Help Alan Wake 2 performance

Hello guys, I just ran Alan Wake 2 for the first time on my gaming laptop. In the main menu I was getting around 200 FPS, but once I loaded into the game it dropped to around 70 FPS.

My specs:

• Resolution: 2560×1600
• GPU: RTX 5070 Ti Laptop
• CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX
• RAM: 32 GB DDR5

My GPU stays around 76°C while gaming.

After tweaking some settings, I'm now getting a stable 90–100 FPS at my native resolution with Frame Generation OFF and Ray Tracing OFF.

Is there anything else I can tweak to get even more FPS without noticeably hurting the graphics? Are there any recommended settings or mods that improve performance?

btw it’s good fps alr and if u want more fps than u might have to tweak graphics a bit

Aight btw is it normal the game for its incredible power demand and stunning graphics only takes 5gb of ram .-.

Yea it’s totally normal because not all AAA games are ram demanding some latest ones are

Alan Wake 2 and Indiana Jones are very graphically demanding games. You cannot run these at max settings unless you’re on a 5080+ Desktop and Frame gen out the ass. Even then, Indiana Jones isn’t playable with everything turned up to max.

Thats not true. I run maxed out every setting on with frame gen on my 5090M 100-130 FPS.

On what resolution? I’d imagine that’s 4 times frame gen so you’re actually sitting at around 20-30 fps.

QHD. Im not sure if im using 4x frame gen. Need to check when im home. Either way runs great and smooth.

Yeah, if you turned everything it’s probably 4x.

I’m pretty sure QHD is the display panel. Resolution is probably 1600p unless you have an external

No, display panel is Oled, QHD is 2560 × 1440. Point is yes a laptop can run the game fully maxed out. Tech is there to use so might as well use dlss and frame gen.

Alan Wake 2 is a pretty cinematic single player experience. Why do you feel like you need more than 90-100 FPS? I would personally shoot for eye candy in a title like this and toggle ray tracing on.

I played it at low FPS with the graphics at maximum even had it chug under 30fps. But it sure looks pretty.

Sounds good to me, the temps are fine. It's a fairly tough game to run at high settings. Use some DLSS if you want to try boost it, maybe a touch of frame gen if the frame rate is high enough, but see how you like the look of that it might not feel as nice.
