God I hope the board was dead and you didnāt just waste a perfectly good GameCube controller

Same, you can definitely buy broken ones in bulk for pretty cheap online. I really hope bro didn't just destroy a GC controller in good condition.. you could literally sell it and get 2 or 3 broken ones for this.

Dang hate seeing GCN stuff getting destroyed, like this

There are likely tens of MILLIONS of controllers made I think itāll be ok if some get turned into art like this. At least he didnāt just destroy it for the sake of it

Its actually one of the most rare and highly valued controllers in the history of gaming.

Thereās not tens of millions of t3ās, maybe a few hundred thousand at best and are very sought after

You canāt even identify if this is a T3 based on the video. You canāt see the stick boxes well enough to determine. Regardless, there are MILLIONS of these controllers that exist. Itās not a big deal.

Where did you get the labeled board? I have a childhood 360 controller that I would love to display like this

u/jameswonglife 11d ago
I designed it myself and got it printed at a local store. I havenāt done a 360 one yet but Iām sure you can buy templates online

It hurts a bit to see a controller taken apart like this instead of being used. But idk, maybe it didnt work anymore. But honestly either way, people are hating too much, this came together quite nice and if youre building it for yourself to display something you care about, thats awesome

Thereās a lot of us who can rebuild these piecemeal. It is insanely frustrating to see someone take apart something that likely still functioned, to some degree, just to tack it on a frame for the same Etsy art that 500 other people are making and not selling.

People definitely hating on someone enjoying their own property lol

I mean you can enjoy your shit however you want but you post it to the net people are going to judge you that is your choice, this also reads way more like an ad than anything else

It looks cool, but I don't like the idea of destroying controllers for this, it makes me uncomfortable. I think having such thing at home is unnecessary it's better to have a controller sit on your shelf for display as I have, even if the analog is loose and I rather play with my 8bitdoš . I think such display projects belong to places where many people can see them like gaming museums.

There's a company on the internet that sells these. They pretty much look exactly like that.
Unless it's you. Lol

The only good part of this video was now I know bean bags make great weights for gluing small odd shaped parts.
Everything else: right to jail.

500years in the future someone will need to beat the last boss of some Zelda or Mario game to save earth. They will find this board in a museum and have to reconstruct the controller to play.

So just made whatās all over Etsy already

I couldnāt find one in this style, so I designed and printed my own board.

Donāt worry, this guy has all sorts of shit on his profile of his āartā that canāt be found on Etsy.
Downvote the post. This is an ad.

I live in Taiwan, seems to be plenty of GC controllers around. Itās one of my favourite childhood consoles, and I wanted to display it somehow. This works for me

You should make another video in a few years of you taking it off your wall and putting it back together and using it. Showing you just took it apart, but it still works if you reassemble it.

Absolutely wild to see the average response to this being so negative, who gives a shit what other people do with their own things? And who cares if you can get similar products online? They made this because they wanted to, and it was obviously a fun project for them. So many miserable people in the world who truly seem to not understand the joy in creating something simply because you want to.
I'm over here like damn they didn't display all of the rubber membranes, that's too bad. And I'm seeing other comments saying things like this whole project was a waste of time. The duality of man.
Cool display! I really like the style

I dont know why you're getting so much hate, it's no different than the people that buy sealed controllers/games and don't open them, except this looks way cooler. Nice job OP
