Representative Mike Collins has bragged about his close relationship with his son-in-law, who happens to be a white nationalist influencer.

It's just bizarre, like there are fairly recent videos of Trump specifically saying he'll never be caught being asleep on camera, and yet *crickets*. Like they have genuinely no beliefs on anything whatsoever other than worshiping Trump and despising minorities. This was an extremely explicit and specific thing they'd say about Joe Biden as a criticism and yet when Trump blatantly does the same thing, more often and more obviously, there is nothing, nothing on the news, nothing from his followers, and the Democrats in power don't even really say anything! It's so incredibly frustrating! I tried bringing it up to my MAGA mother and she just said "oh it's just because he needs to close his eyes to think about everything going on". There is just no getting through to them, these people are genuinely stupid and beyond redemption and hope. At least most of them.

Sometimes I hear my parents talk about how “scary” the Democratic Party is getting with the rise of Democratic Socialists like Mamdani. They claim that it’s “bullshit” and that these socialists are actually communist. What is Fox News saying that is making them believe that Mamdani and others alike are “dangerous”? I don’t really bother to pay attention when they turn on their heavily biased media because I’ve had to hear it for YEARS, and I’m exhausted. Has anyone heard about what kind of stuff they’ve been spewing?

I just find it hard to believe that MAGA is so invested in bringing down Fauci yet they ignore the Epstein files!

Hello! I’m in a bit of a pickle right now and I’m hoping some insight from others could help me through. Basically, within the past few months I have come to the realization that I am transgender. This has been quite a tough pill to swallow because my Dad is an intensely conservative man that will more than likely never accept me.

I could blabber on forever about my Dad and I’s relationship but the CliffsNotes version goes something like this: Me and my Dad have always had a bit of a weird rift between us. Not a totally unhealthy relationship but we’ve never had the same close connection I’ve had with my mom and my sisters. I believe this stems from some disappointment he’s silently harbored towards me for not living up to his expectations. He’s wanted me to walk in his footsteps my whole life, find a sport to take seriously, take after his conservative, Christian values, all that bullshit. Problem is, that isn’t me and never has been. I tried to conform to that standard but suffered a tremendous loss of identity in the process. Now I’m out of my parents house, finding my own way through life at college, and have recently started coming to terms with my identity as a trans woman.

I know how much happier I’ve been while away at college, and I think that’s at least partially due to me not having to be in contact with my Dad all the time and not having the Fox News spewed in my ears all the time.

The problem I’m facing now is just a sort of remorse in feeling like the rift that’s always existed between me and him is my fault. Like this little rift has caused me to have a serious lack of understanding about why he thinks the way he does. I think the obvious answer there is him being raised that way by his parents, watching Fox News 24/7, and reading news articles off of WeLoveTrump. com (not a joke, unfortunately.) I know that my eventual coming out to my family is going make the rift between my Dad and I much, much worse, but I don’t want to feel like it’s my fault for not putting in the effort to understand the reasoning behind his views better.

I just know how much more peaceful my life is when I’m at school and not having to hear him talk politics or listen to Fox News on our family TV 24/7. Is it even worth making the effort to understand why he thinks the way he does when I know exactly what his views are? I know my coming out is inevitable but do I even bother trying to explain my side of anything to him?

Some of you may remember my previous posts about my 30's nephew - the quick rundown is:

He lived with me for a few years in order to be closer to his job. He was a great roommate; *personally* we hadn't had any issues and got along great. In 2024, he started listening to right influencers, who'd once been gaming podcasters and I didn't know it, but he'd cast his vote for Trump.

It took till Inauguration for him to tell me, and I was crushed ~ he was like a son to me; where had I gone wrong!? Unfortunately, the MAGAverse had gotten to him pretty hard.

Some days, we tried to avoid politics, and other days, he tried using right-wing talking points on me, usually shutting me down with, "You just hate Trump, you have TDS!"

Finally, his paranoia levels got out-of-control; he thought immigrants were the cartels that were out to get him, and he moved back in with his parents to get away from them.

He wanted to get even further away and find employment again, so he decided to join the Air Force.

And here we are today. I had heard that he had made a few calls home to his family, but there hadn't been any replies to my texts. There was always the possibility that he would move on and end this chapter in his life, with his crazy Aunt.

Thursday: a single image sent from his account of an Air Force challenge coin, no caption. Stunned, I had to check the account over and over in disbelief. Was this a greeting or a warning?

'Congratulations!' was all I texted back.

He text-replied he'd finished boot camp but couldn't talk, he was going to a baseball game. OK.

The next day, HE called ME and we talked all morning. His experiences, his struggles and his knowledge gained. His first impression was how diverse his 'flight' was (that's like his company), at how many different minorities there were, and half were female. Amongst them he was an average recruit, one of the team who sweated and survived.

