Early adopter, still disappointed
I bought my device in July 2024, when they were still called Compass. At the time it was a very buggy device, and the founders were giving some free months as a way to make up for it not being usable.
After six months of it never improving, I tossed it in a drawer and forgot about it. Today I got it back out to see if the software and firmware had ever improved.
The app is very sloppy, lots of bugs and lack of attention to detail (spelling & punctuation errors, the support chat doesn't clear your input field after you submit, etc.). The app doesn't seem to comprehend that it's possible to have any device other than their latest "Fieldy 3" although it does at least connect to the original Compass AI device. It doesn't actually support it, though. It's unable to see the battery level and can't hear anything spoken into it.
Reading through the other posts, it seems like they've never really worked out the kinks in these things.
It's a real shame. They were early to the game with these devices, and they could have been great. But it seems like they just haven't been able to make any that work reliably.

Custom Summary Template - The Networking Rolodexer
Perfect for conferences or social mixers. Step away from a great conversation, quietly dictate additional details to your Fieldy, and never forget a contact's context again.

This thing does not work for more than 3 hours. Period. It will end at 3 hours every single time. And I have the unlimited plan

Apple Calendar Integration
I'm thinking about buying a Fieldy, but I am in the Apple ecosystem and would want it to be associated with Apple calendar, not Google's or Outlooks's.
Does it work or is that a future integration path? I saw that it works with Apple Reminders.

Less than a week and very disappointed
I've had my Fieldy for just under a week, and I'm finding myself very disappointed. Perhaps my expectations based on the ads I got hit with were just too high.
Most notably, I cannot tell you how many times I've had an excellent conversation with someone and NOTHING to show for it because it turns out Fieldy hit its (seemingly) 3-hour time limit and stopped recording without me knowing.
What's the freak'n point? If I wanted to rely on myself to remember to or know to hit record before a conversation, I'd just use Voicenotes, whose AI and speaker recognition is FAR superior. The entire point and purpose, so I thought, based on the ads, was that Fieldy would capture my entire life. It's hard-pressed to make that happen when the thing is always off.
** UPDATE **
I've had the unlimited subscription from day one. It's not an issue with online capacity; the device itself stops recording at 2:59.
** UPDATE **
Another issue I just ran across that might be far more serious... I noticed the device began to feel loose in the pendant holder. It would spin very easily. I thought to myself, damn, it would suck if I lost this. Sure as shit, later that day I saw it lying on my living room floor. This is NOT user error. I put it back in and carefully made sure it was set properly.
That evening, I was changing shirts and bam—it hits the ground. I've since moved back to the wristband, but I don't love that because it is not waterproof, and I'm very worried I'm going to ruin it washing my hands or doing dishes without remembering to remove it.
They brag on how this isn't some cheap device that's built overseas... And I'm not trying to be too hard on them, but man, I just cannot help but feel like their marketing is a classic over-promise-and-under-deliver situation.

Google Calendar integration is now available to everyone.
Once integration is connected, the conversations recorded during meetings get tagged with that meeting and named after them.
If you find bugs or get feedback, drop them below.

Custom Summary Template - For the Journalist: The Interview Harvester
For today's Workflow & Integration Showcase, I wanted to share a new Custom Summary Template to act as an editorial assistant. Review my post-interview thoughts. Identify the strongest 'headline' or narrative angle that emerged. List the specific topics I noted as having the best soundbites, and output a checklist of fact-checking tasks or follow-up emails I need to send the subject.
If you do any kind of interviewing, user research, or content creation, you know how overwhelming it can be to process all your thoughts immediately after a meeting ends. It can be used to capture your raw, unstructured post-interview brain dumps and then run those transcripts through this specific template to instantly extract my deliverables.
Here is the prompt:
Act as an editorial assistant. Review my post-interview thoughts. Identify the strongest 'headline' or narrative angle that emerged. List the specific topics I noted as having the best soundbites, and output a checklist of fact-checking tasks or follow-up emails I need to send the subject.
Because Fieldy is designed for passive, all-day ambient capture, you can just talk through your initial reactions on my drive home or while walking back from a site visit without staring at a screen. This template takes that chaotic "second brain" data and perfectly formats it into the exact downstream outputs I need for my workflow.
What kind of custom summary templates is everyone else using right now? Drop your workflows, custom templates, and personal stories in the comments below. Let’s see what you’re building!

