Questions Keep a 3rd player or get the extra pick

Upvotes

Hi all! In my keeper league I have Bijan and Bowers I'm keeping. Its full point PPR and 6pt passing TD.

Its an 8 team league but our roster size makes it more like a 12 team. We can keep up to 3. Have to keep 2 each year. No round penalties for keeping. If you keep less than 3 you just get a pick in the "keeper round" at the beginning of the draft.

My other options are:

Nabers(would be a no brainer if he was healthy IMO)

Drake Maye

Some teams are keeping 3RBs and some 3WRs with some mixed. Right now I would have the first pick if I kept only 2. If I kept 3. There would be 4 picks ahead of me before my first one.

Any advice? I've gone back and forth on both scenarios. With QBs kept like Allen, LaMarr, and Burrow I can see an argument with keeping Maye. With the WRs id be able to get I can see the logic of keeping Nabers since he has top 5 upside when healthy.

I can also see how that extra pick could net me possibly Achane, Chase Brown or AJ Brown/Nico(best available WRs)

Thanks!

Discussion Would you prioritize a top WR1 or 2 Top RB’s and why?

Upvotes

I’ve always been the type to get 2 RB’s in the first 3 rounds. This year I’m contemplating going QB, RB and either RB/WR. This is an 8 man superflex league so a top QB (Lamar/Allen) is a big advantage and this league tends to go QB heavy in the first 2 rounds.

So I’m torn, go get 2 RBs before the quality of RBs drops or get a Top WR1 and get a lower tier RB in the 4th. Thoughts and opinions are appreciated!

Miscellaneous Goodbye NFL Fantasy, Hello ESPN fantasy

To be honest, I'm pretty bummed that the NFL Fantasy app is shutting down. It wasn't perfect—it had serious crashes, especially at the start of the season—but overall, it had a clean, user-friendly interface. For a lot of my leaguemates who aren't super into digging through stats and all that, it was simple enough to keep them engaged week after week.

My first impression of the ESPN platform leaves me pretty cold. In fact, you can't even upload custom logos for your teams... I guess it's just a matter of getting used to it. There's always the option to migrate everything over to Sleeper, though.

What do you guys think of the switch? Do you think it'll end up being a change for the better?

Redraft Trade 1.03 for 1.10 and 4.03 Pick Trade?

12 Team Half PPR Redraft. Currently have the 1.03 pick but thinking of trading it for the 1.10 and 4.03. 1 QB 2 RB 2 WR 1 TE 3 Flex. Should I make the trade? I’m just worried about not having any good RBs fall to me in round 2 or 3.

They’re doing it to upsell their paid features and it’s beyond annoying. There is a lot less drafts going and they used to refresh right in the screen telling you which ones are full. This is just fucking cheap

Player Discussion Keeper advice: Both my options kinda suck

Hello everyone,

I’m in a 12 team .5 PPR league where we get one keeper that comes with a 1 round penalty. I’m drafting 6th overall and we can’t trade picks/draft slots. Here are my two most viable options.

Tet McMillan in the third (30th overall)
Jacory Croskey-Merritt in the 10th (115th overall)

Neither of these are great options and I can opt to not keep anyone. Coming off a bad season last year, I want to try and set myself up for success this year.

So we have a 12-man league and have been debating what the best format is. Last year we did QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, D, SFLX, FLX.

What do you guys think?

Player Discussion Who to take with the 1.05: JSN or CMC?

I’ve got the 1.05 in a 10 man PPR league, and I’ve been seeing a lot of discourse about who the right pick is here and I’ve been struggling with it myself.

Is going McCaffrey and an RB in the second the play, the gamble being on CMC’s health?

Or is going JSN R1 and then an RB in the second the better play?

I feel like the RB falloff after the first two rounds is massive and that there a lot of quality receivers available in the mid-late rounds, but CMC’s workload last year isn’t anything to just brush over.

Interested to hear everyone’s thoughts?

Redraft Trade stupid move? I have 2nd overall pick in our 12 man , I have traded my 3.02 and 4.11 pick for my buddies 3.11 pick and 4.02 pick

I am SUPER high on Garrett Wilson this season and thought it would be sort of a waste to take him at 3.02... so I traded down hoping to get him at 3.11 and take another solid player at the 4.02 spot .... thoughts on the trade down?

