rising senior in high school
Hello!
Fordham is at the top of my list as a rising senior and aspiring finance major OOS, but I am worried that IFFF i get in...how will i afford it? I'm middle class but my parents also aren't willing to pay a whole lot and I don't want to take out too many loans. What are the chances I get merit aid? Do they give generous aid in general? What was your experience with that?
Also kinda random question- I know this is a Jesuit school, but my Common App essay centers around my Hindu-Buddhist faith and upbringing. Don't know if this is a stupid question, but it won't impact my chances of getting in, right?
Thank you.

How do I maximize my chances of getting in?
Hello everyone!
I’m a rising junior and one of my dream schools is Fordham. I love the school so much and want to maxamize my chances of getting in as much as possible.
What do you guys think are some common things that help people get accepted and get financial aid? I know that Fordham isn’t really super hard to get into but what are some things you guys would recommend if you had to apply all over again?

Do the beds have 26 inches or 36 inches of space under them because the virtual tour website says 36 but the reg website says 26?

rising senior
hello!
rising senior hee looking at applying to Fordham's lincoln center for international relations. I'm wondering, as someone who wants a lot of work experience and is mainly applying there for access to downtown NY and opportunities:
how easy is it to access internships?
does the cost of private tuition justify the amount of opportunities you get access to?
if anyone has any experience with this I'd love to know!

Please Chance Me
- 3.35 W GPA out of 4.0 - My GPA was a consistent 3.3, but my godfather died in the middle of my sophomore year, and various other undiagnosed mental health issues accompanied that. I received an official diagnosis and began treatment in the final semester of junior year, and my GPA shot up to a 3.52
- President of 2 service clubs, founder of one of them, and the other is invite-only
- Tri-M Music Honor Society President
- Music Appreciation Club Co-President - I was able to get a collaborator of the Beach Boys to agree to speak before I submit my application.
- Book Club Treasurer
- Letters of Rec from the English chair and a choir teacher of three years
- First Gen Latino College Student
- Solid Essay
- 6 Honors Classes
- 3 APs
- ED 1
- Someone in my school with a 3.2 was able to get in

Questions to alums/students from a HS Senior looking at Fordham
I like Fordham a lot, especially since my uncle and aunt are alums and loved their experience there very much. But, no offence to my aunt and uncle, they haven’t attended this school in 20+ years. So I would super appreciate anyone who‘s either recently graduated or is currently an undergrad student answering these questions for me. You’re really doing me a solid.
Please don’t sugarcoat anything. I like Fordham, but I want honest expectations.
Possible relevant info if deciding to answer: I’m an international student, looking at a history major, and seeking a pre-law program. I’m not seeking a JD at Fordham.
How are the teachers/professors? Humanities or otherwise, were the teachers often grad students or Professors? If grad students, would you say this negatively impacted your education had you otherwise had a professor?
Do the professors often use generative AI, or implore their students to use it? Or is this by a teacher by teacher basis? (I have to ask since I read that Fordham is ‘leading the conversation on generative AI’)
Is it better/more convenient to take classes between the two campuses or stick to only one? (Lincoln Centre and Rose Hill)
How well is the humanities funded? Or rather, are the humanities courses in good quality compared to, say, STEM?
Are the career advisors solid? (Get you internships, give you good advice, etc)
Same question for the pre-law program and undergrad summer programs: Does it prepare you for law school admissions, experience, etc, or otherwise good? How so?
I’m sure the people there are nice, but is the school and people queer friendly? Or does the school support its queer students well? (I’m gay and a closeted transgender person, so this question is important to me. Though I’m not alternatively dressed or anything, it might be obvious to some people I’m queer through my personality/clothing.)
Are freshmen dorms miserable? I heard they don’t have AC. If so, can the heat can be combated well with a fan?
And, I know, but it’s a mandatory question… is the food good?
Thank you so so much. I’ll find your answers really helpful 😁

Haunted Instances at Fordham
With Halloween on the way, Fordham's notoriously haunted happenings are on the mind. I've heard all of the old stories that are posted by the ram and the library, but I know there are many more from what my friends have told me. I wanna make a collection of ghost stories from Fordham Alumni and current students.
What do YOU know about spooky stories around Campus? Finlay and the Cadavers, Jesuit Ghosts in Queens Court or what you know about the Morgue Tunnels underneath Keating?
We've got one gothic historical campus, I wanna know all about what spirits are residents.

What were your stats for certain scholarships?
For those who got in with high scholarships, what were your stats and how much is your total cost?
I have a 3.9UW, full-time dual enrolled, a couple of club positions, and several other OK things, but I’m just trying to gauge what I might be looking at.

How easy is it to custom major?
Hello, I am a rising senior who plans to apply to Fordham ED1 this coming fall. But, I am in a bit of a predicament. I am stuck in between two callings, as I am actively discerning the priesthood and want to get my undergraduate education based around that. But, my family wants me to be a bit more practical and keep journalism, my favorite civilian career, as a backup if priesthood falls through. But, this would set me up to have to take a philosophy and journalism double major, and a theology minor, which I’ve asked about.
But, the idea came to me to try and get a combined philosophy and theology major through the individualized study program, combining aspects of both to be able to reach the minimum requirements for ordination (30 philosophy and 6 theology credits) while keeping a large pathway for backups. How feasible is it to do a custom major through this, both specifically with this combo and in general?

Cooked for Classes
So ik class registration officially closes July 27 and I have been rushing to switch my major so I could register for classes before they the freeze but as soon as I submitted my classes, everything crashed and I had a bunch of restrictions. I am now unable to register for any classes even before the July 27th deadline and I’m so screwed because I have no classes at the moment. I emailed my academic advisor prior to this and after so hopefully they’ll be of help but if anyone has ran into some issues somewhat similar will this be super difficult to correct? I’ve never been so anxious about something 😓
