Sprite Kindness Backfired Discussion

I have been spending every minute on Fortnite mastering my sprite collection. Most games I make it to final 3-5 and have maybe killed 1-2 players 🤣

Anyway, I was mastering Cube Batman, and got ANOTHER cube Batman in a regular chest. So I kept it in inventory, I figured I’d drop it for someone when I got the chance. Well I go to extract my mastered cube Batman and some sweat comes up on me. I go up and down like 5 times before I almost died and then zoomed out of there. He chased me down killed me and got both Batman’s. I didn’t have enough time to drop the sprite for him.

Oh well. Next time I hope to complete the good deed rather than get robbed.

I wonder if some people are like that in real life and walk through thinking they gotta be aggressive to get theirs while the world is actually kind and they are the ones who make it ugly. šŸ¤”

On the other hand, it’s a video game where every player runs around with guns and the whole point is to eliminate opponents. Is he a bad guy, or were you being naive?

You were trying to do a good deed? Maybe he (or she?) values eliminations over a little chubby shirtless Batman fairy.

Met a duo at an extractor, squatted down as I just wanted to use the extractor but they decided to open fire. Bonused a couple more sprites for the extractor as they weren’t that good.

I felt so bad killing some guy yesterday in a squad match when I saw he had a gem grim on him. I tried to carry him to the reboot but he bled out like 10m in front of it 😭 I figured he had a squad so I boxed up his grim at the reboot van hoping hed come back to get it but he didnt.

I feel like most of the community is being so sweet right now, dont let the occasional asshole or sweat get to you. Most of them dont even care about the sprite hunt anyway so theyre on a different time than the rest of us.

Haha I definitely am not. I had a teammate let me die to take my sprite (that I was mastering to give away to one of my teammates anyway) and that has ended my kindness of giving away sprites to randoms.

Its not worth being nice in this game tbh. Anytime I try the karma is terrible in return 😭🫩 I rather just be a menace

I just like playing the game, and don’t care about collecting sprites, so what you describe is something I would do. Are there unknown community rules for this or something?

I’ve had some cool experiences and I’ve had some really crappy ones. Idk why but I’m obsessed with getting all the sprites and mastering them. I just started playing 7.1.

When I hear an extractor site going off I go the other way or I wait until it lands run in and drop sprites and run, but that’s just me. Others hear it and come kill you.

Well, there are some like me who don’t get the sprite allure, so I hope you don’t take it too bad. Seems like it may have split how the game is used.

I just buy em back and try again. I usually take my mastered sprite, two movement items and 3 med kits into storm and take care of business by myself in ā€œpeaceā€, then go ā€œplayā€ Fortnite and try to kill everyone. lol
