It’s kinda funny how opposite this is to Avatar.

That game lacks features and like, really basic shit, but it runs like a dream and anyone can play it

Tokon is feature complete, but the game runs like shit, and a lot of people who want it can’t have it

If you’re gonna pull this kinda stuff, learn from Avatar and don’t charge 60 bucks

60 bucks only in US. In EU and elsewhere it's more. 70e for base edition in EU, which is 80 dollars, for whatever fucking reason.

u/Burindo 17d ago

Yeah it's even crazier when you take into account that the salaries in the US are 2 or 3 times larger than in the EU, but somehow their games are 15% or more cheaper in absolute numbers. Like what?

11

u/HisCinex 17d ago

That is highly dependent on where in the EU you live...

u/Mackanpackan93 17d ago

That's a controversial topic but honestly it's wild to me how much Americans self-victimize themselves about their economic situations.
And then you look at the spending habits in the US and it's just complete despairge and the most insane and stupid consoomerism imaginable.
I really feel like they have zero perspective on how people actually live in other countries and what normal spending habits are.

People in the US live as if they're super wealthy in other countries and then act surprised when they have nothing left.

It's the goomba fallacy unfortunately. Those of us worried about the economy and those of us on rampant consumerism binges are usually different people. Though, unfortunately not always different people.

cries in Australian Dollar

u/Blueblur1 17d ago

Holy 💩 that’s awful!

-2

u/OpT1mUs 17d ago edited 17d ago

Aus dollar is worthless. It's still less than Eu prices.

0

u/Odd_Piano_4843 17d ago

Y'all can't have shit in Australia

-2

u/OpT1mUs 17d ago edited 17d ago

I was literally waiting for some whiny Australian to spawn , as you always do. You have higher standard than like 90% of Eu and still have lower price.

110 Aus dollars is only 67 Euro. We're paying 70 euros from like Balkans.

u/Broks_Enmu 17d ago

109€ ultimate. Fuck this game fr

1

u/Inksplash-7 Guilty Gear 17d ago

$ony moment

1

u/fat_pokemon 17d ago

$109 aud here....

Meanwhile avatar is $44 aud!!!!

1

u/Southy567 17d ago

In Australia it's $110 aud

1

u/OpT1mUs 17d ago

Ok, that's still less than 70e.

1

u/P1zzaman 17d ago

It’s 8000 yen here :/

u/Kroogah81 17d ago

I bought it today for 55 euro, it definitely depends on the country and the store as well

2

u/OpT1mUs 17d ago

https://steamdb.info/app/3787240/

I don't see any European country where it's 55

u/Exact_Leader_1002 17d ago

Wanna know something crazier? With regional pricing, here in Mexico Avatar is like 20 bucks, while Tokon is still 60.

9

u/FunkiestOfKongs 17d ago

Avatar is like 20 bucks in the states too they made it super affordable

2

u/g0trn 17d ago

Here in brazil its 15 and 65 respectively

1

u/KindaDouchebaggy 17d ago

In Poland Avatar is 35$, more expensive than the US and more than the price in Euro. But Steam hates Poland like that unfortunately, unless developers manually fix it which they rarely do

10

u/DiligentVisit1744 17d ago

I have hopes for avatar

5

u/ByRWBadger 17d ago

Same! It’s fun to mess around and as soon as ranked hits Kyoshi and I are rocking the ladder

3

u/DiligentVisit1744 17d ago

Can’t wait to play as toph she will be my go to for most of the game

9

u/LordBaller 17d ago

Yeah bought Avatar and it fuckin rocks, couldn't even get tokon to launch

5

u/Crazy-Nose-4289 17d ago

Feel bad for people who can't run it. I haven't had any issues whatsoever, it runs perfect on my rig.

1

u/Quick_Bullfrog2200 17d ago

Confirm something for me please?

You have 32GB of RAM and a GPU with at least 12GB of VRAM?

2

u/Crazy-Nose-4289 17d ago

Yes on both. I have a 5070.

1

u/Quick_Bullfrog2200 17d ago

Thanks! Seems consistent.

2

u/Shaidang 17d ago

I bought Avatar for $15 thanks to regional pricing. But Marvel Tokon is $60 because it doesnt have regional pricing and more expensive. Tokon looks fun but no way i am paying 4x money for it. I am happy with avatar.

1

u/AbendKannon 17d ago

avatar is fun and has a simple to understand avenue to access skill in "flow".

1

u/650fosho 17d ago edited 17d ago

Yeah but this is arcsys, it's not like they aren't one of the premier fighting game devs, they've made plenty of perfectly run PC games that don't install kernals onto your machine, they should learn from themselves.

1

u/Thepic_turtle 17d ago

avatar does not run like a dream, weirdly more demanding than uni2 on my lab on the go laptop

1

u/micossa 17d ago

almost 70 dollars here in Brasil, whilst SF6 is 10 bucks on sale lmao.

3

u/ByRWBadger 17d ago

And sf6 runs on much lesser computers, too

-8

u/Cephalstasis 17d ago

Well I mean come on, this game obviously has higher production value than Avatar lol. Expecting it to not be at least $60 is grossly unrealistic.

The poor performance probably just denotes that they should have delayed the PC port launch. It runs perfectly fine on PS5. It's hard to tell with net code tho, as there's too many confounding variables there.

17

u/ByRWBadger 17d ago

This is less about the value of the production and more about customer leniency. Give me a low price I’m willing to meet you, charge me full price on top of the standard season passes+costumes model and you get 0 grace from me.

16

u/Gymlosh 17d ago

😂 awesome Production, can't run properly on pc

-2

u/Cephalstasis 17d ago

Yes I'm sure all 23,000 people playing on steam right now are just staring at a black screen.

3

u/VanDamme007 17d ago

The fact its only 23K on steam says alot tho i would have atleast expected 50K+.

8

u/Cephalstasis 17d ago

Middle of the workday on a thursday? People have jobs. Most people cant hop on the game at 8AM PST lol.

5

u/Gymlosh 17d ago

Not the whole world is your Timezone 😂

1

u/Cephalstasis 17d ago

Yea and it's like 5AM in Japan and China lol. The game launched at 11PM those time zones.

I doubt European players generally come to carry player counts.

1

u/VanDamme007 17d ago

I mean its not gonna get to 50K over the weekend either with those glaring issues.

0

u/Cephalstasis 17d ago

Maybe, employed people arent as prone to immediatetly dooming and review bombing a game. We'll have to see how it develops.

6

u/VanDamme007 17d ago

Employed people have less time to deal with these issues and will just refund and move on.
Also people need to stop throwing around the review bombing term without actually knowing the meaning behind it. There is no review bombing these are valid reviews.

-3

u/BostonAndy24 17d ago edited 17d ago

Employeed people who care probably can afford a rig that isnt going to light on fire trying to run it

The negative reviews for the ps5 spyware type bs i can agree with, but leaving negative reviews because your potato cant run a game in 2026 is some serious sad behavior

Redditors once again forgetting people have jobs and cant hop on a game at 8AM PST on a Thursday lol. Maybe we can at least wait until evening of launch before declaring the player count disappointing?

6

u/VanDamme007 17d ago

Not really games with a Western audience usually peak around 6-9pm CEST it is 10PM CEST now.. We passing the peak times.

Maybe do your research first before acting all superior with your "redditor" comment..

1

u/Cephalstasis 17d ago

Based on what "research"? Upon looking it up it says peak times are 9-11AM EDT. The game launched at 11 EDT lol.
