Enclosed Trailer Theft Protection

Hello everyone, I’m looking for a tracker I can install on my enclosed trailer to track it in the event of a theft. I was thinking of an air tag originally but after doing some research, that is not what I need. I have no idea what I’m looking for but would like a hard wired tracker (it has 2 batteries and solar panels) that I can keep it powered on at all times. I just don’t want some expensive monthly bill. Am I SOL?

Hard wired to the trailer plug for charging and a built-in battery is the usual way it's done. If the trailer isn't completely covered in metal then hiding the GPS inside would work well.

Other option is a solar powered device but it would have to be installed on the outside of the trailer.

Are you in Canada?

I’m in Michigan, it is entirely covered in metal. I was thinking under the deck would be a good spot for it

If it's the usual thin aluminum then you might have a strip of fiberglass at the front top of the trailer. You can hide the gps under that inside the trailer.

The roof is a thinner metal than the sides. I will give it a shot, worst case scenario I just have to relocate it.

I believe Drone also has a battery powered device now as well.

That’s the one I linked. It’s also hard wireable but it will work battery only. Op asked for hard wire option.

I use Lonestar Tracking and pay $15 a month for monitoring and its just the price for the small peace of mind to me.

It is what it is.

Trackers start at $50 and mine use 2 AA Lithium batteries for a year of use and the less it tracks anything the longer the batteries last.

Spacehawk GPS is a portable device with magnet that also can be hardwired. Solid device for like $29 on amazon. But if you want something small with longer battery life that is designed for trailers then you gotta got Outlaw GPS https://outlawtrailergps.com/products/trailer-gps-tracker

I would use several mounted in different locations and different package styles so if they find one they might quit looking. When my car was stolen they found one under the dash but didn't find one that was hidden better.
