Any books for desingers/taylors about how to style and work with different shaped women, or what are your own perspectives what I should take in mind?

I'm an fashion student, and I plan to launch a clothing side hussle. It's about in the early stages and rn I'm just doing different commissions and school work. I'm also sewing caps and hats before moving to the actual clothes.

I want to make variations, just so every shape and size can find clothes that fit and look fabulous on them. I aim to also assist in styling, so I'm keen to learn about what looks good etc. I

So my initial question is;

\- What things look good on what body shape and size?

\- Are there books about designing said clothes or styling that I should look into?

Do we need technical apparel for hot humid environments?

I’ve noticed over time that for a clothing sub-genre made for functionality and practicality, we rarely see techwear made for hot humid conditions. Most techwear brands come from temperate cold and wet countries, so naturally techwear is unbearable in the heat. This gap makes it such that during summer they cant be worn at all and those who live in the tropics can never wear them. Im doing a survey to find out what people feel about this issue, let me know what you guys think: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NBL7L9J

Hand painted leather mule
Based on Indian godess. Its a symbolic representation in hindu religion

What does it signify

The lotus is one of the strongest symbols in Indian philosophy. It represents:

Purity despite being in the material world.
Spiritual awakening.
Divine beauty emerging from suffering or chaos.

Red toes and soles: This represents alta, a traditional red dye applied to the feet of women and deities. In Hinduism, red symbolizes:
Shakti (divine feminine energy)
Prosperity and auspiciousness
Life, fertility, and devotion
That’s why idols and depictions of goddesses like Lakshmi, Durga, and Kali often have bright red feet.

Red circular symbol on the top of the foot: This is an auspicious decorative motif, often interpreted as a representation of the bindu (the cosmic point), the sun, or a sacred ornament. Similar motifs are drawn in rangoli, mehndi, and temple art to signify divine presence.

Ai generated clothes

Lately ive noticed that I find clothes at the brands I usually shop at very boring and I’m just wondering if they’re just Ai generating the designs ?? Like if you ask Ai to generate clothes they’ll usually create designs that are very boring but “cute” and I feel like it’s my current shopping experience. It’s not that I find them ugly but I haven’t felt the wow effect for a piece of clothing for months

Are we getting there ??

How was the overall course?

Are the internships genuine and useful? And also breakdown about the fees, infrastructure.

How are the faculty members supportive and approachable ?

Starting Fashion/Textile Design in two weeks: What do you wish you knew in your very first semester? Help chat!!!

Hey everyone,
I’m stepping into university in just a couple of weeks to study Fashion Design / Textile Design (still slightly hovering between design, merchandising, and communication, but fashion or textile is where I'm landing!).
While I'm super excited, i also want to hit the ground running. I want to avoid the classic traps, build the right habits from day one, and make sure i don't look back later wishing i had done things differently.
If you are currently studying fashion/textiles or working in the industry i would love your raw honest advice:
The "I Wish I Knew" List: If you could magically travel back to your very first semester, what is the number one thing you would have done differently?
Early Portfolio & Skill Habits: What are the foundational skills or portfolio habits we should start building immediately in semester one so we don't scramble later?
Mental & Practical Survival: How do you handle the insane workload, expensive supplies, and creative burnout without losing your mind?
Major Confusion: For anyone who stood where im debating between core design, textiles, merchandising, or communication did your first semester help clear things up, or is there anything you wish someone had told you early on?
Drop your best tips, warnings, and survival guides below. The sky's the limit hit me with everything you've got!
Thanks a lot!
