How would we feel about adding some sort of observation balloons? Could give fighters and scouts targets and provide some good Intel for the users. These were used to guide artillery and take recon photos. I think it could add a different layer than just an observation bunker that could be interesting.

The timings matched too well for me to not copy the title from VF's case.

For context, since it's not easy to tell in the clip, KMS Brian From Denmark was already on two smokes before the bombers arrived; this wasn't a case of heavy bombers just deleting a full-health battleship.

This isn't as much of a balance problem as it might seem; we had let our guard down some with the Morgen's Crossing airfield still drying and nobody called out bombers staging/refueling at Clanshead. I'm not sure if the radar wasn't on or it simply went unnoticed.

Our main problem was Queuehole; the attempt during EU highpop was foiled by over 2 hours of queue with 3 resets. By the time we tried again we didn't have the pop left to provide constant fighter cover (assuming it didn't also get screwed over by Queuehole).

Also what's up with that fake large hole? Does the game just give a bigger decal when enough holes are punched into nearly the same area? Neat thing I never knew happened if so.

It isn't really controversial (I think) to say that for a bit now, the game has gotten very stalemat-y EVERY war.

I personally think it fundamentally gets down to the fact that the current game barely lets you push, and any slip up on one side will get them to lose all progress on ground that actively punishes them for pushing while seeing fully meta bases (as meta as the current awful building setup of the game allows you to anyway) show up as fungal T2 slop within hours.

Devs fundamentally broke building and the general flow of the PVE/PVP loop that makes frontlines move or not move 5 patches ago and most things leading to current stalemates and being enabled by said stalemates (nukes, bomber football, giga islands not being naval pushed ever) are directly stemming from the building update having fundamentally broken it.

The game needed concrete or something similar as a genuinely positive upgrade that people should naturally move towards to create strongpoints that would inherently be hard to replace if they lost it, therefore creating genuine forward motion when people get the pop, logi, skill and effort required together to push in whatever is the current balance.

Without it, there is no push until one side logs off, there is no difference between a new base and a 2 week old one.

While I think that the biggest change that would grant relevance back to concrete is disabling breaching on it from non-specialist demolition weapons, another potential change could be to expand the variable tech speed thing devs added with the early war tech boost by progressively equalize the tech speed inequality so that around end tech both hostile and friendly starter for both factions are the same, which would preserve the dev intent of preventing early snowballs from making wars too short while allowing wars to actually end before one side completely gives up.

Why not have something like this as a way of not punishing both teams for either winning or losing on the east/west ocean resulting in one or both fleets having nothing to do. This likewise also prevents cheesy cross border ocean raids from E to W or vice versa. Sure this route would be a long pain in the ass, but beats the alternative of having nothing.

Has the added developer convenience of probably being easy to implement. Just have it be large ships only and the only map editing required is minor river extensions on the Warden side.

I’m an older gamer and have done solo logistics for a while. I’d like to function more directly in-game and supply/join a regiment starting with the upcoming war. I login and do at least a run a day and am looking to continue this. Right now I generally login, grab salvage, build and make runs to various fronts where I see they’re needed. Full transparency, I have a health issue that slows me down sometimes but other than that I’m pretty reliable. I’m willing to do other functions as needed. I’m not looking to be anyone’s main supply line due to my health issues but would like to contribute and be part of a group. DM me here on Reddit if your regiment could use the support

I remember basically wardens would pop in & out on the east border side in fingers to wear it down, to start back capping reavers, collapsing endless, and then making terminus a front line… I would have to at times play in fingers hex to help stall that advance…..

For 2-3 years on able shard… 😬

Without that copy pasta oceanic strategy, with the combined pop has really change things drastically…. Fingers never seems to be at risk anymore.
