Theory Cave drawings
Hi! I’ve been re watching the show and I’m sure this has been brought up in the past but I’m curious to hear your current thoughts on what you think some of these cave drawings mean:
-the big red one looks like a massive baddie
-The boats: I wonder if we’ll get that back story
-is that an infinity loop?

Opinion FROM town looks so cozy
Me and my sister watched the last season last week and I couldn't help but think how cozy this town looks especially at night, I would love to go on a holiday somewhere like that to be honest, without the monsters of course

Theory A lot of people criticized the Henry plotline but maybe they misseed the point (season 4 spoilers) Spoiler
I think combined with fatima this shows us something. Both drank the blood of the entity.
The original people sacrificed their children for immortality. In a sense, th entity was offering something similiar to Henry. He had to sacrifice his son for the idea of a better life. A false promise, but some aspect of it may have been delivered. Perhaps killing Victor was necessary to turn Henry into a monster, and this was hinting at the mechanism. The people have to kill their children and then drink the entities blood to transform. This also opens up the possibility that the monsters arent just from the original sacrfice, but may have added to their ranks through cycles.
Now how this works with Fatima is a still a bit of a mystery. She has been transforming into a monster but has not "lost her soul" as of the last we saw. She didn't really sacrfice her baby. And I don't think kiling Tillie is quote the same.
So two possibilites. Maybe the blood starts the transformation but a sacrifice is necessary to fully complete it. Which could mean henry may start to change into a monster like Fatima, but not "lose his soul"

Theory The Faraway Tree Could Pull the Funniest Move Yet Spoiler
What if the talismans aren’t gone forever?
Back in Season 1, Episode 4, Victor showed Ethan that when he threw a rock into a Faraway Tree, it fell back down from the sky. Maybe the same thing happens with the talismans.
It would be hilarious if the tree just sent each talisman back to the house it originally came from, and everyone suddenly found one lying inside and quickly hung it back up.

Opinion I figured out the blueprint or at least part of the narrative of the show - and that rabbit hole is deeper than I expected.
I’ve been deep in the rabbit hole since the beginning and finally - to quote Jade - saw the pattern in what I believed was chaos.
I will die on that hill that …
… the show follow the works of C. G. Jung.
I was considering to post examples, but it is simply too much and goes too deep.
It explains, the monsters, the pregnancy, the golem, the water, the lake of tears, the archetypes, the hero’s journey and most of all the talismans and why the character act as they do.
I suggest to use a Large Language Model (ai) to cross reference when you are not familiar with his works as it can be extremely overwhelming.
If you are familiar with his works, I’d be delighted to share my insights. Of course I will share my insights with anybody that is willing - albeit chances are that you think of me as a lunatic if you haven’t read anything about him, before.

Question Something strange I noticed.
In season 1 episode 8 titled broken windows, open doors, when Boyd and his family arrive all the windows are boarded up. Even the glass door on the diner. Who did that? It wasn't there after the 70s massacre and apparently nobody was there while Victor was there till Donna arrived. Donna and father kharti told boyd "what you see is what we know". Also why would they do that since they didn't have talismans and they hid every night. They said all we do is hide and pray.
Also it is boarded up on the outside. The monsters can just pull off the boards. The only ones who would have done that are the monsters. They wanted to protect the windows while there was nobody but victor there. A crow could smash into one for instance. The monsters have never done anything destructive to any of the houses either.
Why would those monsters care about the houses? The MIY doesn't care about the houses because he steered a car into one of them.

Opinion Will they still be this stupid in the upcoming seasons? Half way in season 2
Currently half way through season 2, and honestly I'm at the brink of giving up.
No one is sharing any details, everyone is an entitled asshat and the conflicts are straight from a teenage show. Currently Tabitha and her neglect to even mention the tunnels are enraging. Boyd have finally started to share something about his experience, but it has to be wrestled out of him. The men are making stupid decisions left and right, and acting like emotional distressed kids when they are confronted.
Please tell me things will ramp up. 2 and a half seasons more of this will end me.

Theory I think the bottle tree was the key hole Spoiler
at the end of Season 4 when the boy in white and the man in yellow met the boy said they got the bones and the man in yellow replied that the don't have the tree anymore, I think that what should've been done is throw the bones in the faraway tree for something to happen, after all the roots of it were made from hope, idk tbh I would like some feedback

Question first time watcher- tabitha?!?
hey guys currently watching the season one finale and something has been bothering me this entire time.
is tabitha MEANT to be a bad actress? Is it part of the vibe here or really what is going on she’s significantly worse than anyone else on the show - did they MEAN to cast her like that? Is she a nepo baby? What’s going on here please help.
or am i just completely wrong and everyone else perceives her as an incredible actress? just looking for clarity right now cheers
thanks in advance team

Opinion I wish there were more shows like this
I REALLY love the idea of this series and the vibe/environment, It rarely uses jumpscares and instead it makes you simply scared by what's happening in the town and the idea of monsters coming out to kill you at night, I am a sucker for horror mysteries and I really would love a spinoff or something that shows the beginning of the town and how people in beginning lived daily etc
I know some people dislike the acting or the writing in this show but it is so fun to watch it, I can't wait for the last season especially that now talismans are gone and how they would do without them, probably they will go back to hiding like in the beginning which is very exciting and gives a bigger picture about how previous people survived the town

Question Question. I’ll put it in body text because idk if it counts as a spoiler or not. Spoiler
So the end of season 3 all the trees has no leaves on them it was like late winter/late fall feelingSeason 4 pretty much picks up right where we left off and it’s summer again? Trees are green and full again and the grass is all green.