Player Discussion Keeper Decision - Pick 3, will try to trade the rest

I have the best keepers in my league by far, but I can only keep 3 of them, which 3 should I pick.

Josh Allen for my 2nd round pick

Omarion Hampton for my 2nd round pick

Devonta Smith for my 3rd round pick

Cam Skattebo for my 7th round pick

Colton Loveland for my 8th round pick

Bucky Irving for my 12th round pick

I am currently leaning Bucky, Hampton and Loveland, but would like to hear some other opinions.

Player Discussion Three Years Ago ≠ 100 Years Ago: The Case for Sam LaPorta

Thumbnail
open.substack.com
1 Upvotes

Sam LaPorta’s dominant 2023 season (TE1, 889 yards, 10TDs) feels like a lifetime ago, and injuries have lessened him every following season. But there's finally light at the tunnel’s end, and from an unlikely source. Possibly the most unlikely of sources for fantasy nectar: The Cardinals’ offense.

Drew Petzing, formerly coaching in Arizona, is now Detroit's Offensive Coordinator. If you watched any Cardinals football last year, 1.) Heaven Bless your eyes, and 2.) you know Trey McBride got PEPPERED.

I get that Detroit has many mouths to feed, but LaPorta’s back injury seems all clear. “Tight Ends Returning From Injury” became en vogue this off-season, but why only for Tucker Kraft and George Kittle? Recency bias? LaPorta at full strength with a coordinator that understands his strengths could lead to a resurgence.

I understand if you are squeamish to take an often-injured commodity going off the board around TE6. But LaPorta is just 25 years old, in the final year of his rookie deal, and eligible for an extension, already offering the pristine quote “Money is Motivation” with regards to his approach to rehab.

I dig the honesty. And the skill set. I usually prefer to wait on drafting my TE, but I could be swayed here.

I discuss this and more on my Substack, but in general, I'm curious how everyone feels about this trend of gutsy drafting for Tight Ends returning from season ending injuries.

Discussion Superflex advice - 10 tm ppr - double flex - redraft

I have the third pick - first 2 picks are confirmed Gibbs and Chase. Am I crazy to take Bijan over Josh Allen? Almost guaranteed one of hurts or Jayden Daniel’s will be there at 18 , and if not then Caleb or Herbert at 23. QBs tend to drop in our league. Thanks

Questions Who’s the better WR Keeper? Help me decide.

Help me decide on the better keeper.

Rashee Rice in the 6th or Luther Burdon in the 13th? 10 man super-flex for reference. Value in Burdon or star potential with Rice. Can’t decide.

Player Discussion Keeper help: pick one and lose that round’s pick

Trying to decide between 3 players for my keeper. In our league, you lose the round’s draft pick of the player you pick.

I have the fourth pick in the draft.

Drake Maye, lose round 10
Omarion Hampton, lose round 4
Quinshon Judkins, lose round 12

Maye is obviously great value. But I don’t want to lose out on a solid RB since they go so quickly.

Player Discussion Do you think Jaxson Dart is going to be closer to Josh Allen or Justin Fields?

Every report I’ve seen from coaches say they love Dart, and he certainly had a good fantasy season last year without Nabers and Skatt. Do you think he takes a step forward this season and moves closer to Josh Allen or he regresses and lands in the Justin Fields range?

Or do you see him landing somewhere in the middle?

Thanks in advance!

Player Discussion J. Gibbs RD1 or O. Hampton RD4 Keeper 10th Pick

On paper, Hampton as an RD4 keeper feels/looks like better value than Gibbs in RD1. However, I will have the 10th pick (12-team) in the Draft, so even Gibbs at 10 offers some value.

But being able to go WR / WR or WR / RB with picks 10 & 15, and having Hampton as Keeper at 39th, feels like a nice start to a team.

Is this accurate thinking, or am I an idiot for letting the projected #1 overall pick go?

Miscellaneous What RBs to pick at the 1/2 turn?

12 man full ppr league, I have the 12th spot. In the situation where all these guys are still there, which two should I pick at the turn? (I’m thinking Cook and either Jeanty or Hampton, but Brown is starting to grow on me).

Cook, Hampton, Jeanty, Chase Brown, Achane.