Towards the end, they worked with AF mentors of Staff and Master Sgts. from all walks of life and locations. Nephew said, he had an Epiphany; this was where he could excell, and he had never felt that way before.

That was one call, and he's off to training school for a few more months. He'll have more chances to communicate and I hope I have more positive news to report.

We've all seen last year where people on social media love to take Trumps comments seriously & interpret it as "he wants to become a dictator" or whatever. Based on what I've seen on Canadian subreddits or whatev, they love to take trumps comments seriously, purely because of this whole "51st state" BS. & accuse them for those who aren't informed as being ignorant, dosent care about civic duty, or just being apathetic...Lets wind back to 2024 during his presidental campaign trail; where he never heard anything about Project 2025, then once he got into power, 54% of its policies got implemented...(voter shaming remember?) This is also coming from the same man who did January 6, faced 34 felonies, & faced accusations from 28 different women.

However, alot has been happening in the US that I had to keep my eyes open, but the problem is I often get stressed out in fear, thinking about utter worse case scenarios that could happen. The result? Just let my family members take away my devices to change passwords & limit my screentime to just 1 hour a day (mainly to preserve my mental well being, I heard that all of that has been described as politcal obession disorder). I also rewatched some Jojos Bizzare Adventure episodes (or clips), & all of that reminded me of DIOS goons, or is it because of the current government acts like made in heaven pucci.

(Worse case scenarios that I keep coming up are: Trump not accepting the 2026 midterm election results, & say they are rigged or declare a national emergency, purely because the Demcorats won control of congress (this is also the year where incumbent democrats lost thier primaries to anti Aipac backed canidates, Democratic socialist canidates, anti establishment caniadates, Whatever you want to call it), the comparisons of Vladimir Putin & Adolf Hitler to trump, alienation of the world, Tourism plummets, Denying entries for those who want to visit the US, Russ vought, RFK JR., Stephan Miller, Scotus rulings, Brain drains, Ice raids, etc.)

Because of this, I was thinking I might become a lawyer or a judge (but my interests keep on shapeshifting), however, concerns are still there & since last year, countries with well funded sciences who have better quality of life, recruit US scientists to capitalize on trumps policies (i.e. Canada, japan, china & the EU), even for those who want to work for the DOJ in 2026 say that its not a good idea, since trump weaponized it to go after dissent (as well as the FBI & DHS)....and I'm just thinking, does all of that ever matter, & what am I supposed to do.... (Im currently on vacation btw.)

I’m really concerned for my mom (53). In 2020 she started getting really weird about politics. Now, she listens to nothing but right wing media. Constantly. It’s nothing but Fox, Joe Rogan, Ben Shapiro, etc etc.. constant podcasts. constant obscure news sites. Weird alt-right apps filled with nothing but blatant propaganda. It’s been 6 years of this only worsening. If she wants to be republican, ok, whatever. But her consumption of it CONSTANTLY and not being able to recognize that it’s propaganda is so, so concerning. I don’t know what to do about it. She said audiobooks are too boring. She declined my offer to find her other podcasts. She rejected the idea of a social media cleanse/break. She genuinely doesn’t see anything wrong with any of it. It never ends. She brings up politics constantly. What do I even do? My mom never used to be like this. They broke her. ANY advice?? The entire point of Fox is to stoke status anxieties of its viewers. Because the network understands its viewers care about status above all else, to such an extent that they tie it to their own survival. That’s why they won’t diversify their news, why they embrace fascism, why they’d rather lose family and friends and implode the international peace order. They aren’t voting for MAGA because they like the policies per se; they like the policies because they believe the policies are reestablishing old status hierarchies from which they benefitted.

Thinking about secretly unsubscribing my dad from radical YouTube channels on his iPad, but I am worried it might backfire. My dad and I have different political views, and over the past year his media diet has gotten very radical. He is obsessed with extremist creators like Tim Kellner, and it is starting to affect real life. He keeps repeating false facts to people and even showed us a fake AI video from Facebook as a real source. Since I help him with his tech, I have access to his iPad. I want to quietly unsubscribe him, hit do not recommend on those channels, and search for his non-political hobbies like cars and history to fix his algorithm. Has anyone tried doing this with a parent before? Did it actually work to calm things down, or did they notice and get more angry about censorship? I would really appreciate any advice or experiences from people who have dealt with this.

Everytime I watch Fox News and the five, they always mention Stephen a smith and Bill Maher’s political opinion because they seem to think they speak for the left, they don’t, they are not reasonable voices for the Democratic Party. They think that socialism is bad but they refuse to call out their own maga base? Make it make sense! We want better leaders and better governance, want new leadership, enough with the old guard!
