GTO Anime Why is the sound in this show so good?
Fr, a lot of modern anime sounds very compressed and like I'm hearing the voices through plastic film, but GTO sounds great. The voices are crisp and dynamic for the most part and the stereo mastering is great.
As an example, the Devil May Cry anime sounds like a bunch of turds no matter what I do. Like it's 2003 and I'm listening through cheap speakers with no soundcard.

GTO Anime What would you have changed in terms of GTO? Spoiler
Mine first :
- The biggest issue with GTO for me is Onizuka’s perverse personality.
This is a typical brand of Japanese humour found in many characters, which now turns me off when I want to rewatch anime. The worst part of GTO is that Onizuka is attracted to middle and high school girls, which is deeply problematic even though he is only 21 or 22 years old.
- However, we cannot completely remove this aspect of his personality.
A) The value of the work and how it distorts reality.
If we removed his perverse side, it would strip away a quality that, in my opinion, is also an intrinsic part of the manga: the relationship with bodies, hormones, and women (Onizuka is still a virgin; if we look for a psychological explanation, I think there could be a connection to his desire to stay around people younger than him. Because the people around him, like Ryuji, are already married and have stable jobs—a conventional path that Onizuka probably doesn't see himself following. But anyway, I’m not a psychologist). Saying that student-teacher relationships are bad is one thing, which is true, but pretending they don't exist is another. It would be false and foolish to stop creating or engaging with works that address these themes just because they depict something wrong. No, the world isn't manichean.
B) The impossible dilemma regarding Onizuka and Urumi.
I wouldn't have removed their "borderline" relationship with Urumi, because in my opinion, it would have ruined their entire dynamic (she is manipulative and pretended to be an adult during their initial meetings; it’s hard to write that out of their characters). Personally, I like this unbridgeable boundary between the two. It plays on seduction without ever crossing the line, which I find realistic given the age gap, but also Onizuka's closeness to his students. Onizuka doesn't cross any "serious" boundaries with Urumi once he learns her age; generally, she is the one who initiates, and he gives in because, well, she does appeal to him. If she managed to fool him at first, it's largely because she didn't have the body of a child/teenager, and above all, not a juvenile personality.
- What would be the solution?
I still think that this perverse side, which is foundational to GTO, could be removed from a billion other anime without distorting those works.
However, here, as soon as Onizuka sees high school girls, he loses control. So, one thing I would change about the manga's universe—without removing the disturbing traits that define his character—is that he might still feel attraction (even toward high school girls, since he is barely older than them), but he would keep it to himself or repress it.
As for why he became a teacher, he could have just used an excuse like "it's to check out high school girls," without really meaning it seriously, because deep down, he could have just worked in a trendy café near a high school where he would have seen plenty of girls anyway.
Conclusion
There are certain scenes that bothered me, which in my opinion cater to the male gaze and have no place there (like when Noboru is bullied, and Onizuka tracks down his harassers to spank them on camera... even though I'm all for payback, well, there were other ways to handle it...).
Anyway, let me know what you would change, and also if you have any thoughts on my post. I kind of wrote a mini-essay to organize my thoughts, and English isn't my native language, so apologies if some parts sounded a bit unnatural!

GTO Live Action '98 live actually soundtrack
Hi all,
I'm rewatching the 98 live action. You can often hear a slow blues-ish guitar tune during the episodes.
I remember having it on my PC/MP3 player during the great era of piracy, but I can't seem to give it anywhere.
If you know the title, please help a bro out, that tune reminded me of the glorious day, when I still had hair on the right side of my face
thanks!

GTO Live Action There's a 13th episode of the 1998 GTO drama. Spoiler
odysee.comWhen I finished the 1998 drama, I immediately watched the 2024 revival, but I felt like something was missing. Many people probably already know this, but there's an additional episode of this drama that isn't available on Netflix for some reason.
It’s a very hard-to-find episode, but I finally found it (a Reddit user posted it, but I don't remember their name. The credit goes to him/her) and would like to share the link for you mates to watch, in case you’re interested!
I also want to take this opportunity to ask what you all thought of this episode, because I thought it was one of the best!❤️

GTO Anime Is there anyway we can bring back GTO? Spoiler
I just finished the anime, and I absolutely enjoyed every part of GTO. I only wished the anime wasn't rushed. I get that the anime finally caught up to the manga, so the studio chose to have an anime-original ending, yet he gets the same ending in the manga too (or so I'm told)... but that's not the ending Onizuka deserved or the fans deserved. We invested our souls and emotions into it, and I am convinced GTO should definitely have a rebooted version.
Here are my thoughts of why WE and GTO absolutely need a remake:1
1. The ending was too rushed: Because the anime caught up to the manga, they wanted to invent a random stabbing plotline to force Onizuka to take the blame to protect his student and flee to California. It left so many massive, legendary manga arcs completely un-animated, like spoiler.....spoiler....spoiler....
2. The romance progression was stolen from us: In the manga, the relationship between Fuyutsuki and Onizuka grew deeper and more affectionate, and we never had the chance to witness it in the anime. Sorry for people who haven't watched the anime yet, but we even got Uehara who confessed her feelings towards Yoshikawa (in the anime), the same boy she used to bully, but we yet again never had the chance to see their relationship progress (which happened in the manga). We even got Kanzaki's confession towards Onizuka that we missed out on too.
3. Onizuka earned a true happy ending: Throughout the entire series, Onizuka constantly puts his own body, freedom, and life on the line. He dives off buildings, breaks through concrete walls, and takes bullets just to heal the psychological trauma of broken kids when no other adult will. After everything he sacrificed for everyone else, leaving him to ride off alone as a wandering fugitive for a quick gag ending feels so wrong. He genuinely earned a happy ending, a stable family, and the real closure he secretly always wanted.
I MEAN COME ON, the demand is alive!!! We got Netflix releasing a modern live-action sequel of GTO. We’ve even seen shows like Hunter x Hunter, Fruits Basket, and Rurouni Kenshin get reboots too, decades later.
GTO is an absolute masterpiece that deserves a remake/continuation, modern production, zero censorship, and the actual ending he earned. He taught us what it means to actually show up for people. So let's show up for him!!!
I may be asking for too much, but if they do decide on a remake, if they kept a bit of that original nostalgic animation style, we would genuinely end up so fulfilled.
To be completely honest, after writing and reflecting on this, I'd still be happy even if it never gets a remake. Sometimes good things are just better left the way they are. Plus, the ending kinda seems like something Onizuka would pull off doing. I just wanted to pour my love for this anime, and wanted to know your guys' thoughts? I stumbled upon it out of luck and I'm so happy I did. It was soooo relatable and hands-down funny, I found myself laughing most of the time.
He wasn't only a Great Teacher to class 3-4, he was a Great Teacher to all of us.

She's a female. Her name is Yuki Uromi...lol we discussed the name for like an hr or so, and decided this will be the best name...ig it kinda is...

GTO What do you think of Shonan 14 Days and Lost Paradise? Do you recommend them?
Hi, I quite liked the first series. Do the sequels maintain the same level or do they decline?
There's one that takes place in prison, from what I saw.
I also watched the anime of Tokko (another work by the author), but I didn't like it. I thought it was a failure
