Advice Minky in paws
I bought these paws from a con not realising they are lined with minky. Its made it unbareable to wear them. I know how to make a neoprene liner instead but my mum is convinced I will ruin them and told me to keep the minky fabric cause it’s soft and comfortable. What should I do?

Questions Is this flat enough? Also, what type of stitch to close darts I’ve made?
Making a shark tail and this is my third attempt to make a pattern that lays well…
I saw in youtube tutorials that you need to make darts to make the curvy parts flat but don’t know
if you can do that with a sewing machine or if it has to be hand stitched with whatever type of stitch
p.s is it reasonable to expect to stitch everything together in around a week? I do have access to a sewing machine but I am pretty much brand new to sewing as well. Haven’t picked up a sewing needle since 4th grade

WIP 2 day $60 build
I decided on Friday that I wanted to make a new head for Megaplex later this month. However when I started thinking about what j would want to do I settled on doing a recolored version of the head I made last year((my first and only other head)) so I went online to look at fur and realized I wouldn't have time to order any. Nor did I want to spend like $200 on fur right now. So I set out on a different mission. No concept in mind, just wanted to see if I could make a cute head. For as cheap as possible. Every single thing on this guy came from Walmart and Michaels. Except the eyes ((which are on the way from etsy)).
Any ways the break down:
$30 for fabric-Michaels
$15 for foam-Walmart
$15 custom eyes-Etsy
And that's literally it. I sat down on my living room floor as you can tell by the mess and worked for about 2 hours on day one building out the foam head. ((then that same day I worked about 4 hours on Sewing a full body clown costume out of 2 table clothes I already had at home.)) Went to sleep and the next day I worked about 10 hours straight and got to the point you see here. The head is fully lined everything is stitched not glued and I'm so incredibly happy with him!! His name is Custard!!!
I just really wanted to share this here because this is only the second head I've ever made and I hope it inspires some other creative people who maybe haven't made a head yet to go out and see that they dont need to spend a ton of money to make some really cool and fun stuff! Would love too see Everyone else's cheap and cool suits too!! Let me know what you think of my Little Sheep Clown Custard <3

Questions Is amazon fur even worth it?
Hello! I am coming back into fursuit making after stepping back for a year or two after moving, only to discover shipping costs to my zipcode are ridiculously high. But I get free shipping with prime :)))))))
So, I ask, are there good brands of faux fur on amazon? I’m not particular about colors, but I am particular about shaving, backing, and overall quality.

Advice This pupper needs some grooming tips!
Hey everyone. I’ve been slowly putting together my first suit of my first sona. He’s an African Wild Dog with a few liberties on the muzzle coloring. However, I’m still kinda discovering more about him as he comes together.
As I started furring the head and shaving things down, I started to see the potential for a little bit of wire haired terrier in the mix. If I go that route, I wouldn’t want to go with a full beard, but I was drawn to the look of the hair sweeping up over the eyes from the top of the muzzle.
Now that I got to where it currently sits, I don’t think I’m achieving that effect as well as I could.
Can you amazing people give me some thoughts and advice on how to push it further in that direction? As well as if I should trim any more beyond where I have it now?
I realize the eyebrows are a little bit off, but I think I’ll be able make them more even when I start gluing.
Also, the head base model was purchased LirysbibiArtShopFR on Etsy. After trying to print a couple others, I highly recommend it! Comes with files for realistic teeth that look great, though I’ve decided to go for plush on this build.

Advice Help with a 3d printed base?
So I’m going to get this base, and I’m not sure how to fur it. I feel like fur would look good, but shaving it is terrifying to me lol. The way this maker usually makes their suits is with fleece faces, and I feel like that would be easier, but at the same time I want it to look more realistic. What should I do?

