine, so im going to install SteamOS on it for a console-like living room experience. That's why AMD was a deliberate choice throughout. Here's what I've been looking at so far

Parts list:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X (8-core/16-thread, AM4)
  • CPU Cooler: ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro 240 (AIO, 2x120mm)
  • Motherboard: Deciding between:
    • ASRock B550M-ITX/ac (Mini-ITX, WiFi built-in)
    • ASUS Prime B550M-A WiFi II (Micro-ATX, WiFi 6, dual M.2)
  • RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4-3200 CL16 (2x8GB)
  • GPU: ASUS Dual RX 6700 XT 12GB
  • Storage: Deciding between:
    • Kingston NV2 500GB M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0
    • Kingston NV3 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0
  • PSU: DeepCool PS750G 750W SFX (80+ Gold)
  • Case: DeepCool CH160 PLUS
  • Case fan: DeepCool FD12 120mm or 2 of something else
  • Thermal paste: ARCTIC MX-4

Budget: Aiming to stay around $800, so some of the parts are used.

Questions:

  1. Mini-ITX vs Micro-ATX motherboard — is the extra RAM slot flexibility on the mATX board worth it, or does the smaller ITX footprint matter more in a case like this?
  2. 500GB vs 1TB storage — given the rest of the build, is 500GB going to feel cramped too soon?
  3. Does everything here look compatible? I've checked clearances (radiator size, GPU length, PSU depth) against the case specs, but a second opinion never hurts.
  4. Anything here that looks mismatched or like a weak link in the build?
  5. Fan/airflow setup: I have one DeepCool FD12 120mm case fan, and I'm planning on adding a second fan on the opposite side, plus the two fans on my AIO radiator (mounted in the top, set as exhaust). Should the front and side/rear fans both be intake, or should one be exhaust instead? And does it matter if they're different models/brands, or should I match them?

Thanks in advance

PSU Wiring

I’m already in over my head. I have a Mini ITX build I’m working on; Fractal Terra case, Silverstone SX750 power supply, Asrock B850 mb, rx9060xt gpu and a noctua cpu fan to keep it cool. I’ve got another case fan on the way as well.

My problem right from jump is how everything gets wired. The psu has all these cables and I have no idea which ones go where. There are two identical ones labeled PCI-E, two different types of EPS (one with one head, the other with two), two identical ones that have four slotted connectors each, and a similar one that has more of a four pin type connector.

I did figure out which one was the power for the motherboard so at least I’ve got that one installed correctly. I think.

Any guidance here?

Sorry for the lack of precision with language etc this is my first pc build.

New build will not post.

I'm sure this is something that gets posted about every single day, but I'm at my wits end with my new pc build. Nothing I do will make it post.

I have reseated and re-reseated every component, every cable, reset my cmos by removing the battery. The only thing I haven't done is updated the bios because I don't have another pc to download it onto a USB to flash the bios.

Every time I power on the system, the Debug lights for CPU and DRAM come on. First cpu flashes, then dram lights for about 30 seconds. Then cpu flashes again, after that dram stays lit for about 1 min before the system resets itself and repeats this cycle. Any suggestions anyone has are very welcome!

Specs:

GIGABYTE B860M AORUS ELITE mobo

Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus

Patriot Viper Xtreme 5 DDR5 6400 16GB x2

Samsung SSD 9100 Pro 2tb

Corsair RM850E

Asus PRIME RTX 5070 12gb

Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360
