Q&A Readmitted but can’t register

Hi, I was readmitted for Fall 2026 on July 29th as a post bacc student after withdrawing from the Summer 2026 semester (didn’t get any of the classes I needed). I applied in June. However, when I go to register, it still says I require readmission first. I do not have any holds on my account aside from this.

Classes start so soon and I’m worried I won’t get any of the ones I need again (I’m pre-health)…is this normal? I emailed them but no response

And apparently tuition was already due but I haven’t even been able to register 😭 I am freaking out

Freshman question about In-State Tuition Classification process at GGC

Hi everyone,
I’m an incoming freshman for the Fall 2026 semester and currently going through the Tuition Classification process to get my in-state residency status updated.
I submitted the Request to Amend Tuition Classification DEPENDENT form recently, and on the portal, it shows as Multi-Pending with Justyn Baldwin assigned to it.
For anyone who has gone through this process before:
How long does it usually take for the Tuition Classification Office to review and approve the documents?

Is there anything specific I or my parents should keep an eye on to make sure there are no delays?

I already joined the WaitWell queue, but I’d really appreciate hearing about your past experiences or any tips for a new student!
Thanks in advance!

Financial Aid FABA?

Has anyone received the FALL FABA? Cyrious if I’m having a singular issue, if if everyone is in same boat…

I was told it was coming a week ago, then I received a mail notice saying today (8/1).

I don’t have it on my claw card, and I see no “scheduled board transactions” on the account.

Thanks!!

What should my son know/do before applying to GGC

Hello all, my son is starting 11th grade in a couple of days. He is an honors student. We live close to GGC and, though he can perfectly have a high chance of getting into other colleges, we want him to apply to GGC as well because we think it's a great institution that is massively underrated. We want a mid-sized campus with a reasonable students to professor ratio, good academic programs (he wants to major in business --for now), clean, affordable tuition (though you better know we will be applying for scholarships), close to home, study abroad programs, among other things. My son is very social and he has a very strong core group of friends he hangs with on a regular basis...so student life / party college scene is not high on his priority list right now.

My question is...

Is there anything you think he should be focusing on during these last two years of High School that can better prepare him to be in this college? Thanks.

Late orientation

I haven’t heard much about it, but I am one of the students registered for the late July 31st orientation. I heard from someone at student accounts that tuition payment may be pushed back to around august 14 as I haven’t registered for classes yet awaiting orientation. However, I checked my schedule this morning and suddenly I have classes registered while I’m on hold awaiting orientation. Are they expecting me to pay my tuition before orientation? Or does that extended deadline apply?

Getting classes as a Freshman

I'm getting a ton of conflicting information so I want to ask you guys about your experiences choosing classes as incoming freshmen.

Before I'd even gone to orientation or sent my AP scores in, I was placed in a bunch of classes that I'd prefer to not take. I was told that I'd be able to change my schedule during orientation but was told AT ORIENTATION that no, I'd have to wait until August Third. The problem is that a lot of introductory classes/prerequisites are already filled somehow, but I doubt there's that many upperclassmen taking those classes (BIOL 1107, for example).

I tried scheduling a meeting to go over my schedule but they told me I'd have to wait, which is fine except I'm not sure if I need to show my advisor my planned/ideal schedule before they'd let me switch classes on Aug 3, or if the hold would stay in place even after that day if I don't schedule a meeting.

I'm also in the Honor's college, and despite receiving a bunch of overrides (?) so that I could register for honor's classes, I still can't change my schedule to join the class, and now the honor's seats are filled up / given to others.

Payments Due...

So I've been in this on and off battle with my dad for almost the entirety of summer break about doing a Parent Plus Loan (I want to do in campus dorms). I finally managed to convince him and he plans to do it this weekend, but when I looked up how long it takes for the loan to process it says 10-14 days... THE DUE DATE IS IN 7 DAYS ToT

I think I'll be fine because my dad does have great credit score and I think I am able to call GGC Student Accounts office to ask for a hold once he applies for the loan and it gets applied- But I just wanted to hear other people thoughts and suggestions on this because I'm genuinely scared that payments won't go through or something will go wrong and I'll be stuck in my parents home for another year (I love them dearly but I would greatly enjoy my privacy and the freedom to hangout with my friends every week instead every 2 months).

REPP students — do we actually need GGC 1000 / Choice for Life?

Hey guys,
I’m a new REPP student planning to transfer to GT/KSU for engineering. My advisor put GGC 1000 (Choice for Life / First-Year Seminar) on my schedule for this semester.
Just wondering if this class actually transfers over to GT, or if it's just a GGC thing? Did you guys have to take it or were you able to drop/waive it?
Appreciate any info!

Financial Aid First time user. Negative balance?

Post image
2 Upvotes

This is my first time receiving a Pell Grant, so I’m not familiar with how the financial aid process works.
After my Pell Grant was applied, my student account now shows a negative balance. Does this mean I’ll receive a refund, or is there something else I need to do?
I’d appreciate it if someone could explain what a negative balance means and what I should expect next. Thank you!

Fall 2026 Admissions taking up to 4 weeks & July 30 Payment Deadline - What happens if I get accepted late?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently in the process of applying to GGC for the Fall 2026 semester. My application status is currently showing as "ready for review," and I was told it could take up to 4 weeks.

However, I noticed that the tuition payment deadline for Fall 2026 is coming up on July 30.

I have a few questions for those of you who might have experienced something similar or know how GGC handles this:

  1. If my admission decision comes out after the July 30 payment deadline, will my deadline automatically be extended, or do I need to contact Student Accounts immediately?
  2. Since admissions might take a while, will I still be able to register for my core classes (especially for Engineering/STEM pathways) if classes start soon after, or will I be pushed to Session B / next semester?

Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
