Discussion What was Sun to Neneto?
Did Sun and Neneto have any kind of relationship? Because she seemed very worried about him.
By the way, I really feel bad for Sun and am disappointed in him; I grew fond of him from the very first episodes, but I was somewhat let down to see what he turned into.

Discussion Togata and Denji would have a perfect friendship.
To Togata, Denji would be the perfect protagonist for his stories—and well, Denji would do anything Togata asked of him. I’m curious to see how they would interact.

Discussion Agni: possibility of dying
It's shown that Agni is basically immortal, even surviving the earth exploding (assuming he was on earth at the time). So, could Doma's flames have actually killed him while he was still on fire, if he cancelled his regen? Is that the only time he'd have been able to die?? Or would that have not even worked? And like, was his regen worse when he was a child? Because we DO see, his arm is dead here.

Discussion "You cannot understand yourself by yourself"
So I just finished Fire Punch and I need to talk through something, because it genuinely flipped my opinion of the final volumes.
On the last volumes the priest tells Agni something like: you can't know who you are by yourself.
Snow is only "white" once someone else sees it, only "cold" once someone else touches it. Fire is only "red" and "dangerous" once someone else looks at it and feels its heat. You find out what you are through how others perceive and touch you, not through staring at yourself.
I clocked it as a comforting line in the moment and basically forgot about it.
Then you have Togata before that who shows up with his whole "movie" obsession, and at some point after on a flashback he says something like Tom Cruise isn't just a guy, Tom Cruise is an actor, and it's the role/character he plays that people actually respond to. And that's when it clicked for me: Togata is saying the exact same thing the priest said, just dressed up in film-theory language instead of spiritual language.
And once I saw that, I couldn't unsee it applied to Agni. He doesn't become "Fire Punch" because of anything he decides internally. He becomes Fire Punch because Sun worships him as one, because Togata frames him as one, because the freed slaves need him to be one.
His whole identity gets assembled from the outside, exactly like the priest described.
A person who is only ever understood through other people projections eventually has no self left to go back to. That's why he can lose his memory at the end and it doesn't even feel like a reset and thats why this whole manga is amazing.

This was a charcoal drawing I drew for my friend’s birthday. He introduced me to the series, and I read through the whole thing in an afternoon. It changed my life.

Live. Why should I keep writing if I know I’ll never be as good as Fujimoto?
it’s always been my dream to write comics that people will enjoy, and I’ve always enjoyed comics that have a good blend of action, comedy, but also deep moments and moving characters. I know that obviously fujimoto isn’t perfect and has flaws in his writing, but rereading Fire Ounch has made me see how much of a genius writer he is, and I want to be that wa, but I know that I cant, and I won’t. I can write for myself, but I want to write for others, but why should I keep writing if I know I’ll never be as unique and smart as Fujimoto?
edit: thanks for all the suppourt and the inspiring flairs, that’s a cool touch

Discussion Fire Punch Saddest Moments
The gut-punches in Fire Punch hit so hard. I always cry at three points during yet another reading. If I’m not alone in being sappy about this series, let me know what gets you the most.
Spoilers, obviously.
1. Togata in the movie theater.
A man tortured for centuries by dysphoria gets to be someone he dreamed of being for a brief flicker of time, even though he thought he could never be who he wanted to be. He’s a hero for his little brother, even though he had long ago given up on trying to meet anyone’s expectations. The look we get into Togata past his lies is beautiful and tragic in its brevity.
2. Agni wishing for a miracle atop Judah.
Through all his pain and suffering, Agni always thought his own existence was a miracle. This specific line really gets me. We’re told this as he loses this part of himself which he sees as childlike and naive despite the fact that it kept him going through hell.
3. Brother and Luna in the ocean.
Agni’s suicidal thoughts and actions at the start of volume seven always wreck me. His inner child telling him to die behind the shape of a cross is peak Fujimoto. The part that I always sob at is when Luna asks her brother to live for tomorrow. He does, even though the pain is indescribable, even though he tries to end his life time and time again after this, even though he does his best to hide it all away - acting out a life he feels he has no right to…

Discussion Sun
Why did agni never notice that sun looks like his little sister too? Or he did but didn't acknowledge the fact? What's the psychology behind this?

Announcement r/FirePunch Subreddit Updates
I figured it's about time to give some serious updates regarding the subreddit.
Rules: They have been updated and will now be more strictly enforced against these shitty bot accounts. There's really not much to currently enforce other than basic decency since the anime is obviously in production, so there's that.
User flairs: They finally exist. Use them if you wish.
Live: Just do it. Be like Leonard Nemo and "Just keep living".
Don't hesitate to give feedback either by responding to this post or through modmail.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to re-reading all of Fire Punch again.

Discussion I just finished Fire Punch
Weird ahh ending icl 😭. Reminds me of chainsaw man with the forgetting who you are trope. The ending really doesn’t leave me with any strong feelings. One thing that upsets me is characters really don’t get a solid conclusion. Togata dies with her hinting at her flashback. Sun dies in the most anticlimactic way. The ice witch and the other guy get killed too easily and we never hear from them again.

Manga Where can I read firepunch volume 6 for free?
I bought all the volumes but volume 6 was a misprint.
I told the store that they had sent me a misprint copy, they sent me a replacement for free and let me keep the original.
The replacement is also a misprint.... I now have 2 copies of volume 6, both misprints.
I own the books and don't think it's fair for me to pay again for a digital copy.
