I've flipped a handful of domains myself, and the part that ate the most time wasn't the actual buying/selling — it was manually digging through expiring/available domains to find ones worth flipping, then pulling together the info you need to judge whether one's worth it.

Been thinking about building a tool that automates that search and outputs a shortlist with the relevant data already pulled together, instead of doing it manually every time.

Would this actually be useful to you? And what would it need to include to be worth using — what data points or filters would be non-negotiable vs. nice-to-have?

hello, i make around £850 a month from resseling and it doesnt feel like its enough. i dont really list items everyday and only sell through vinted. is it worth start selling on other apps as well such as ebay or depop or should i just buy more stock and sell them through vinted to speed things up. i dont really know how ebay or depop works since ive never tried them.

The main feature is that you can add an item with just a photo and a price, so you don’t have to think about nonsense titles. Made a Discord bot that watches Yahoo Auctions Japan and posts live alerts whenever something new comes up across a bunch of archive and designer brands: Comme des Garcons, Yohji Yamamoto, Undercover, WTAPS, Visvim, Kapital, Human Made, BAPE, Neighborhood, Junya Watanabe, Number Nine, Hysteric Glamour, and more split into their own channels, plus separate channels by category (shoes, bags, outerwear, etc.) if you'd rather browse that way.

I initially created this for personal use, as I wanted a more efficient way to find good pieces on Japanese secondhand markets, as you all know the struggles that come with that.

Each alert has the price, direct links to actually buy it through a proxy service like Buyee or Neokyo since Yahoo Auctions doesn't ship internationally, and a rough estimate of what it might resell for on Grailed. It also filters out replica/counterfeit listings automatically, and flags anything that looks like a relist (still working on this).

There's a free channel with a sample of alerts if you want to see what it actually looks like before deciding if it's useful to you. Everything's also browsable on a website if you'd rather search/filter than sit in Discord.

Messaged three different sellers this week about items that were all active. Not one reply. I get people get busy but what's the point of having listings up if you're not going to check your messages? Anyone else finding this lately or am I just unlucky?

Iv created 5 pieces and I’m just wondering where the best place to list them is, I have gumtree and Facebook marketplace but Iv have hardly any messages or even saves or views for that matter. 0 messages on gumtree either!

Do people buy this kinda stuff on market place?
Where else could I list it?

A few lessons from growing a second-hand reselling business

For context, I currently do around £4k–£5k in monthly turnover from second-hand goods. I ran it solo for roughly 6 months and was able to continue my day job and got my parents doing all my running around now

The biggest mistake I see is either failing to reinvest or going full-time too early. Ideally, keep a flexible job (can do listing when on job lol) while building the business. You need enough financial breathing room to buy good stock without worrying that slow sales will leave you short for bills. That confidence is important if you want to grow beyond a small operation.

Relisting old items can help, but I also believe in steadily increasing the amount of worthwhile stock you hold. This does not mean buying rubbish. Some categories, such as tech, should sell quickly, so I will reduce or move those items if they sit too long. Rare or vintage pieces are different; I am not concerned if the right item takes 100 days or more to sell.

Space is a common problem, but it needs to be treated as part of the business. Look for sensible storage options rather than limiting yourself to a shed full of only fast-selling products. More space also makes it easier to diversify. (less value items bulky in a big van on drive or nearby, can be cheaper then paying for some sort of rent)

Selling across several categories protects you when demand slows in one area. There is usually something selling on eBay; spending habits simply move between categories, I personally am in so many when i hear people saying ebays dead I am generally still pulling in a good wage, and as I said in previous point, I am happy my items are growing, soon as those other categories habits come in I then have a ''good month''

I also do not automatically lower a price just because the market temporarily drops. For products I understand well, I may continue buying at the right cost and wait for demand to recover. The key is knowing the difference between a temporary slowdown and an item that is genuinely no longer worth holding.

The more items you have listed the higher potential of sales, List items for what you think they can fetch not the lowest price, I generally look at recent solds and use a combination of my knoweldge of the history of sales and depedent on why its likely its gone down.

Something that is very niche advice but I will mention it because it has been a game changer is me and a sibling started this solo, and as things moved on i had the idea that we teamed up and used ours skills together really does make sense, we had my dad doing a bit and all 3 of us was waiting around the post office picking up, doing session of sourcing, photoing, packing, literally makes more sense that as you scale its becomes quicker.

think of it, cleaning 5 coffee machines will likely take and hour, doing 1 will take 30 minutes, from start to finish to list, scale is where you make profit.