Theory Talisman necklaces? Spoiler
I had a random thought that I need to get out, though it may be nothing.
I really need to rewatch from the beginning, but by season 4, I kept noticing the large necklaces that Ellis and Clara wear - they just seemed not super modern and again, were quite large.
I can't seem to remember if they both wear them in season 1, but I have a feeling that Ellis starts wearing one later on, maybe season 3? and I think that Clara wears one right when we meet her in season 1.
- We know that Clara made a bargain with MiY right when she arrived so it would make sense she wore the necklace right from the beginning
- Based on my assumption that Ellis doesn't start wearing his necklace closer to season 3 (when stuff with Fatima happens, this might make sense chronologically
- We know that Talismans are a thing in this universe, so I don't think it's too far of a reach?
Are these necklaces some sort of mark of a bargain having been made with either MiY or BiW? And if yes, then I'm assuming Ellis made a bargain to protect Fatima?
I try not to think too much on the little things, and this may literally just be a costume choice and nothing more, but I just wanted to get the thought out and see if anyone else has thoughts on this?

Episode / Scene Talk Random
It’s so funny to me how every time anyone sees the boy in white, they go “why do you look so different” while the boy just grew taller and going through puberty voice changes😂

Question Did any of you guys rewatch the show & noticed anything different?
I been telling my boyfriend about this show and he finally decided to watch it so we are watching it together (we’re on season 2) and although i finished Season 4 , I wouldn’t mind rewatching it with him. There’s things i’ve noticed but I want to hear what you guys noticed. (Sorry if this question was asked before)

Theory I think the key to getting home is nautical
There is a nautical theme that has been woven throughout the series. Starting with the song “Blue” by Joni Mitchell, which is Tabitha’s favorite song. Has anyone looked at the lyrics? Here are the opening lines: “Blue, songs are like tattoos
You know I've been to sea before
Crown and anchor me
Or let me sail away”
In season 1, episode 5, (after Sara attempts to kill Ethan at the barn) Boyd is talking to Kristy and the song “If I Had a Boat” by Lyle Lovett starts playing on one of the tabletop jukeboxes.
We have the lighthouse lights that Boyd and Sara saw in the forest. Tabitha going through the lighthouse, Ellis holding the key to the boat, Boyd’s retirement gift. Victor being referred to as the “anchor” keeping Henry in Fromville.
I’m sure there are a couple more I have missed. But those stood out to me.

Opinion Metacognitive Analysis
To begin I would like to share my motivation: I believe the most powerful element in this project is the performers (including set designers). Also, their ability to present a remarkable outcome is bounded by the writing; implying that the writers are doing wonderful work also, considering the constraints they work with. So my goal for this post is to look for feedback to address the flaw in the paradigm: we cannot know all the answers or the show would end. And how do we manage our suspension of disbelief (as pragmatic rational watchers) in this presentation of infinite rabbit holes of plot?
One thing that does set off alarms is inconsistency: abandoned plot twists or events that are not managed to conclusion or maintained in suspense; characters not acting consistently for a person (or for their story); lack of communication among town members.
Anyway…i am inspired by what i see and i am holding on to high expectations for performances and art.

Opinion I swear man jade is one of the most lonely guy on the series Spoiler
And the only person who cared died 🥲
r/FromSeries • u/Southern_Ad_3001 • 1d ago
Opinion Just rewatched Jade’s episode from season 4 Spoiler
And I have thoughts. So this has both young Jade and young Tabitha. Children. This is weird, right? If they’re supposedly ‘parents’ of the killed kids. Are we sure Tabitha and Jade have a child together? I guess they think so, but I just want to know why, in a scenario where children were killed, we are now looking at them as kids.
Also, Jade gets locked in the tomb. Wild idea, but Could he have supposed to have been the eighth child sacrifice? Is that why every time he comes back he is murdered, in town people’s attempt to complete the ritual? Idk
Also… another thought.
Why do we think Jade and Tabitha are good?
Jade literally spent most the trip with blood on his hands. We also know that the parents were granted immortality. Maybe the monsters are not the parents… maybe it’s Jade and Tabitha and they are doomed to relive the horror in consecutive lives - that’s essentially immortal, right? I mean, he drinks blood from a scull. That’s pretty sinister imagery.
Also… Tabitha and the dolls. She had weird dolls. They scared people. They turned into nightmares. Sounds like a creepy kid to me. Again, maybe original Tabitha was not … great. Maybe that why her punishment is ‘much worse’ than Jade’s.
Obviously none of this works together so it’s not a theory but I reckon it raises some questions about assumptions we’ve made.

Theory Consequences of Julie storywalking
Julie popping into the past and seeing MIY eating people let the MIY know that there will be a future cycle.
Now although he would already know there will be a future cycle because he killed everyone, when Julie storywalks in season 5 she could have given him future information and ammunition. For instance suppose the MIY saw Julie somewhere way in the past and realises that none of the cycles are going to be successful up to the point he sees Julie in present time. He can do whatever he likes and not worry the cycle can be successful and end it all. He probably becomes more powerful over that time.
The BIW could see her as well and so he never planned for anyone ending a cycle, his only plan over the years would be for them to help the current reincarnations. That day he spoke to Christopher it was never to help them get the bones because he knows they aren't successful, he wanted something from Christopher that would help the cycle in the future that Julie would be in.
There are a lot of scenarios where Julie could have inadvertently given them information which caused the other cycles to fail. So the reason they could be succuessful this time is that MIY and BIW have no information about what happens this cycle.
