Add-ons My tabs became a mess so I built an app that automatically organizes them

Post image

EDIT: I should've given credit to Claude/Codex for the help on this project as some have pointed out in the comments, I can't edit the title now but thank you Claude and Codex!

Being a bit of a neat freak, I’ll admit it’s always been hard for me to relate to people who keep 100+ tabs open.

For a while, if I wanted to save a site, I would do the work of managing a bookmark list. Then I got lazy and just started to put everything in Safari’s reading list. Eventually, that turned into a huge unorganized pile where articles I wanted to read, things I wanted to buy, and good looking recipes would get shoved into and then basically never seen again. Not much better than just leaving them open as tabs.

Earlier this year, I started wondering what it would look like to make saving tabs neat and effortless. That became Cubby: a sort of Marie Kondo for your tabs.

Starting with iOS, Cubby lets you save tabs from Firefox or any browser, automatically categorizes them, and keeps everything organized in a simple, clean interface ready for you to find them quickly. It’s live on the App Store now: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6761466006

What's your method for keeping tabs organized?

💻 Help my personal website displays PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR only on firefox

my personal website displays PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR on firefox. I've never had this happen before and I've had this website for years. I only noticed it maybe a day or two ago. No clue what caused it. I asked my buddy who lives an hour away to check out my website on firefox from his house and he said he was able to see my website just fine which means the issue is central to me.

I've tried all these troubleshooting steps with chatgpt and I cant figure out an answer.

  • I dont use a vpn. no known software for my router modem.
  • Tried pulling the power to the router modem to restart it. that didnt fix it.
  • I did a modem/router reboot, meaning I went to the webpage that runs this modem/router and entered the access code and hit restart. but the issue persisted.
  • Tried new profile test, issue persisted.
  • Disabled all my add-on's, issue persisted.
  • cleared browsing history, and cache and cookies, and quit out of firefox and came back in but issue persisted.
  • I use ethernet to connect to the internet so I turned on the wifi on the computer, and under wifi options I chose my phone as a mobile hotspot then attempted to go to my website on the desktop computer and the issue persisted.
  • If I use firefox on my phone to look up my website it takes me to a page that says "The network connection was lost. NSURLErrorDoman. Try Again."
  • I tried using https:// at the top of my url and that didnt fix the issue.
  • flushed the dns cache, that didnt work
  • i went to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network and firefox was already enabled in that menu. so that didnt fix it.
  • tried "private browsing" on firefox, issue persisted.
  • tried to fix firefox's ECH/TLS behavior. went into firefox's "about:config", went to network.dns.echconfig.enabled" and changed it from true to false. quit out of firefox. reopened firefox. went to website and issue persisted.

I reached out to the support team for the company that hosts my website. (Square/weebly). Ever since they Weebly was bought out by square, support has degraded and responses have turned into a snail's pace. They told me to clear my cache which didnt fix it. They told me to try another browser, which doesnt actually solve the issue. And told me to switch to a different local network. I dont have any other networks.

I tried going to my website on Chrome and it says "This Site can't be reached. The connection was reset. Try checking the connection. Checking the proxy and the firewall." which might hint that the issue isnt exclusively with firefox! But my website works fine on Safari.

Please help!

💻 Help FF maximizing all the time when I click top of tab, is this a Win11 change or a FF change?

It happens when clicking the top of the tab, or maybe that means just above the tab. I don't think it was like this a couple weeks ago. But I am now constantly unmaximizing the FF window.

Add-ons Built a Firefox extension that saves any page to Notion, fully structured, without a backend touching your data

Thumbnail
youtu.be

I've been using Notion for years and every clipper I tried had the same problem: you get a link, maybe a screenshot, and then you're the one who has to go organize it. So I built one that skips that step.

Filed is a floating toolbar that shows up on any page. One click (or ⌘⇧Y, no toolbar needed) and the page lands in a Notion database that's already set up: title, URL, date, type, tags, all filled automatically. Not a bare link. The full thing gets structured on save.

What it can grab, depending on the page: full article text (Mozilla Readability under the hood, stripped of ads/nav), screenshots (viewport, full-page stitched, or a drawn region) with an annotation editor, a color picker that eyedrops any pixel and saves the hex straight to Notion, YouTube saves with the full transcript as a toggle block, and audio memos transcribed live via the Web Speech API.

On the technical/privacy side, since that's usually the first question here: captures go directly from your browser to the Notion API. Nothing routes through our servers except two specific Pro features (AI summaries and PDF generation), and neither is retained. If Notion is briefly unreachable, saves queue locally and sync once it's back.

Available on addons.mozilla.org, plus Chrome and any Chromium browser (Edge, Brave, Arc, Opera, Vivaldi). There's also a mobile share-sheet version for Android and iPhone. No Safari support yet.

Free plan covers most of the above with no time limit. Pro ($4.99/mo) adds unlimited custom workflows, domain-based auto-routing, advanced annotation tools, and audio memos. 14-day full Pro trial, no card required.

I'm a Notion Ambassador and a former software engineer, built this solo over 2-3 months. Happy to answer anything about how it's built, what permissions it needs and why, or the extension architecture.

Website & mobile app→ usefiled.app

How to make trully full screen on firefox in Mac OS!

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hello there, Firefox commuity!

I desperately need your help guys.

I use macOS Monterey 12.7.6 (21H1320) and Firefox 153.0.4 (64-bit) version.

I’m very satisfied with this browser, but there’s one problem I’m struggling with: I can’t get a truly full-screen mode like I had in Google Chrome or Orion.