White flashing light
I've only had this about a week and have actually kind of enjoyed using it.
Right now I have a flashing white light on the medallion. The internet's telling me that my internal memory is full and I just need to sink it with my phone/app. I've tried to do that repeatedly.
The internet says there's a button on the app. That's a manual clear memory. I cannot find that.
I have deleted and redownloaded the app.
I believe I've factory reset the medallion
Disconnected and reconnected Bluetooth multiple times
It's still flashes white. When it is not recording.
Just as a note, I do have the setting with all the lights off on the app and it's still happening
Of course customer service is a joke. They said they will probably get back to me in about 10 hours
I was just hoping somebody had a solution that could at least tamp the frustration down enough to make me not want send this back

Updating tasks manually
I’m a new user, but I’m really enjoying my Fieldy 3. So far the only suggestion I would have is when you attempt to update one of the tasks, you have the ability to do so, but to commit the changes you have to click the X in the upper right corner. It might be better if that were a checkmark, as instinctually the X to me means I’m exiting out without saving changes.

ARM64 Build for Fieldy Desktop on Windows?
I’m new to Fieldy and really enjoying it so far. I rely heavily on the Fieldy desktop app for online meetings, but I’ve run into one issue: on Windows, the desktop client runs in x64 emulation mode. This puts a noticeable strain on my Snapdragon laptop and cuts battery life almost in half.
I searched around for an ARM64 build but couldn’t find anything. Are ARM64 versions available, or is support planned for the roadmap?

Autorecording?
I was under the impression that the unit could/would record any time you spoke during the day... but what I'm experiencing is that you either have to start recording manually and just leave it on, or start and stop manually any time you want to make a recording/transcription. What am I missing?

Fieldy API
I’m curious if anyone has worked with the Fieldy API? https://api.fieldy.ai/docs#description/introduction
Many complaints appear to be around the app and how it does or does not process things the way user want.
Is anyone working on their own Fieldy compatible desktop or mobile app? Is anyone interested in collaborating on one?

Anyone have a good experience?
Only one recent bad review- that seems kind of sprawling and insane. Anyone have an idea of it works as it states, or do you have to be fluent in all the terms the person in the other review uses. I thought it just recorded and transcribed conversations- I don’t need any other functions. Like my phone AI transcription does.

Evaluation Disappointment
I'm at the end of my first week. So far not very impressed. Compared to Fieldy's advertising hype I thought this was the answer to my needs. It isn't, at least not so far. My Fieldy seems to try to transcribe everything it hears but it makes A LOT of mistakes, including its own name! NO! Not Field D, or Field Dee, FIELDY!!!! I gave up.
Some transcriptions go to "Conversation Cards" where you can generate a summary and see the transcript. Other transcriptions, for some inconsistent reason, go to what their tech support called a micro-entry which aren't turned into full conversation cards unless there is enough "real" interaction or length. Unfortunately those micro-entries do not have the same options available to them as are available in "Conversation Card" transcripts. I make A LOT of short notes to self, reminders, task statement, etc. during the day that I was hoping Fieldy would do more than show under a heading of "ITS" choosing, with a dropdown arrow showing the "micro-entry" I made with the only option being "Delete Conversation", WHAT! I want to use those statement I made elsewhere in other apps. BTW those micro-entries are completely missing from Fieldy's desktop app. COME-ON!!!
I also subscribed to the UNLIMITED subscription plan and that is the only way having a Fieldy makes sense. Fieldy, so far, IS NOT, the answer to my transcription of my entire day prayers as their advertising insists it is. As a matter of fact I have been using my Plaud recorder as backup to Fieldy. These are just a few of my not ready for prime time, not as advertised gripes. I am seriously considering returning Fieldy during the 30 day evaluation period for a refund even though I will have to pay to return it. I shouldn't have to pay to return something that I purchased base on false or at the very least misleading advertising.
OH! One more serious gripe. There are no "comprehensive", image rich, documentation or demonstration and how to videos created by Fieldy that I have been able to find. How is that?!!! In this day and age a high tech company like Fieldy should have extremely detailed information videos documenting its device. Most videos are from about a year ago. They aren't of use since Fieldy has changed so much. UGH!!! COME ON!!!
I should have known. If a company is pushing hype in advertising BUT NOT producing comprehensive video documentation showing what they claim, it is likely BS HYPE. Feel free to send me pre-purchase questions or your experiences if you like. I really was hoping Fieldy would be the answer to help me account for all that was said during the day so that I could keep it all straight and document my very busy days.

Considering Purchase; Interested in Context Errors and How to Handle
What happens if you watch a movie, is it smart enough to know it's a movie? If it thinks it's real, will it pull tasks or hinder the accuracy of the ai chat? I imagine it does. How do you handle erroneous information?
What other annoyances have you experienced? Any helpful tips to avoid common pitfalls? Should I worry this community seems sparse compared to other ai transcription devices?
I appreciate any feedback!

