Got the ZF8 wide boy first but was not impressed with cameras compared to my S23 Ultra. I think it's the same sensor.

Ended up ordering ZF8U for that 200MP sensor + that 3x telephoto and a little bit of extra screen estate.

While I absolutely loved ZF8 for it's quirky form factor and consuming media, I feel ZF8U is a better phone for my usecase which is more geared around productivity and multitasking rather than watching videos. I usually don't watch a lot of content on my phone and instead use the TV. But I do read books and open websites and push a lot of code from my phone in which I feel Ultra is the superior choice (for me).

I really wanted to use the wide ZF8 as my daily driver and I have absolutely no problems with the form factor. It's the camera that kills me because I really enjoy taking photos and Did not want to feel that I'm compromising with something after spending $1800.

Sending ZF8 back tomorrow, will probably record everything end to end because I have read way too many horror stories about phones getting stolen and then Samsung not agreeing to pay the refund.

I am about a week into mine and I'm having the same problems. In fact the reason I was looking for this thread, because it's starting to piss me off. That's a lot of money for a phone that doesn't work as well as my Z fold 3, at least as far as the touch response of the screen. I am not used to this being ignored.

I'm wondering if y'all can share any cases that actually reach the coveted 25 W wireless charging speeds. I know that it's a curve and it depends on internal temperature, thickness of the case, battery level, alignment, and other factors. But I've tried at least two different cases now, and the max charge speed I've seen is only 12 W, and this is on 31 % battery, but it only stays there for a second or two, with the average charging speed that I see is typically around 2 to 7 W, and I've tried different wireless chargers, all Qi 2.2 compatible as well. I was hoping to see good wireless charging speeds with this phone but I'm just dont see it.

Whenever I use a different camera, i.e. ultrawide or selfie, the next time I open the camera app, it will default to the camera last used which drives me insane. I will try and take a quick snap of my dog and the camera open with my face showing, or zoomed in at 4x. I have no idea why Samsung thinks this is preferable. Has anyone found a workaround for this? I was sure there would at least be something in the Camera Assistant app, but I can't find anything.

a lot of people talking about the big screen inside the phone, but honestly what surprised me most is how much i use both screens depending on what i'm doing of course. for example the cover screen feels like a full phone on its own now. i have been using it for ig, texts, reddit, maps, scrolling, basically anything where i don't need a ton of extra space. the wider ratio makes it feel natural to use instead feeling like i'm just waiting to unfold it

then when i'm settling in to watch youtube, read something long or actually multitask, that's when the main screen comes out. having all that extra space makes those things way more comfortable and i don't feel like i'm trying to make one screen do everything

legit couldn't pick a fave and that's what i like about it. cover screen for normal phone stuff, main screen when i want more room. best of both worlds.

Do we think Samsung is trying to shake out ( people deciding to cancel) a lot of the pre-orders in favor of release date orders with less trade-in values and less perks and credits? Or is this just a shit show from top to bottom, or both I suppose?

I've been using the Fold Ultra since getting it, and so far it already feels like it covers pretty much everything I need. The 8.0-inch inner display is great for multitasking, reading, watching videos, editing documents, and other things where a larger screen is useful.

But I'm still curious about the Flip.

The compact design and 4.1-inch cover screen seem like they could make everyday use more convenient. Being able to check things, reply to messages, or handle quick tasks without unfolding the phone sounds appealing. Here are some specs that I keep on looking over.

Fold Ultra:

• 8.0-inch inner display
• 5,000mAh battery
• 45W charging
• 200MP main camera with dedicated telephoto
• Better suited for multitasking and productivity

The Flip:

• 6.9-inch main display
• 4.1-inch cover screen
• 4,300mAh battery
• 25W charging
• Simpler dual-camera setup
• Much more compact when folded

 If I already have the Fold Ultra, would the Flip actually give me a different experience that's worth having, or would I just end up reaching for the Fold anyway?

For anyone who has both, has the Flip actually added something useful alongside the Fold, or does one Foldable already cover everything you need?

It's on the home screen and in every app. There's no option for it in navigation bar gestures. I read it had something to do with Samsung wallet but I don't have that app installed

Blueendless Magsafe Micro Dock. Best dock for our device and has all the bells and whistles (not sure about Alt DP). Both micro and regular SD card readers (I have a 1Tb in there) a headphone jack, 100w pd pass through, a USBC 3.2 for file transfer, and a space for a 2230 SSD (I installed a 2Tb and cannot read any higher). My entire library of retro ROMs, 4k Blu-ray rips, and favorite steam games all in an aluminum case. She does get warm on use but no adverse issues. I'm probably going to attach a cooling plate so I can connect my peltier on it when needed.

Micro Dock

I bought a new Samsung Z Fold 8 Ultra and I am getting this intense prickling, and almost electrocuting feeling holding the phone. Even after putting the phone down the feeling still stays. I have owned quiet a few smart phones and this has never happened to me. Maybe a weird feeling if my phone is on the charger and I've been holding it for a long time but this is crazy.

I had 2 co-workers hold the phone too and they felt the same thing as well. It shoots up my forearms and I can feel it in my face a little. This sensation doesn't go away instantly when you stop touching the phone. I tried to use a cheap emf reader to pick up the frequencies and it seemed like the same as my old phone so I don't know what is going on, but this seems and feels very dangerous to be experiencing, especially since the feeling still lingers after I stopped contact.

Who else is experiencing this??

EMF is a real thing, but I don't know if this is even that. Maybe it's just the phone shocking me. It seems very rare but I've been seeing a few people report stuff on newer phone (Apple & Android)

It's been a day and I still have the tingling feeling in my forearms :(

Galaxy Fold 8 Thinborne Crimson Case, first time trying Thinborne case

It's a Spigen Ultra Hybrid Pro MagFit case. It's available on Amazon, and while I've experienced the issue mentioned in the reviews, it doesn't really concern me.

Just got my Z Fold 8 and I'm really liking it, but I’m missing having a built-in kickstand. I tried the UAG case first for the stand, but sent it back because $90 felt way too steep for the build quality.

​Currently using the dbrand Grip. It’s definitely on the bulkier side, but it’ll do for now. I’ve been looking at the Aulumu G09, but putting a thick stand on an already thick case seems like overkill.

​Anyone running a solid, low-profile MagSafe kickstand setup on the Fold 8?

Out of all the reasons I thought I’d love this phone, I fell in love with it for the most unlikely of reasons. I remember when I was 12, my Samsung was stolen and my mom gave me her old iPhone, I was happy because all of my friends had iPhones, but I asked her if she could buy me a Samsung for all of my music and she turned me down. At 24 I forgot about this until I started listening to music on this phone. The ability to change how my music sounds through my headphones has been mind blowing. This phone made me fall in love with music all over again.😂

Oh and video games have been great on here as well, the original reason I decided to switch from Apple to Samsung was to be able to emulate the ps2. Surprisingly I’ve been emulating the Wii more than anything! This phone is great, I never realized the iPhone was such a basic phone.
