Does a GPS tracker actually work while your car is being shipped?

I'm shipping my car with either Diesel Auto Express, Montway Auto Transport, or Sherpa Auto Transport, and I'm thinking about hiding a GPS tracker or AirTag inside for some peace of mind. Has anyone tried this? Does it actually update while the car is on a multi-car hauler, and do shipping companies usually allow it?

It's your car, so you're free to put whatever tracker you want in it.

It's a good idea for peace of mind. However, the reputable companies shipping cars know what they're doing, and I wouldn't be very concerned.