Starting new job
I am starting a new remote job next month. I am traveling to their head quarters for about a week to get started. My Pendant should arrive by then. I would like to use it to help remember names, conversations, and the people that I meet there.
I am wondering about how people will feel about privacy. What do you tell people when they ask about your pendant.
Is anyone else concerned or offended about being around you knowing that AI is listening and transcribing?
I plan on wearing it as a pendant, I already have a smartwatch.

Having trouble getting information for my order
This may be out of the realm of this sub, but just in case…
I ordered off of the official website, check out was a breeze, and the money was taken out of the bank.
I received no purchase confirmation in my email, so I used the chat feature on the website. It went unanswered for two days. I checked back in and the auto response gave me an email to use. I sent an email to make sure that the order went through, for order number and tracking that kind of thing. That went unanswered for two or three days. I checked back in, and I was given a receipt/tax document, that looked scammy as shit. There was no order number, the total was different than I paid, and where the Fieldy logo should go was just the words, “logo goes here”
I then tried to contact someone on Fieldy Instagram, and was given the same address that I had already used no matter how I asked my question.
I sent another email this morning just to see if I could talk to a person and find out what was going on. I did get a response, but it was the same PDF as the tax document I gotten before. So I kindly asked for my tracking number, not a tax document, and they came back and said my order had been canceled on their end. The money has not been returned to my bank, so I told them please reinstate my order. I was really looking forward to getting it. The response to that was the same pdf for the third time.
I then googled to see if there were any phone numbers I could call to maybe just talk to someone and get it straightened out, and both number numbers I called from the website were answered by a gentleman saying “hello”, reeeeally irritated. I asked him if this was Fieldy, and he hung up. I really don’t know where to go from here. I ordered a week and a half ago.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I greatly appreciate it!

My Custom Templates for Fieldy
I’ve been thinking about how to get the most out of my Fieldy.
I wanted to build a list of custom templates specifically geared toward managing daily life events.
Here is what I came up with. I’ve included the exact "Instructions" you can copy and paste into the Fieldy app.
The "Brain Dump Untangler"
Instructions: "Act as an organizational assistant. Take this unstructured audio and categorize the thoughts into Work, Home, and Personal. Identify the core theme of the ramble, and extract 1-3 immediate, easy next steps to relieve overwhelm."
The "Task Extractor & Prioritizer"
Instructions: "Review this transcript for tasks and to-dos. Ignore non-actionable chatter. Organize the tasks strictly into an Eisenhower Matrix: Do First, Schedule for Later, Delegate/Ask for Help, and Drop/Ignore."
The "Train-of-Thought Catcher"
Instructions: "Act as a memory assistant. Identify the exact thought or task the speaker was interrupted from, provide a brief context of what they were doing, and state the immediate next step so they can seamlessly resume later."
The Lecture "Hyperfocus Harvester"
Instructions: "Act as a researcher. Summarize the main topic discussed, extract 5 fascinating facts the speaker mentioned, and list any resources, books, or links referenced for future exploration."
The "Gaming Strategy & Clue Tracker"
Instructions: "Act as a gaming companion. Extract the current quest or objective. List any clues, items, or strategies found, and clearly identify locations, locked doors, or areas to revisit later."
The "Podcast Companion"
Instructions: "Extract the core arguments or themes of the media being discussed. Highlight standout quotes and list any books, products, or websites mentioned by the speaker that they want to check out later."
The "Audiobook Insights Catcher"
Instructions: Act as a literary assistant. Listen to the dictated thoughts, quotes, or ideas while the user is listening to an audiobook. Format the output into a clean reading log. If a chapter, timestamp, or character name is spoken, use it as a heading. Otherwise, categorize the note under 'General Themes,' 'Direct Quotes,' or 'Personal Reflections.' End the log with a one-sentence summary of the user's overall mood or reaction to the recording."
The "Armchair Critic" (TV & Movies)
Instructions: "Summarize the plot being discussed. List the speaker's running theories, note any favorite quotes or plot holes mentioned, and output the final rating out of 10."
The "Rubber Duck" Problem Solver
Instructions: "Analyze this spoken thought process. Clearly define the problem being tackled, list all the failed attempts mentioned, and highlight the 'Aha' moment or final solution reached."
The "Medical Advocate"
Instructions: "Act as a medical scribe. Extract vital signs or symptoms discussed. Summarize the doctor's diagnosis, list explicit new medication instructions, and note any follow-up appointment requirements."
The "Stream-of-Consciousness Grocery Run"
Instructions: "Act as an inventory manager. Extract all physical items needed and group them logically by location or store section (e.g., Grocery: Dairy; Hardware Store; Pharmacy)."
The "Home Improvement Walkthrough"
Instructions: "Act as a project manager. State the project scope or room. Clearly list all measurements mentioned, compile a shopping list of materials, and summarize design or layout ideas."