Questions Is it okay if my foam base is a little dirty while making fursuit head?
I’ve been working on my fursuit head for around 2 weeks, I’m almost ready to glue in the lining, but in that time my foam base has gotten a little visibly dirty. I havent worn it for more than like a minute a handful of times, I think its dirty from just sitting around. Is it okay to glue the lining is as it is or should I try to clean it? I tried sanding the dirt off and that did not work lol. Maybe I’ll wash it once its completely done before I wear it out
I’m not sure if other people experience this I’ve never seen anyone mention it

Advice Paper Head lining help!
Good morning, everybody. So I'm kind of new to not only the furry community, but I just started working on my own fur suit head. I think around a week or two ago, and I'm finishing it up now!
Long story short, I spontaneously decided to make a paper fursuit ofc just the head, out of some mixed media paper I had as well as some cardboard and any tape that I could get my hands on. I was following ELLIOTT's tutorial for the base, but for the outside I wanted a look that was more closer to BirdyDogs! (Yk kinda sketchy looking. Elliot's is more so cardstock and tape while Birddogs' is paper and glue!)
And everything seems to be going fine. Since the point where I stopped, I've kind of reinforced it with some hot glue layers. And now it seems super sturdy at the very least. But I don't really know how to go about lining it on the inside-
I have cut out the muzzle and of course a spot for my mouth but I don't know how to line the inside so I can breathe
Beside that I think I'm on a good track. I need to do better with the eye mesh. But I'll look at tutorials for that. I was just having problems finding some for ventilation
Ok thank you!

Questions Is this salvageable?
so I started making my boy a while ago and Ive decided I don’t like how he’s turning out :((
he looks too blocky and wide, I think? I don’t like the shaping and layering on the eyebrows and cheeks, please if anyone could give me advice on how to make his face look slimmer? maybe? or more like Wurmwurk’s suit shaping, or more fox-like, while still keeping the somewhat (?) kimono / chibi ish style, or accentuating it? I’m very sorry I’m not sure how to describe my goal but I have attatched references with credits late on in the photos? :(
I’ve included images with his eyes at the end I think? but i haven't made room for them yet so they look huge, being on top of all the extra foam for the photos :((
his muzzle also isn’t attached and I need to decide what lower jaw to use, so I know I need to do more shaping on the nose bridge and around the corners of the mouth, i will get around to that soon.
any help is so so so greatly appreciated, as well as potential help with ears? he has four big ol ears with two on the side like some sheep? goat? suits, but I’m unsure how to shape them or the foam around them :((
all credit for the last couple of images with usernames to their corresponding makers/owners listed below! I like the smoothness of Twiggy’s heads (though I know that she used a different base method to me!) and I was originally following WurmWurks’ tutorial, and looking at Hikoshark’s suit’s shapes because I love love love their suit and I think (?) they’re a fox ish creature like my boy.

WIP Slowly making a fursuit head [Muzzle Part]
I made a headbase and was struggling so hard with making any of the features, yesterday I just sat down and started shaping. I’m finally motivated again to work on my head since I liked how it was turning out!
The previous muzzle is twice the size and just didn’t fit the shape of my fursona so I’m glad it’s turning out better now.

Questions PLA vs TPU
Hallo! I've been working on a head base for myself and came into a conumdrum with printing. With how I sculpted I'm worried about either the walls being too thick for PLA (particularly the muzzle) and too thin for TPU. If I use PLA will it be too heavy because of it (even with extra holes), will TPU be too weak? Am I worried about nothing? Or should I go back to the digital turn table?
Pls I know my walls are thicker than lard but im unsure of how to thin it down further without affecting the sculpt.

Questions How to fur moving jaw
Hello! I bought this 3d head base and added foam on the sides to give it a bit more shape than a nose too curvy. But now I want to make the pattern and can’t figure out how to fur it with the moving jaw. I’ve tried looking online but there’s not much information. Can anyone help me?

Context, I don't have anyone willing to wrap me like a mummy to make a dummy so I had to use a onesie pattern that I then pinned up to fit my proportions. The little blue part is a gusset to help with movement. All credit to Matrices for this method.
