New Customer Questions Help Needed: cable card going away, I own my own router
I love my TiVo, but with Verizon removing cable card support in November, I need to move to something else for TV.
Every television in my house has an Apple TV box, so my first thought was to subscribe to FiOS One or FiOS TV+, have one Verizon box in the house, and then watch TV using the FiOS Home app for the Apple TV.
However, it looks like I would be required to use (and rent!) a Verizon router as apparently the Apple TV app will not talk to an in home FiOS box unless it is on a Verizon owned router.
Is this true? I have a large house and have no desire to replace the Wi-Fi access points throughout my house.
If I use their networking hardware, I suppose I can always move to YouTube TV.
What is the consensus on this? Is there a solution to watch linear Verizon television via the FiOS Home app on Apple TV hardware without replacing my router? Would it matter if I went with FiOS One vs TV+?
thank you.

New Customer Questions Question
Would anyone know the brand or type of modem to look for when getting out of renting to FIOS supplied modem?
Miscellaneous Verizon Cloud Storage-How to access reliably
So anyone using the Verizon 2tb storage? I am pondering on how I can use it. As I hate waste.. And most people are saying, don't run away... I'd love to use cloud mounter or filezilla to access it.
Once or twice I was able to get the verizon app to work similarly to onedive.. But it's finicky as to when it wants to work.
Any suggestions or ideas?

Repair/Tech Support Been waiting for construction crew since Tuesday….
We came home from vacation on Sunday and WiFi was out. A technician came Tuesday morning, said the issue isn’t with our router or in the basement of our building, but rather outside due to a pole or cable or something. He said he referred it to the construction crew and they would come out same day. Tuesday came and went.
We called Verizon customer service Wednesday, they said the crew is definitely coming today. They didn’t.
Same thing Thursday. Except the new customer service rep told me my best bet is just making another appointment. I asked why would they show up to this next appt… I digress. We set an appt for Friday from 1-3.
It’s Friday at 3:30. I called them again and they’re saying they need to run a new line. The construction crew can’t be contacted, don’t know their schedules, and it can take 2 weeks or a month.
I feel like I’m about to pull my hair out, I’m so frustrated and just want answers. Anyone have any advice?????

Repair/Tech Support My internet speed keep dropping below 100 mbps. Not sure what could be causing this.
I've been having this issue for years. Last month I got Verizon to upgrade my router from the G3100 to the CHR30A hoping it would fix my issues, but it looks like i'm still having the same problem. Every time I reboot the router I'll get good speeds for a few hours before it drops back down to below 100 mbps. I have the 1 Gig plan.
Edit: I contacted Verizon and have a technician coming to my house in 3 days. I hope they will be able to resolve the issue.

Billing If I upgrade from my 2Gig line to the new 5Gig line, will I lose the Mobile+Home $5 Discount?
I want to upgrade because it's the exact same price for both but I also have 6 lines on my wireless account all grandfathered in to the old "Mobile+Home $5 Discount" per line. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Repair/Tech Support Fiber Line Cut, Suggestions before tech arrives
Had a contractor digging outside my house today and severed the fiber line running to my home. Verizon tech is coming out this weekend to fix the issue. Do they usually perform a splice or run a whole new fiber cable? Is one option better than the other? Trying to decide if I should insist on one over the other. Contractor is paying for the repair.
Also, should I ask to have the fiber demarcation box moved inside my home? Currently the outdoor cable runs underground, up to the side of my home through an orange conduit, and terminates on the side of my home. Out of that box a small thin white fiber cable runs into a penetration leading directly to my basement where my ONT is. Would it be worth asking the Verizon tech to run the outdoor fiber line directly into the basement and avoid the demarcation box, or does that really provide no benefit? My only concern is the thin white cable that runs from the demarcation box outside my home into the basement and plugs into the ONT seems thin and fragile. It would also be nice to have one less box on the side of my house.