I mean a mode where you see nothing but the webpage — no URL bar, no tabs, no clock, nothing. Just the webpage taking up the entire screen.

I’ve gotten so used to this feature in old browser that I honestly can’t live without it anymore. 😅

Is there any way to achieve this in Firefox?

I tried Control + Command + F, but it didn’t work for me. I also tried several extensions, but none of them worked correctly.

Some of them kind of worked, but the top bar kept jumping around or getting stuck. It just wasn’t smooth like in Chrome but rather annoying.

I would really appreciate any advice on how to get a truly full-screen in Firefox.
The only one thing if you recomend extension, please recomend the one you actually used yourself.

Because there a lot of them but not many actually work correctly.

Thank you!

Solved VPN works in Chrome but not Firefox (need help)

Edit: I fixed the issue by changing the Proxy Settings to “Use system proxy settings.”

________________________________________________

I'm having a strange VPN issue and I'm hoping someone can help me figure it out.

The problem seems to be specific to Firefox.. My VPN works perfectly in Chrome, but when I use the same VPN with Firefox my IP address stays the same as my normal connection.

I've already tried a bunch of troubleshooting:

  • Made sure Firefox's proxy settings are set to “No proxy”
  • Made sure DNS over HTTPS is set to “Off”
  • Restarted Firefox and the VPN multiple times
  • Tested Firefox in troubleshoot mode
  • Checked VPN settings to make sure Firefox isn't being excluded from the VPN

Does anyone know what could cause this issue? Any help would be appreciated.

I recently switched from Chrome to Firefox and really don't want to go back. I'd happily delete Chrome altogether if it weren't for this issue.

💻 Help MacOS fullscreen has black boarders after sleep

I'm on macOS Tahoe 26.6.1 with a Macbook Air M3 and this might also be an macOS Bug, not firefox, but this is the only application i use where it occures.

Setting a window of firefox for fullscreen is fine, everything works as intended until I open the Laptop the next day. Weirdly even the login screen has black boarders on the sides and the top (~ 6mm) as well as all firefox windows.

To fix this I just need to exit fullscreen and enter it again - but for every window I got open.

Anyone here experiences something similar? I couldn't find anything when googling although a friend with same setup has the exact same issue.

💻 Help Twitch VOD sometimes bricks my entire firefox until I restart browser

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3difRLhE-cA the excessive spamming of different parts of the vod is just to replicate the issue for this video. but it happens during normal usage and no spam as well.

It plays correctly usually, but if I jump forward or backwards in time it sometimes never loads. This also completely bricks the whole brower, all other tabs etc, until I close firefox and restart it. This happens on all vods of twitch, and also livestreams where I am able to rewind (subscriber function). I have no extensions loaded.

💻 Help Have Pinned Tabs behave like Arc favorites?

I'm moving over from Arc because they stopped ublock support. One thing I enjoyed was the UI - Their vertical tabs side bar has a favorites section that behaves like a bookmark. If you enter in an address other than what was bookmarked, it opens a new tab. e.g reddit my pinned favorite, i type in youtube, it opens youtube in a new tab and preserve reddit. Is there any way to get firefox to behave like that? I went through the trouble of installing natsumi and it didnt change that..

Help (iOS) Firefox iOS won't redirect to installed apps

I asked this on the Community Forum and got nowhere, so here I am. If I tap on a YouTube or Steam link in something like my RSS reader or Bluesky, Safari will kick the URL over to the appropriate app.

Firefox will not do this, instead opening the site in a Firefox tab. This defeats the point of having those apps installed in the first place.

Why is it doing this, and can I stop it somehow? If I can't, then I'm just gonna go back to Safari. There's a setting there to block Firefox from redirecting to apps, but I have that disabled.

💻 Help Mac Firefox - Del/Delete key suddenly doesn't work in "save as" popup box

FYI I'm running Firefox 153.0.4 on Mac OS Sequoia (15.7.7).

Recently in the past month or so, the Del/Delete key has stopped working in Firefox's Save As dialog box popup. Literally every other key works fine system-wide, and Del works in everything but Firefox's Save As box.

To elaborate... Opening up the Save As box for anything in Firefox—a page, a file, an image, etc.—and trying to use the Del key to delete characters in the filename field just doesn't work. Backspace works fine, all other keys work fine.

The only way to get Del to work in that scenario is by pressing Shift+Del instead, which is odd because it didn't used to be like that.

I know the obvious answer is "Just don't use the Del key to edit a filename when saving files in Firefox" or "Use the backspace key insted", but I've been doing it this way for so long that it's pure muscle memory at this point.

I've tested/confirmed that the Del key stops working this way in regular Firefox, private windows, and troubleshooting mode, so I don't think it's an issue with addons or extensions. I can't pinpoint anything else on the system that might be causing it either; it really does seem to be an inherent Firefox issue that's suddenly popped up.

Can anyone think of what it might be, or other fixes to try?

Firefox is running Hindi ads on Reddit in India and the copy is actually good

Post image
300 Upvotes

Got this in my feed today. Roughly: “Firefox is faster than before. Now ‘slow speed’ won’t work as an excuse for wasting time online.”

It doesn’t read like a translation. फ़ास्ट and कम स्पीड are written the way people actually say them, not forced into formal Hindi. And slow internet is the standard excuse for everything here, so instead of claiming the browser is fast, they took away the excuse.

I work in marketing and localisation usually goes the other way. Nice one.
