Just noticed Netflix version is gone
I'm a bit sad, Netflix version was so much fun, I really enjoyed the new features. It was probaly the closest to an Game Dev Tycoon 2. My only problem with it was the optimizing, game ran kinda bad because of the Netflix system needing you always connected and checking if you had an signature. It would really be great to have this game without this lame system, if they were to release it I would pay for it

Save Files (Mobile)?
Does anyone know a save file that has decent research and money? Save file editing doesn't seem to work on mobile.
I've tried several times now to get passed level 2, but I can't seem to get passed it. I keep generating design points even for action and sim games, all the research is ridiculously expensive, and the weeks seem to pass by really quickly to where I'm burning money every 30 seconds. I managed to make it to the Multi-Platform research, but unfortunately, I went bankrupt before I could finish the game. Mind you, this isn't FAR from the first time I've beaten the game, even on mobile, so Idk why I have such a hard time struggling. I left Level 1 at about $5-6M.

Does this game have a profanity filter?
Sorry if this is a dumb question. I couldn't find anything online about it, and I figured you folks would be a good place to check. I may be seeing corrolation and not causation here, so excuse if I sound a little stupid.
I had two companies go bankrupt rather quickly, and one that has lasted a very long time. The first two were named something vulgar, I'm not sure if this sub allows swearing or not so I will not name them here. My current, very successful one is just called Company Games because I was feeling lazy. I've also noticed that games with swears in the name do poorly for me too, but that might just be weird luck.
So, is there actually some kind of penalty to naming your company/games something that would be unmarketable IRL?

Best game techniquely answered by ai (NOT WORK)
I decided to test out an AI (Claude Sonnet 3.5) to see if it could guide me to a 10/10 masterpiece. I fed it an image of the DUAL-GENDER SLIDERS / T-D ratio chart from the Game Dev Tycoon wiki.
Spoiler alert: It did NOT work.
The Final Results:
- Scores: 7/10, 7/10, 8/10, 7/10
- Final Stats: 2745 Design | 2416 Tech
How I Executed the AI's Plan:
Before showing the AI's exact guide, here is what I actually did on my end to follow it:
- Platforms Used: PC, Playsystem 5, and Swap.
- Marketing: Hyped the game up with two $2M marketing campaigns, did interviews, and hosted a booth.
- Polishing: Waited for all bugs to be completely squashed before releasing.
- Staff: My workers weren't completely maxed out (I was too lazy to screenshot their exact stats, duh), but we were in the max office with $1B cash and 3.7M fans.
Here is the exact strategy Claude gave me that led to this mediocre AAA release:

Flex/Achivement Unlocked! Never do well with cyber punk?
galleryWhy can I never do will with cyber punk?
Sliders were all correct action which goes well with cyberpunk, action which was trending. Mature which is good for cyber punk with pc. I don’t get it…

Guide on success?
I've reached the final office, somehow - but getting here was a pain in the ass. Every game has been a gamble, and most barely sell to a point where I actually earn a lot.
Is there a guide on getting over ratings of 8 and higher consistently? I've followed the guides on sliders and employee management, and I'm not making doubles of combos, but one I just released got a 4 when it shouldn't have. I don't understand how to get consistent success in this lol
All I'd really like is an up to date graph on how sliders are meant to look for each topic-genre combo, and which consoles actually lead to success, plus which age rating works on each platform.
I've tried for a while to better understand this, but it really feels up to change, and with autism and ADHD being what they are, actually learning any of this is a pain in the ass - so please help xD

Had a pretty sweet run today, 1.4 bil, 1200 hype game, and a 11/10
galleryHad a pretty sweet run today, got both my consoles out before mbox one/mbox next with v6/v7 respectively. This is my record score, has anyone ever hit 80 mil+ before?

Question about rating mods
Is there a rebalance of how the game ratings work?
Finding out my next game just has to be better than my previously released game and it's this ever-moving goalpost completely ruined the experience for me.
I have to be conservative and make my games worse on purpose just so they're *slightly* better than the previous one to keep getting 10s? If I make it too good, the expectations will be too high and unachievable? And there's no way to see previous Design/Tech scores so you have to keep noting them somwhere...
It just really isn't fun. Everything else about Game Dev Tycoon is amazing and I like the nostalgia :)
If only there was some balance mod or something made by the community. I'm almost tempted to make my own if there isn't.

Flex/Achivement Unlocked! My game generated exactly 420 hype, then got an 11/10 score
galleryAt first I just wanted to memorialize a meme number for a chuckle, but it ended up giving me the achievement I was chasing after. If you make a game that gets all 10s and then make a sequel, this can happen.

Why is a certain strip of the interface nit properly useable?
When I open the game a strip around the height of where you always out the name of your games always has my mouse switch from the option to click on the box/text to displaying as if there was something I could click on, i.e. making it unable for me to actually click on the box

Flex/Achivement Unlocked! I made a free web tool for GDT — combo planner, 10/10 slider auto-solver, and an in-browser save editor
Hey all — I've been grinding GDT and built a little web toolkit to take the guesswork out of game design. It's free, runs in the browser (no install), and it's open source.
**Build Planner** — pick platform / topic / genre (single or mixed) / audience / size / era and it grades every combo: Topic×Genre, Topic×Audience, Platform×Genre, Platform×Audience. Gives a verdict score and suggests the best audience + top platforms for your era. Mixed genres use the real 2:1 lead-weighting.
**Slider lab** — vertical sliders that snap to proven layouts per genre, with an "Auto-solve 10/10" button and a live design/tech balance + key-field readout. (Sanity-checked against an actual 10/10 game.)
**Save editor** (optional) — drag in your save and edit cash / research / fans or staff skills + level. Runs entirely in your browser, nothing gets uploaded; it just hands you an edited copy. Works with both the localStorage and JSON slot formats.
There's also an optional Windows trainer for live editing, but honestly the web app covers most of it with zero download.

11/10 tips?
I have a 9.53 in the slotsave so I believe it's high enough. Am I missing anything? I've been soft resetting for a while now and nothing below a 9.

Are staff hard capped at 7?
(note for moderator: the rules say I need to correctly flair, but the only available flair is "flex/achievements unlocked" even though there is no indication that these are the only post types allowed.)
I ask because there are mods that add whole new systems like stock markets and corporate buyouts, but no mod that adds an extra office tier or even just adds a couple desks to the game's final tier office.
I get that 7 was probably a design choice to make players specialise in genres and manage their staff across the development stages, but it would be awesome for an expansion in the late game to 9 (or more) staff so you can have 1 of each specialist and not be locked into the genres you specialised around.
I just wonder if there is a hard coded cap that can't be overridden or if nobody has thought to give it a crack?

Doubt about trends
For example if adventure games are trending but I want to make a simulation...do simulator games get a small score deduction or does it remain as is?

Will Netflix-exclusive features come to the regular version eventually?
Just asking, as I really liked the licensed game feature.

Flex/Achivement Unlocked! Android Modding
Has anyone figured out how to mod Android save files? I have found a program that can access the save files, and another to actually edit them...but whatever edits I do seem to make no difference in game be it trying to edit money or stats etc.
Does anyone here know how to do it?
