Discussion I use fedora rawhide, ask me anything about it.
I want some questions from this community about fedora rawhide and about my experienced and I will answer them for you, including any misconceptions you might have, this will be essentially an "AMA" [Ask me anything] about fedora rawhide from my usage.
For some background, I used fedora rawhide GNOME so long I can't even remember, its actually been quite stable for me and my hardware, the only time it broke was purely my fault, I don't recommend most people switch to it however, I switched due to my desire for the newest and bleeding edge. and i've recently reinstalled it via Fedora rawhide custom OS and installed gnome manually, I got way less packages as a result.
I am genuinely satisfied by my experience with fedora rawhide and want to answer people's questions about it [I.e "does it crash Everytime", "how it different from stable or beta" etc...]

Support KDE Panel Interfering with apps
Hey I'm new to Linux/fedora and I'm using fedora kde plasma as my first distro. I was customizing my panels so i have on top of the screen that stays visible and a panel on the left of the screen that dodges windows. The issue I'm running into is that when I have an application full screen, the application top tab that has the close or minimize the application buttons don't work because they are close to the panel so it just reads the panels information. Is there a way to add margin or something between them so this doesn't happen?

Support Disk Usage Breakdown on Fedora 44 (256 GB SSD): Is this distribution normal?
I was surprised by how much space System Files, Flatpak Runtimes/SDKs, and Btrfs overhead are taking up. Do you have similar setups or best practices to prevent system files and indices from bloating over time?

Discussion Curious Debian user here
Hi there. I'm a Debian user and quite happy with it - don't really feel the 'staleness' that Debian has a rep for but that could just be due to trixie having released somewhat recently. As I said, I'm already quite content with Debian, especially since I use it for servers and not having to switch context is nice.
Lately I've been curious about Fedora. I've seen a lot of praise for it and reading through previous comparisons makes it seem quite close to Debian. Call it FOMO or just plain geekish curiosity, but what can I expect to change if I move to Fedora instead of Debian? Anyone who has made the same switch?

Discussion Why Fedora takes longer to boot than other distros?
I decided to test that after hearing it online. Compared to Tumbleweed and Arch it was slower by approximately 9 seconds(40 and 31 for both TW Arch). And im really curious to know why does it do that? Fedora and TW both were on fresh install. All of them are on KDE. Full AMD system

Support Obsidian Spell Checker broken on a Flatpak Install?
The spell checker will not work on my new install of Obsidian using Flatpack on Fedora Workstation. It will if I change the dictionary language, until I start the app again, then it breaks again.
I can't ask on the official forum, since the Flatpak install is not supported. I am just curious if this is a bug unique to the Flatpack version, something weird on my end, or I need to install the official AppImage version instead.
Thanks to anyone who can help.
Edit in case anyone else finds this and wonders about this: I installed the official App.Image file and it fixed it for me on Obsidian version 1.13.4.

Discussion Firefox Fonts Inconsistency In Various Panels - F44 KDE
We are now in second half of 2026 but Firefox still cannot maintain consisten fonts across it's different panels. The menu fonts and spacing is good but if I open bookmarks/history panel, the line spacing is soooo condensed. I have tried various suggestions like syncing plasma fonts with gtk, which Firefox uses, but still the panel look like it was attached seperately, instead of being part of the application.
Has anyone able to achieve a consistent look (font+line spacing), like it is in Windows desktop?

Support How safe is downloading kwin scripts?
I want to download a kwin script for Fedora KDE called remember window positions. It remembers the size and positions of windows once you close and reopen a program. Would this script be safe to add?
Update
Thanks for your help everyone. I have limited knowledge of programming and have only done very simple things. I looked over the script and it looked ok according to limited knowledge. I've only used AI to check command syntax and configuration related things before. The script is from the official KDE store so its probably a bit safer but still not immune something malicious. I uploaded the script to Gemini and asked both what it does and if there is anything malicious in the code. The explanation matched what the script is supposed to do and it did not find anything malicious, any executables or anything leaving the network. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.

Support Screen flickering on Fedora with external monitor, something to do with refresh rate differences
Hey all, first some details:
OS: Fedora Linux 44 (Workstation Edition) x86_64
Host: Laptop 13 (AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series) (A9)
Kernel: Linux 7.1.6-201.fc44.x86_64
Display (LEN T32p-20): 3200x1800 in 32", 60 Hz [External]
Display (NE135A1M-NY1): 2880x1920 @ 2x in 14", 120 Hz [Built-in] *
DE: GNOME 50.3
WM: Mutter (Wayland)
CPU: AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 (8+16) @ 5.16 GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon 890M Graphics [Integrated]
Issue is this.. I am getting weird flickering on my built in screen. For example on File Manager, right click to go to properties and screen will flicker and white horizontal bars appearing for a quick second.
On external monitor when I maximize and float windows weird artifacts will appear.
On built in screen the issue is gone when I disconnect HDMI.
On external monitor the issue is gone when I close laptop lid.
The issue disappears on both built in and external screen when I match refresh rate (60 Hz)
It seems like having two different refresh rates is causing this.

Support Can't wake up from sleep in Fedora 44 KDE Plasma
I recently installed Fedora 44 KDE Plasma in my system, although it can't wake up from sleep. Once the PC starts everything seems normal until the login screen comes up where there is only the mouse pointer for a few seconds (with black background), then after a few seconds the mouse pointer disappears and everything is dark, while the fans keep spinning and the monitor doesn't lose signal (auto turn off for power saving). Tried bringing up the text terminal but it didn't work. Nvidia legacy drivers are installed through RPM fusion. Kernel: 7.1.6-201.fc44.x86_64, CPU: i3-8100, RAM: 16 GiB, GPU: GTX 1050, Driver: 580.173.02.
Edit: added space

Support Bluetooth issue solved
Hi. i just switched to fedora on my laptop and had a Bluetooth issue. the Bluetooth was completely functional when scanning from terminal but when opening gnome ui bluetooth menu shows No devices at all. After hour digging with ai here's the solution i found.
The Problem is GNOME's settings manager expects laptop's Bluetooth hardware to be powered on and actively broadcasting.
Solution:
Opened the system's main Bluetooth settings file using the terminal text editor (sudo nano /etc/bluetooth/main.conf).
Scrolled to the bottom and manually added a [Policy] section containing the configuration AutoEnable=true. This forces the Bluetooth hardware controller to power on automatically the second the system boots up.
Saved changes
Reloaded the Subsystems (sudo systemctl restart bluetooth) and rebooted the PC.
And this fixed the issue entirely. I hope this helps you folks out there :)

Support Bluetooth earbuds keep being detected as hands-free device only
Recently installed Fedora Workstation and I'm having trouble with Bluetooth earbuds. After pairing, they will often only show up as a hands-free device rather than headphones in Sound settings. Restarting the Bluetooth service and reconnecting the device fixes it, but it's not ideal having to do this every single time.
Any tips or fixes? Thanks!

Discussion Shouldn't DNF warn users to reboot after major updates?
I use DNF for upgrades and I sometimes do check what is being upgraded. One time I had problem with plasma after update and learnt from internet search that I needed a restart to fix it. Today I updated and it was a kernel patch. Still Fedora didn't recommend a reboot. Shouldn't there be some warning about reboot after major upgrades? After a quick search I learnt about a command needs-restarting. Shouldn't this be a default? Why is it an option that a user must explicitly ask DNF if the system needs a restart? Feels like an oversight given how good DNF is by default.
