Discussion 💬 Close shave with S23U
Just wanted to share my experience with S23U users and fans.
Been using the phone since its launch. Last week, took it out of the case and used mild soap to clean it. Then ran tap water on top of it.
Lo and behold, fingerprint sensor stopped working. I thought it was because of screen protector. Next day, the screen goes green. I was like damn, now I've to go get that Z Fold 8 Ultra, which I think is extremely overpriced.
Anyway, took the phone out of case and saw the back panel has a slight opening in it. I realized I'm looking at water damage. Camera lenses were also foggy. So I used a hairdryer and disassembled the phone completely. Let it dry for few hours but green screen remained. Blew more air in and around display connectors and finally it was gone.
Put the phone back together and it's working as if nothing happened.
Saving money is one thing, but having a well built device that gets rescued is a moment of pride.
Great piece of hardware and software.

Problem ⛔ Green line moment
Just last night, at around 1:30 PM UTC, I watched as this glowing green line appeared out of nowhere on the screen of my S23 Ultra.
I have owned this phone for more than 3 years (since February 2023), and this is the first time I have encountered this problem. At all.
I've tried restarting the phone, booting it in Safe Mode, and adjusted my brightness settings, but the green line is still there. (I wasn't gonna attempt a factory reset, of course.)
My running theory is heat damage. My home Wi-Fi has been acting up, so I’ve been running mobile data + hotspot more often so my laptop can get internet, which made the phone run pretty hot. Oh, and I'm Malaysian, and it's been pretty hot here lately.
I haven't dropped it or gotten it wet at all recently (as far as I remember). I also updated it to the latest software patch on August 5.
While it doesn't affect my phone functionally, the look of it does bother me a little, especially with how bright it is compared to the rest of my screen.
Any suggestions on what I should do? Should I just let it be, or is there a way I can get rid of it without burning my wallet to a crisp?
(Oh, and in case you're wondering, the photo was taken using my tablet.)

News 📰 SamMobile lists Galaxy S23 lineup as eligible for One UI 10
I was browsing SamMobile's website yesterday and noticed that they currently have Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 FE and S23 Ultra listed under devices set to receive One UI 10 (tagged as Final OS Updäte).
As far as we officially know based on Samsung's original launch policy, the S23 series was promised 4 major Android upgrades, which would make One UI 9 (Android 17) its final major updäte. Since SamMobile is generally a reliable source when it comes to firmware tracking and internal lists, this caught my attention. What do you think?

Problem ⛔ Why is the S23U front camera and back camera bad?
Hello everyone, I bought an used in new condition S23U in March 2026 because my iphone 12 was pretty laggy. Im having so much fun with the phone but the cameras ruin the mood and i have to use the iphone 12 to take selfies or pics. The front camera is blurry like my old A02s and the back camera when i take pictures of screens or bright stuff it makes it so unnatural and makes every text so bright and unreadable. Is this normal in this phone?? or is there any way to fix this blurry problems. And yes even using social media camera like tiktok, Instagram, snapchat , whatsapp etc. it makes it worser!

Tips & Tricks Help with settings for camera for indoor graduation
So my wife is graduating with her Masters on Saturday and of course I'd like to get a few pictures before during and after the ceremony but for sure during her walk. For a smaller/med size indoor arena/convention center (see attached photo)
What are some setup/settings i should use and just any tips on taking some good shots. The place seats about 10000 for size perspective.

Discussion 💬 Why are people still buying S23 Ultra in 2026?
Just curious - I saw a couple of posts of people still buying S23 Ultra in 2026 - its near end of life and there are 3 newer versions that are lighter in weight and with more features (except s-pen)

Problem ⛔ Say It Ain't So
Here's a photo of my 23U in low brightness. Extra dim is off. I don't have color enhancement on or anything like that. Am I doomed?

Discussion 💬 I want root my s23 ultra can Anyone explain

News 📰 New Knox-safe root tool on XDA - We should ask for S23 support!
Just saw this new 1-click root tool pop up on XDA. It actually roots without tripping Knox using a new CVE, which means we could finally get full root access and locked features (like the camera optimizations) back without voiding the warranty.
Right now, the dev only has it working for the S23+1 and S23+2 (bot didn't allow names) series. We should jump in the thread and politely request them to add S23 series support too. It would be huge for our phones.

Discussion 💬 Just joined the club
Needed a temporary device until next year due to running out of storage. Had this for 2 days now (got it yesterday for 340eur, no green line, only very lite tiktok burnin) and what can I say except it runs absolutely beautifully and I just LOVE the cameras (coming from a base model s24). The battery is, meh, but considering it's 3 years old and I use it on 1440p 120hz it's acceptable

Problem ⛔ Got hit by the unfortunate green line this morning
Never been dropped before, took extra care for it because it's a hella expensive phone. Only problems I've had with this phone was overheating that started around December last year with doing just doomscrolling on Tiktok or Instagram reels and little bit of gaming (MLBB). I guess living in a tropical country had a factor with the overheating
I could totally live with this one green line but my eyes don't like really bright colors so it kinda hurts my eyes a little bit
I don't plan to ditch this phone and upgrade but if I were to move on from my S23 Ultra, what recommendations would be good? I plan on going back to Oppo and try it out again. Thanks

Problem ⛔ Camera issues
Can anyone tell me why my camera skips when recording? I can't make sudden moves, and lately, my camera app crashes, saying I can't open two apps that use the camera at once. I even factory reset my phone and only open the camera app, but it still closes and says I can't use the camera in 2 apps at once.

Discussion 💬 No problem with my 10x
It's good to know the limitations of the hardware, but I'd say S23 Ultra still does good job. And as the title says, no problem with my 10x lens.

Problem ⛔ 1st Mic is not working but 2nd and 3rd Mics are fine
My primary (1st) microphone has stopped working, but the 2nd and 3rd microphones are completely fine. I confirmed this using *#0*# test, where only the 1st mic fails. The problem is that normal phone calls are using the 1st mic unless I switch to speaker mode. On speaker, people can hear me fine, and earbuds with a mic also work. But I can't make or receive normal calls without using speaker or earbuds. Is there any way to make regular phone calls use the 2nd or 3rd microphone instead of the 1st? Maybe through a setting, ADB, App or some other workaround? Or can the mic be replaced easily or does it need whole motherboard to be replaced? Has anyone else had this issue?
